Which of these techniques will you use in your feather paintings from now on?
I've said it before but you are amazing to watch and your techniques astound me. Such a steady hand! The feather is beautiful Paul!
You are so welcome Sherry, keep those brushes wet please. 😊
@@TheDevonArtist I intend to wet my brushes today. Heaven only knows why, but I'm painting a black and white cow-- mainly its face and shoulder.🙂
Beautiful video by the way. I love how you go into detail how to make this painting.

Thank you very much Sinchu, that's very kind of you. 😀
I love peacocks. I've used the herl for making the bodies of fishing flies. The sounds those bird's make is something I miss. None around here. Great job on that feather.
Thank you very much. Yes, they do make a very loud noise which is easily recognised! LOL Paul 🎨

What are all the 7 colors you used? I watched the video twice and only found 6 colors. Ive got lemon yellow, burnt umber, burnt sienna, pthalo blue, indigo and lamp black.
Plus cadmium orange, thanks for watching. 😊
I'm definitely going to try the skipping technique on feathers. You posted this just in time, I tried to paint a peacock and it came out very blobby lol
LOL, I'm sure you will be fine Brianna, just take your time and if you're not sure, do a little practice piece on some scrap watercolour paper first. Paul 🎨
I'm sure you'll do great!
What did you draw your foundation sketch with?
Hi Amanda, sometime I will freehand sketch, but very often I will use tracedown paper which is the graphite backed type. It just helps you get to the painting stage much quicker, and speeds up my videos for my members. Here is a link to the items I use, so you can see what I mean. Paul 🎨
