How about Accordion versus Guitar? It can be shown which one is the best mobile accompaniment busking instruments. Or Harpsichord versus Guitar? The Harpsichord basically is the guitar played with a keyboard.
I used to listen to Liona Boyd a lot some years ago but times and life got in the way and I haven't heard the lovely sounds of classical guitar in some time. This was a wonderful collaboration between a pair of very talented people and reminded me of those days so many years ago. :)

As a guitarist I obviously am biassed to the guitar. But honestly, I think the instruments nicely complement each other. How about recording some full dual plays of these pieces? ❤
I agree! I am also a classical guitarist but love this. For some reason I haven’t heard too many recordings of guitar with piano, it’s usually with a string quartet or a full orchestra (which I personally think tends to drown out the guitar.) Now, the big question; is the piano a string or a percussion instrument? (Ducking for cover!)

Wow, I wasn‘t aware of how amazing a guitar could sound! It is an Instrument that is played by so many people, but most seem to be at an intermediate or even beginner level.
Well, it is the difference between classical guitar and normal pop acoustic guitar. The former is for solo performance and has a great deal of pieces composed for it.
@@drogoking what? The steel-string acoustic guitar has the same fretboard and uses the same principles of sound production. Because of that, both the classical guitar and the steel-string acoustic guitar can be played solo. Spanish, or the classical, guitar is typically accompanied by other instruments, just like the acoustic guitar most of the time. The only difference is in the type of sound that those guitars produce due to different materials used for their strings. All pieces composed for the classical guitar can be played on the steel-string acoustic, too.
I am a guitarist and pianist, and a teacher of both instruments. For me both instruments are equally beautiful. Each one has its own very special sound.
For Spanish/Latin music, the guitar; but for the other music offered here, the piano sounds slightly better to me. What amazing talents you two combined here!! Thank you, for sharing them.

I kind of grew up on both. I listened to a lot of PBS (Public Broadcasting Station) here in the US. They play mostly classical music. Additionally, my dad is a self-taught guitarist. Later, he would end up taking a college course on properly playing the classical guitar. At any rate, I listen to Spanish classical guitar when I'm at work. Still amazes me how closely the guitar gets to a piano in pitch is aesthetically pleasing to the ear. Oh, nearly forgot to mention that I like Ritchie Blackmore, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, et al. They practically altered my appreciation of rock music and music in general. Especially regarding the guitar. By trade, I am a self-taught bass player. I'm not as fluent as either of the above guitarists nor my father on the bass. I can keep a rhythm and melody.

I like both instruments but I think that it depends on the song. There are songs in which a guitar fits best and songs in which the piano fits best. I actually believe that the songs were written based on a specific instrument from the beginning for a reason! Congratulations to both of you for your great performance!!! (Sorry for my English. This was a very pleasant change from your normal content, I'm honestly subscribed to this channel to listen to some classical or nice recreated modern music and also learn something so I really liked hearing the difference between piano and guitar with the same songs
Daqui de Portugal para dizer que quer guitarra quer piano tocado ambos por excelentes executantes, o que me leva a pensar que passam muitas horas por dia praticando, são uma delícia para o ouvinte. Mas e o talento de quem os toca ? Claro que têm muito talento. Só que aqui em Portugal o povo diz que o talento, a fama sucesso e a sorte dá muito trabalho.
Both instruments are great! We just choose one or another for the atmosphere of gathering event. Piano is more formal, strict, but guitar is more casual cozy to open soul.
You can't drag the bulky Piano to the street busking. But Guitar can. Depends on which kind of concert place is. The Piano is more like a indoor chamber instrument. The piano is mostly can be seen on a concert stage in the concert hall, music studio, cafe & pub. It more like a concert instrument. The Guitar sound is very quiet it cannot project further in a large concert hall(around a 10 audience concert on the street). It could bring to everywhere but isn't count as a concert instrument.

Daqui de Portugal para dizer que quer guitarra quer piano tocado ambos por excelentes executantes, o que me leva a pensar que passam muitas horas por dia praticando, são uma delícia para o ouvinte. Mas e o talento de quem os toca ? Claro que têm muito talento. Só que aqui em Portugal o povo diz que o talento, a fama sucesso e a sorte dá muito trabalho.

Both instruments are great! We just choose one or another for the atmosphere of gathering event.
Piano is more formal, strict, but guitar is more casual cozy to open soul.
You can't drag the bulky Piano to the street busking. But Guitar can. Depends on which kind of concert place is. The Piano is more like a indoor chamber instrument. The piano is mostly can be seen on a concert stage in the concert hall, music studio, cafe & pub. It more like a concert instrument. The Guitar sound is very quiet it cannot project further in a large concert hall(around a 10 audience concert on the street). It could bring to everywhere but isn't count as a concert instrument.
