Sure Joe is an absolute enigma whose voice made the songs worth listening to. Joe power to u and to whatever turned u on. One of our Greatest Musicians of all times. Great memories.
Ramblers was a real deal in the 60’s and 70’s. Jerry Hanson was great. Joe, you rocked. We appreciate you and the Ramblers. A lot of memories. I enjoy the interview. Thanks guys.
Herrr....l saw him ooooo...on my dad's black and white TV !!...I was in primary school, P4 or thereabouts....😂😂 Band Stand on GBC TV...tuesday evenings....there was also the Black Berrets Band...from the army l think.
Waooo Joe, you're still kicking. You brought a lot of memories to this interview. Knock on wood was my favorite too. I wish you had sang Maria aiiiiiiii. Where is Soga? Very nice interview. You did great God bless you!@
I remember the good old songs by. Ramblers,Black Beats, Tempos, etc.I quite remember Ramblers cover of that great song " KNOCK ON WOOD".This cover version was very great in America because they loved the way the Ghanaian band rolled in the hilife and the polyrhyms. The Ramblers version was and is still the talk of America. Ask any music loving American.
Lets appreciate our living legends, lets show them love. Praying for longevity and excellent health. I think other artists should learn from him, start saving for your future cos the future is where your life is, and there won't be anybody to help you out when you need help most. Thank God for the Ramblers band, one of the very best band ever. It's difficult to have a well disciplined group especially with black group artists. Can you imagine having a gig and showing up 2hrs late to perform, and even practice time is worse than BMT ie Black Man's Time, it is pathetic.
Thank you Hammer for this interview for Joe Atiso disappeared from the music scene at his peak. I was young but growing up in the late 60s and 70s it was all Ramblers international band..Thank you Joe for I always was of the view that Eddie Owoo was a singer.Among the many releases of Ramblers,my favourite is "maye akokoyine abankawaa"Where's Eddie Owoo please!.
If they are no more recording the answer is simple the industry wants beat and rythme so its open, without talent you could still be a musicien. They are soo many but none distinguishes themselves as well as their stardom and fame are limitted.
Uncle Joe , You have to fight for the right of the songs for you and your fellow musicians to get some money. JERRY HANSON was great he is a good man . I wish you good luck for the right of the all the records. Joe please can you put up good musicians you are still looking good.
In fact i thaught this was an ewe song. Ok mr hammer please thank you for the good job at the same time am looking for a gospel album with tittles like OBESI NATARE FETAA AND OKUBOFO SAN WAKYIRE BRE FIE. Thank you soo much and hear from you soon.
You are right. Nana Ampadu himself explained that he gave Jerry Hanson about eight songs in his early days ,before the African Brothers Band was well established.
Oh my God, I never thought I would see Joe Atiso again. It's been more than 50 years. He is real legend.

Those were the days of Ghanaian bands with great brass sections and wonderful jazz influence. Ghanaian music at the time covered all genres.

Thanks so much Hammer. You're the best!
Those were the days, Kwame's days when the arts tried to cover all ethnicities
Beautiful and generous times!
When you're gifted no one can it from you. His voice is still good
Hope I can get in touch of Mr Atiso, I was born in Accra in the 60s, I grew up with his music
You made people happy. And that's great achievement. So don't say you didn't make anything from singing to the people.
Joe Nana from ny ny 😍 ❤️ ♥️ 💕
HE STILL HAVE THE VIOCE.
Still, his voice is good.

I think they were more disciplined and took great pride in the reputation of the unit.
Very fluent and no accent.
The coup had taken place in Feb.'66.
Those were the days, Jerry Hansen and the Rambles. Was in school with Mark Hansen son of Jerry Hansen.
Tears of memories worth recalling every second.
