Thank you for remembering Bill. I played this recording for him on the morning of September 15th 1980. A peaceful morning. A day of Eternal Ascension.
Laurie I am so grateful for your comment. It's very surreal that someone so close to Bill has heard this. We are both very touched by his music and wished to honor him.
I hope you are well.
Rupert
It’s makes me moving
I think she just meant she played it in bills honor when he died. I don’t think she knows bill. He died September 15th.
Yes I played this in honor of and for Bill on September 15th as I was there with Bill that last morning of his earthly life.
Undercurrent is my favourite album of all time. I just keep coming back to it time and time again. It is a stunning recording and you both do massive justice to this masterpiece. Bravo.
Great stuff guys. This is one of my favourite albums. You did a good job it sounded like you enjoyed it.
Beautiful rendition and very nice video production as well. Thank you for sharing.
Such a great job from both of you. This is one of my favorite jazz songs. Cheers from Costa Rica.
this is gold. I've been listening to this song for years, and this is the first time I see people cover it really well. thank you RUclips recommendations. love this cover.
Great playing!!
Definitely deserves more views
Beautiful!
Fantastic job guys! Wonderful to listen to. Are you planning on doing more covers from Undercurrent? Would love to hear it.
Keren sekali. Terus berkarya Mas Rupert dan Mas Stuart! ♥️✨
really love it
Love it!
Lovely.
Well played you guys!
Thank you!
Well done. 👍
Incredible!
very beautiful interpretation , you two should do your own interpretation as well and compare the two, I think it would be interedting to hear the two dimensions of the possible interpretation ie the direct influence of Evans/Hall and the interpretation the standard itself. I think it would be interesting.
I love this piece. Great job guys. I wondered many times, can you play it with the right feeling if have never been in Central Park?
You guys deserve so much more😔
Pianist nailed the gliss at 3:04 and guitarist smiled like "niceeee" ... you must have discussed it in practice?! Lol
❤❤❤

Will this also work if you have a piano and acoustic guitar instead of electric? Because the guitar even though its electric it sounds acoustic.
Yes of course! Music is music. Your acoustic will just have a different tone, it may be a bit brighter. And you may want to play a little softer on the piano as the guitar may not be amplified. But you could mic up the acoustic if you wanted!
My guitar had a mic on the amp and on the front of the guitar, that's probably why it sounds a bit like an acoustic.
Fire
play well
Excellent work! where can i get the score?
Hey man,
I transcribed the guitar part myself and the piano solos, but I'm pretty sure we found a transcription (with a few mistakes) for both parts www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=sheets-piano.ru/wp-content/uploads/2013/04/Bill-Evans-Rare-Transcriptions-2.pdf&ved=2ahUKEwjyl6yt-tzpAhXJxzgGHb87C8cQFjAAegQIBRAB&usg=AOvVaw07dDB1XGlWES46zPQ9cu3a
@@ruperth8902 Great video! Any chance you still have the arrangement? It seems like the file was removed from the site
@@calwilson5457 Hey mate, its your lucky day, I found the pdf on my old laptop. However, I do remember it being flawed in some ways ( I transcribed the piano solos myself by ear just for an exercise ). If you'd still like it, send me your email
@@ruperth8902 would you happen to still have it?
young Rupert or should I say yung Rupert
