As always, this podcast has an audio version available everywhere you can get a podcast.
Thanks for showing my kit in the gallery.
You guys are so funny !
Thanks for sending it in!
A truly amazing collection by such a talented and innovative modelmaker. And a really nice fella. Thanks for featuring Joe.
Thank you Steve!
Trust me, we know who Joe is on the Clubhouse. :)
We always give him a hard time in his build threads because he will have something looking good, then go back in with the grinder and change things. He'll be 99% done and start hacking and grinding and start over because he wasn't 100% happy with it. The dude is fearless.
Great episode guys. Ignore Scuzz. He's a grumpy old man that hates everything. He's been complaining about WF for years, but I don't remember him ever talking about ever being there. If it's dying, then why do the dealers room, and hotel rooms keep selling out earlier and earlier every year?
Thank you Trevor! My kit bashes are never really finished ….
Well that just cost me a bloody fortune - I was supposed to be working this-afternoon (well-worth it though!) 🙂
Having our friend Joe on here was cool. He comes over just as charming, humble, amiable & pleasant as his posts on The Clubhouse would suggest - he is a *_VERY_* valued member of the forum. Love the accent too Joe!
Those of us on The Clubhouse have gratefully followed the various builds Joe has shared over the years, so we will have seen most of these before, but it was great to get a guided video tour.
Without doubt, Joe & his Wife have the coolest house and displays of anyone in the hobby - truly spectacular. Joe’s imagination & talent (and his Wife’s understanding) being the icing on the cake.
I’m betting this totally blew a few minds (seriously - how does *_ANYONE_* follow that?!?), and thank-you Joe for having the courage to show your face & home to the RUclips crowd. Please keep up the (seemingly unending - in a good way) work my friend!
A few specifics:
• 22:30 - Scott needs a *_TRIPLE_* feature of Kurt Russell movies - *_“Little China”_* is OK, but *_“The Thing”_* is a masterpiece (on so many levels), and you didn’t mention *_“Escape From New York”_* !
• 1:11:05 - The Sideshow Pumpkinhead prepaint (a collaboration with Stan Winston) that Joe talks about - there were only 150 of those made (I was lucky enough to snag one).
They are now selling for upwards of $7k USD because current owners are loathe to sell 😯
• 1:27:36 - I adore all of Joe’s creations, but that (recently completed) 2-level shark hunter (with the cave & “tadpole”) is my current fave 😎
• 1:57:00 - That *_IMMENSE_* Balrog head on the garage wall makes me gasp & shake my head in wonderment every time I see it - I’d *_LOVE_* to own that! 😍
• 2:13:13 - *_“Falling off my chair laughing”_* moment #1 - Mr. Johansen’s 8th grade English teacher writing *_“I find Scott’s lack of effort appalling”_* - so funny 😂
• 2:15:00 - Getting Scuzz to work on grammar? - good luck with that - we’ve been trying for YEARS 😇
• 2:24:05 - *_“Falling off my chair laughing”_* moment #2 - Tim’s nameplate - the suggested name for Jason’s hot-dog stand - I *_REALLY_* laughed out loud at that too! 🤣
Great show as always guys - well-done!
.
I second everything you just said Spike!!!🤩
Joe Heil … a Bashing Master
Keep cutting and creating!
Love how you fill the interstitial spaces with your visions 😉
Thanks!!
It was an honor being on the show. Thank you for the kind words spike !
It must take some guts to cut those expensive kits up for a "bash" project, so hats off to Joe for his courage and creativity!
Thank you very much !
Enjoyed the episode… Thank you both. Amazing kit bashing.
Thank you for the positive feedback!
Great show as always. I bought a few kits from Whitworth Sculpture Studio and never had an issue. Joe's collection is mad cool.
Thank you for making me glad that I went on the show!
You know, I have a whole section of my site dedicated to Mad Lab Models. Plenty of pics you could have grabbed if you wanted.
I love the Super Tiny Terrors line. I have 10 of them so far, and 9 of them are actually done. I do need to find a base for the last one, as the one I have doesn't have the base.
And yeah, some of these people on ebay are crazy. $150 for a super tiny terror! $200+ for a tiny terror!
Scott - on that test shot Penguin. I say build it, but don't paint it.
That's what I did with my Prehistoric Scenes test shots. I built them with no glue and have them on display. They look great on the display shelf.
I have one of those old dremels too. Mine started whining and grinding a few years ago and I thought I was going to have to replace it. But then I dropped it, and it quit making noise and works just fine. Those old ones were built to last and take a beating.
Gonna have to call it a night and watch the rest of this in the morning.
Been having fun so far.
It would be great if alot of them would be reissued.. Some are not great to me
Nice episode. Glad the Drogon kit made it OK Have fun with it Joe!
Thank you John ! I have a few ideas already…
Great episode and what a fantastic collection Joe!
Thank you !
Gorgeous collection!
Thank you!
Very talented modeler great job.
Thank you !
The big creature from the black lagoon was from Monster Direct and sculpted by Oyama.
The C B reference is about the CB radio fad. They would receive their misson assignments over their CB Radio. I would agree with Jason, It's A Wonderful Life isn't really a Christmas movie. LOL
Glad I am not alone!!!
Good episode, enjoyable as awlays
Well done Joe- KP
Thanks Kevin!
This should be a blast - REALLY looking forward to it! 🙂
16:40 Scott holds up his fingers about the size of super tiny terrors. Half what he shows. They are about 1-2 inches.
Like that Kong kit!
All Doom and Gloomers , sending big hugs, as lol u may not have had enough as children. 😂
eeeewww hugs
Agree 100 % about TWebb
The reason we’re here ..
You need to do a proper unboxing of the Monarch Moonsuit!
Tell Scott to get off his ass and film it ;)
@@modelclubtv Scott!!!(
I wonder if Scott, will buy Captain Condom when it's available.?
That moon suit , is a farce almost a mad magazine parody ..
Seriously, walking around with large trashcan around that person..
Lots of luck.. Maybe Jason, can make Scott a moon suit costume for Wonderfest.....................
Since, Jason, claims he's artistically inclined...
I would love to see Scott in a Moon Suit!
How has Scott not seen The Thing and Jamie hasn't seen The Princess Bride?!?
Scott, is stuck in bubble of his own making.. A good Iron man contest will straighten him out
I have no clue! I shot her a look like wtf?
My Canadian Robin does NOT have a punch mark.
Why not have T. Webb on a live show ?
The censor button will be on fire! I think What I am going to do is have people submit questions and ask some of those.
Oh, good,.. grief... Never watched BIg Trouble In Little China.. Shame...
it's pronounced Spine-o-saurus
Joe's collection would be a whole lot more impressive if they were PAINTED! Otherwise you're just a hoarder. Always nice to see something painted by Saul "I use too much transparent black" Alverez too.
ouch ;)
It was truly an honor being on the show. Thank you for the kind words spike!
