It would be nice to hear the perspective of someone who isn’t religious, but in America it seems people are much more turned to prayers than Europeans. When I post about my stage IV cancer, I immediately get Americans answers with prayers, biblical passages and that just depresses and scares me even more.
I finally met someone who has similar experience...myom had cancer for years and all will got were prayers and best wishes from close relatives, friends and everyone around us in general... until a faithful day I came across a Herbalist who helped cured my mom completely from Breast Cancer and she has never has a sign of it till date
My dear child don't be frightened of prayers that's the Lord calling you through friends he is his people to do his work now you all of you should pray I live in England and I pray a lot and I love the Lord 🇬🇧
If it was not for my deep faith in God, I would live in despair. Some people will show you empathy and some people will not. I even forgive those people who used to ask me do I have "chemo brain"? That used to drive me "nuts"...now I just pity those people because they live in fear and ignorance. I live in faith and hope. My religion "empowers me" and COMFORTS ME. I also empower myself through books and through the internet because physicians really do not have the time to explain everything. If I have a question regarding my illness or tentative treatments, I present those questions to the physicians. I can't focus on my cancer issues each day but In the back of my mind I realize I do have cancer and it is a struggle each day, but I will persevere. I am learning to love myself. I am learning to accept life as it is. I will change what I can and accept those things I cannot change. To summarize: This cancer diagnosis has been a very big challenge in my life, but through all my struggles I am becoming a stronger person, a more empathic person, and a more loving person!
Is there a Canadian chapter? I’m stage 4 seems to be nothing much in the way of info or chat clubs thank you so much! Finally someone like me! Plan A b c and D lol!

Yes! I agree. I don’t want to hear religious platitudes either.
