Amazing, I just watched Outsiders, Blood Simple, Jason + Argonauts, and Edward Scissorhands in the last few months! I remember seeing Jason on TV, and it was interesting to see it again after all those decades, but it was slightly under-whelming just because they really didn't finish up telling the whole story of returning home from the voyage. And yes, the images of the skeletons are still in long-term memory. The Outsiders is a good story, it's sort of a "Stand by Me" vibe, and the A-list actors are so young it's hard to tell them apart! Re-watching Blood Simple did not have the same impact as the first viewing (I honestly always confuse that movie with "A Simple Plan," so maybe the expectations are mixed up!) but it's a good Coen Bros. watch. I don't have any endearment for Beetlejuice either, but Scissorhands was surprisingly enjoyable, and adding Vincent Price to the mix was genius. You should put Mad World at the top of your list - it's probably the greatest cast of comedians ever assembled, and it would make a great NYE watch if you're stuck at home.
My plan for 2025 is to go through as many of my movies as possible. I even have a fun order to watch them in. Also I got Blood and Black Lace on 4k today for Christmas
Except for Vortex and the last 2 Horror movies I have seen them all. I would't worry too much about what you 'should' have seen by now. Just enjoy the ride I would say. For me it's always a choice between having the time and what am I being in the mood for. Sometimes I would like to watch a classic like Vertigo again but then I think I still have a stack of new movies I have not watched so usually I watch the newer movie.
To kill a mocking bird is a must film to see. The book is a classic.(Since the original publication, the book has never been out of print.) ....... The outsiders is a great film and so is the book. It's probably more relatable to the teenage audience. (Hinton began writing the novel when she was 15)......... The books were used in my 9th grade class..... Check out criterion 1984 and Army of shadows.....
Run Lola Run is awesome! Really fun and very creative, you're gonna have a blast watching it.
