I always assumed that the two texts he missed, the 148 of 150, were the first two filming days - they tape 2 studio episodes a day, the numbers check out.
Just like how the episode is my favorite in Taskmaster history, this is my favorite episode of the podcast. People were looking at me funny on the train for laughing so much
I'm just catching up on these, up to speed on the shows, just behind on the podcasts, and weirdly this episode is missing from Spotify......So glad it's up here, TY
people say he should have gotten points for th phone thing. It would not be nearly as legendary without that final twist of no points. I always assumed he's aware of that. Not that he was during the recording itself.
Nish is unashamedly honest about his shit performance, almost to the point of pride (my observation only, not a criticism). Mark, regardless of his personal opinion of Nish, doesn't want to be seen the same way. Their pairing for group tasks (which probably would have haunted whichever person paired with Nish) didn't give Mark the chance to control every aspect but did come good at the end. But even with the solo tasks Mark's most memorable ones were those where he went in completely and failed miserably (e.g trousers, texts, hat w/neon sign). Frankly, I just think that Mark wants more credit for his successes because he worked so hard. It's the A student wanting to know why he only got a B and needing reassurance that he's still smart.
I love how Mark's very much aware of the common misconception that he did badly on the show. I feel there's a couple of others that finished better than people think, like Jessica Knappett and Joe Thomas. Also, Bob did pretty badly in Champion of Champions, so I could only imagine Mark making a comnplete shitshow of everything
I've said it before and I'll say it again: mark didn't stand on the ground! He stood on the grass! if a rug isn't the ground then grass isn't the ground either 5 points to Mark
I think they stopped doing them for a while so when they did return it would have more impact. And holy shit it worked, because I'd say Mike's farting task is easily the best of them.
It's incredible RUclips has to resort to advertisements about weird medicines or shady ways to make lots of money, it sucks that even a respected website now do this bullshit
You could pay for RUclips premium? I can't see the five seconds before you skip a video being the most effective use of advertising money for most large companies.
late reply, but Finland is both part of Scandinavia and not. There are three definitions of Scandinavia, one broad definition that includes Finland, Faroe islands, Åland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden and Denmark (based on geography and history), then you have Scandinavia based on georgaphy that actually excludes Denmark, and last you have cultural Scandinavia that is Norway, Sweden and Denmark. So we are still one big family, even though the finish and icelandic ones are little bit like our weird distant cousins :P
I could be wrong, but I always thought Scandinavia meant the peninsula. That would include Finland by default, or at least parts of it. It would be like the Iberian peninsula which includes Spain and Portugal. I never really considered the Danes or others Scandinavian people, but their culture definitely came from there.
Not excited about next week’s guest. You should wait until you can get ahold of someone actually related to the series you’re discussing instead of rushing things and cranking out episodes with random people. This week’s episode was good, though
The idea of Mark Watson essentially kidnapping Nish Kumar and taking him to Hungary both fills my heart with joy and terror at the same time.
14:00 - 24:00 is when they discuss the trousers heist
Thank you for your service 🫡

the song he did with Nish was legendary

I'll never be as funny or talented as Mark Watson. But at least I can open a bloody briefcase. :P
If it's bloody you must have struggled quite a bit.
You should see the episode of QI where James Acaster also displays his inability to open a briefcase.
and blow up a balloon
he can too. It's easy after he first time.
Mark is one of my favourites. Earnest. Trying so hard. These attributes resonate with me.
I love Mark. He tries his best but it's never good enough...
Straight from the herons mouth
Makes sense that the one having the legally compromising predictions would be Sally
Imagining Watson on Bear Grylls’ is far better than watching it could ever be, so I’m not even going to try to find it.
We need sally phillips on the podcast!
The twitter conversation between Mark and Ed is fucking hilarious

Fell in love with Watto on this show. NMJ also, so great 😃
sally said something that was legally compromising ??? how does that even work i'm so confused i wanna now what's going on

Mark should have taken a photo of himself in Greg's trousers
Huge fan, but why didn't anyone move Alex and the table next to the trolley. That's was literally my first thought.

Grass is produced by the ground, a rug is not the ground. What is the ground if not grass?
Immediately likes as i saw Mark Watson!!!! LOL
Why didn't they give Ed a solo task like Josh or Mark? Him losing it in the studio would have been one of the all-time moments in the show.
I think they stopped doing them for a while so when they did return it would have more impact. And holy shit it worked, because I'd say Mike's farting task is easily the best of them.
Oh, quick this week
Just out of spite, I refuse to feel uncomfortable and sad.
"Poland, Denmark, Georgia... Poland, Denmark, Georgia..." ♥♥♥
It would be great to see your faces
Please no :(. I love podcasts and hate it when they include video because then there will inherently be things that dont work as audio only

I'm always surprised how impressed people are with the apple trick, every German I know was taught how to do that as a kid.
As a German, I first saw that on WiltY, and nobody I showed it to had yet known it nor believed it was possible before seeing it.
Interesting, my grandfather taught me, and most of my friends at school knew it to. We would always share apples that way. Must be a local thing.

@@krisisk1 The broad definition is Nordic though.

:-)
Why is Mark trying to disassociate from Nish so much??? :(
Yoko Ono
He's not! It's more light-headed yeah I did well but Nish dragged me down 😂

One of my top 5 series. Great contestant. Very enjoyable on No More Jockeys, too.
