Glad Texas has a week off to try and get healthy. Blue did not feel sorry for himself. I saw him cheering on his teammates. He is an integral part of the success and a must-have for the season. He will bounce back.
DBs Mukuba missed an opportunity to separate the WR from the deep pass on MSU lone TD drive. He could have caused the incompletion but credit to the WR for a big catch in traffic
Li felt VB anchored well. What I saw early was Edge run fits were off in the first half. Simmons tried to make plays in the run game and took himself out of plays by trying to shoot inside rather than set the edge. Our other issue was getting the running QB to the ground and making tackles on the WRs in space.
i think Wisner is ready to dethrone Blue. Blue has fumbled the ball 3-4 times already and has had several dropped passes in the longhorns first 5 games; we need an RB1 a LOT more reliable. Blue’s experience ain’t amounting to much if he’s inconsistent with more costly plays than great 20+ yard plays
For CJ to give the team a C is amazing bc of where this team can be when they pull it all together. But for now, we can beat SEC caliber teams with a mediocre performance 😎 I’m encouraged 🤘🏽
If Texas is playing a Kentucky or better team the product that was on the field Saturday would have found themselves in much bigger trouble. They may have still won but it would have been a lot closer. Complimentary football has been huge for this team. D Line was not good, o line to many penalties, turnovers not ok, dropped passes. A lot to get cleaned up.
B- or C+ for the O-line is CRAZY, guys lol. Sark didn't emphasize the run in the first half and we ran the ball at will in the second half. Pass pro was an A. You penalize them a bit for penalties and you get a B+, minimum
i counted 5 drives that should’ve been touchdowns but were either fumbles, dropped passes, holdings, or coaching mistakes. the score should’ve been 66-9 if texas just didn’t make any costly mistakes. i’m not asking for texas to make spectacular plays, i’m just asking for texas to limit their costly mistakes. Sark set a standard at Texas, and they did not meet that standard offensively this game.
Agreed with all the grades.. Turnovers will kill us against top tier teams where there is little margin for error! Cook is a good wr, just not great with average hands. Tackling needs to be more consistent moving forward. Pass rush finally showed up,that's the biggest difference in this game. Pressure on the qb is paramount in the sec! Stopping the run is the weak spot on this defense..RBs are only gonna get better as the season goes on must scheme to stop the run better if Horns plan on making a legit run! Hookem
Need to be careful with WR screens teams are reading this easily. They are jumping these. LA did it and MSU almost had a pick. This is especially true when they miss a block.
Bobby there was 17 overall penalties on both sides. The red made that game horrible for both teams. There’s shouldn’t have been 5-7 of those called making a cleaner game and upping the grade for the Oline. They missed some calls them called bs so I think a D for penalties is tough. I go C for penalties and B to B+ overall. The refs had the game herky jerky like Sark said. I also think you’re correct about scheming up the run game. Sark is honestly afraid to get more RBs hurt. With Gibson being hurt they didn’t want to ply him. Then two season ending injuries. Two fumbles by blue and you’re left with Trey as only RB to rely on. It’s hard to blame Sark
Texas needs to have several running backs that can actually complement each other on the field. Blue as a scatback out-of-the-backfield receiver and a Wisner/Gibson gut-puncher. (Although Blue has sliced up a lot of tacklers in the middle... and then gets hurt doing it?) I don't like having to rely on Just One RB as the heart of the team - I think it deteriorates the RB's future when he's "the only one", and teams should have excellent alternatives - Left or Right, or whatever.
Instead of allowing 3 or 4 yards on first down they were giving up 7 or 8 yards on first downs. That was a weak start for the defense in the first half.
Arch was great not so much for cook a droped pass blue was two fumbles and to many penalties that erased touchdowns And positive plays. Ready to replace blue with wisner but am sure sark won’t do it
Coaching D + Gotta take away MS run. Team not emotionally ready to play. Bone headed call by Sark to take points off scoreboard. Starting RB can not be a fumbeler. I am hoping Sark purposely called game poorly to put team under stress for first time to prepare for OU game. Manning great, which is huge given Quinn injury.

Great job guys! Appreciate all you do. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Totally agree with Bobby that PK bend don't brake is not good game plan when you have a talented Defense and impactful players. Turn them loose!

Blue did that against Washington that killed us. Needs to improve protecting the ball when breaking a long run
Yep. We would have won that game had blue and Baxter not fumbled.

Edges lost contain on the outside too many times. But I love to see the sacks.
Hopefully Sark did not screw up the mentality of his own kicker by taking off his 50 yard kick.

We have to set the edge against OU's qb. Aggs and Arkansas also have a qb that loves to scramble. We need to clean that up!

I'm glad we're not no#1 comes with to much baggage and BS we don't need

Yea there was at least 14-17 points on the table that we didnt capitalize on.

Blama blew a 28 point lead and couldn't score untill the last few seconds and that makes them number 1 ????? They've beeen exposed!
Are Both Teams Defenses Suspect?
They were already celebrating on the sidelines before halftime....that's the problem. Gor to have killer instincts all 4 quarters
🤣 ok CH saw what I saw, but I can’t blame VB.
Better wisner comparison would be J Charles imo

Arch gave a little fake and they jumped at a screen and then he went long. Need to keep them guessing or we'll have a pick 6.
OU knew this last year and got a pick on our 1st drive if I'm not mistaken. We need to switch some things up against OU.

Have we heard why Blue fumbled? Were those bigger, stronger defenders stripping him? Were those lucky elbow/funny-bone hits?
I kept thinking, "Texas has about 400 yards rushing - less 390 wiped out by blocking penalties."
Instead of allowing 3 or 4 yards on first down they were giving up 7 or 8 yards on first downs. That was a weak start for the defense in the first half.
They certainly didn't have a bad second half.
They played a great second half.
Gap Control. OU has had a Field Day with that, LB's out of position, in the past.
🤘🏾🏈

Id bet Wisner starts against OU.
I don't think in terms of Replacements - I want to see both available and all the time. And get Gibson into more power-run situations.

Don't yall believe Hill could be the best spy in football & he will spy Hawkins all game
ou sucks!!!🤘🏼
What Time Is It?
C-.
You guys need to get real , Wisner is not anywhere near Bijan and for you to say one notch below really makes you look ignorant
Well, Vogel did say, 'A 'Little' BR'
@@Brucev7😂😂😂😂
PK gets an F
Not after the second half adjustments.
@@drm2364 I said on the chat yesterday, the 3Q, slowing dwn the Rush is crucial. When MSSt was forced to Pass more, they looked not too good.
Arch needs to learn how to get down. He ain’t Superman!
Yes. He will get knocked out, or fumble.
He plays to win the game. Fearless.
