    Biggest problem with a crane is pushing the tool beyond its limit. What you can get away with and how big a piece you should take are often maxed out. You have a good crew and you did this job safely. I sold my crane because it just was an expensive machine to keep up. Now we just sub the crane. Great editing

    • @AugustHunicke

      I have a good friend with a crane and he gives me a fair rate. I just add it to the job. So much of our work is very different from your “open area” jobs. Most of my work is in tight properties with fences and lack of access. High end estate properties with clients with too much money.

    • @AugustHunicke
      @AugustHunicke  5 лет назад

      arboristBlairGlenn We have a lot of tight quarters stuff here too (my vid Bad Trees 5 etc. etc etc.) but the clients seldom have “too much money,“ so I learned how to rig crane jobs without a crane years ago, and now I have one 😎.

    • @AugustHunicke
      @AugustHunicke  5 лет назад

      We use various ropes, usually 11.5. ITS NOT THE IMPOSTER ZAG WRENCH, it's the original Reon Rounds tether, not the blatant copy of Reon's work that Brandt weaseled into production.

    Dear August Recently just got into tree logging ,been watching your videos and enjoying them a lot, my background is sound running a small studio and live sound systems in Norfolk United Kingdom, Now the critical bit, Please can you lower the music levels as they way too loud, example on this video the first track i had to turn down my volume because it was to loud .when you start talking again its too soft because my ears have adjusted to the loud music so i have to turn it up again...near the end of the video the music was perfect level..dont trust laptops audio buy a tower pc with studio monitors £100 buck buys a lot these days for good monitors , keep up the awsome videos be safe

I've learned a lot in the tree but I've been climbing "old school" and while your chunking out trees I see you always have some sort of fall arrest on your D ring. The further the boom has to go out of the center, the less picking force.... but now I’m just wondering (and you can try and confirm) that: does gravity pull more on a log when you pick it high of the ground or is it always the same? I quess I didn’t pay to much attention in school with physics, sorry... It’s a little bit mindboggling for me, altough common sense tell me that an airplane weighs as much in the sky as on the ground, it just falls faster when it is higher, hahaha

    • @AugustHunicke
      @AugustHunicke  5 лет назад +1

      +Tsjoni well I guess the air is thinner reeeeeeeaaaal high but yeah at Tree heights, it’s heavy at one foot as it is at 100. It’s the angles and the movement and the wind and the stability that we have to watch... and the weight.
