It’s all just that easy 😊
you are Stan the man. awesome work. I don't think I have seen you purchase a part yet. cheers
and he wont ha ha.....he said he will make it all.....I think i would purchase the cargo floors though.
Already looking forward to next Sunday morning! Great start to my week! Thanks, Stan. Pure art!
I really enjoy watching a true artist at work.
Great work again mate, I yes I did see you try and weld without the earth clamp on ;) That's my trick.
Haha My wood bench dosn't transmit electricity well at all.
@@thenovascotiabarndoor1954 getting hot molten metal down the sock is way more fun 🤦♂️😉
Thank You. T
Amazing skills and dedication Stan. Love the Before/ After video at the end 😎🤙👍
Maravilhoso como está novamente ganhando forma.
Dear Sir, I have been following your renovation, from the very beginning, getting your bus. Thanks to your drawings, I am moving forward with the renovation of my 51 barndoor. It is much worse than yours, but your work, diligence, experience motivates me that it makes sense to save every barndoor. Thank you and I'm a big fan of yours. IN Czechia
Thanks! Nice to see some getting good use out of my drawings. Will you be sharing you progress anywhere? TheSamba.com barndoor forum section is a good spot to document your progress and find information. Always nice to see another barndoor
absolutely amazing stan. The progress you have made on this. from total junk to a really nice perfect restoration. Do you think you will make the cargo floors? or just buy the ones by BBT. Seems like they will be really hard and time consuming to make by hand.
I plan to make the floor panels. I am getting more confident I can pull that off as I go. I will bead roll the ribs and then press in the other bits.
@@thenovascotiabarndoor1954 just figuring the shrinkage. Put the steering wheel on the bead roller for that. One little bobble and you need to start over with a new piece of sheet metal. you will need to make several passes on each one. the thing I would be worried about is distortion as well. so if you marked the panel in the correct places and did a shallow divit on each rib. then deeper and deeper it would keep the panel from distorting. This how they make Roof metal. I have been in the factory. (corrugated roof panels. ) they use a Giant bead roller with multiple stages of beads.
Beautiful job Stan. I noticed some new tires in the background. Obviously bus tires ??? I found 14 inch tires hard to find around here for my Bay window. Are those ordered from the USA ?
New tires for my 64. 185r14C. They were on sale from CIP1.
@@thenovascotiabarndoor1954 Ok Thanks. Yes CIP1 free shipping !
Noticed your mig welding to but the flat panels, is there a reason for not using the tig? Love your work and look forward to each episode. Which version/flavour of CAD are you using?
probably speed. I have seen him bust out the tig from time to time. the smaller parts and thicker ones you can make without much warpage. does take a bit more time to setup a tig weld. That is why I dont do it. You can planish much better with tig welds though.
Using the mig out of laziness mostly. I really should have used the tig for the panel. I am not very good at the tig yet but need to get better before the body panels. For CAD I use Autodesk Fusion. I use Autodesk Inventor for my day job but prefer Fusion for personal stuff
