To see Red Harlow, John Marston, and Arthur Morgan all standing together is just so badass to me...What's even more shocking to me is how fucking amazing Red Harlow looks as a remake character. It literally is perfect and exactly how i imagined he would look if they EVER did a remake of Red Dead: Revolver . He looks amazing. Shouts out to the person who re-imagined him. Im so used to seeing him in low polygon and all pixelly in the classic video game on ps2, but to see this wow ..We need Red Harlow to come back.
The way I see it, Red Dead's three main protagonists represent different gunslinger tropes, expanding greately on those. Red Harlow is motivated by revenge and fame, trying to live up to his father's greatness while avenging his death. John Marston is a family man who sacrifices everything to be along with his family but that ultimately fails to avoid falling into Ross's trap, and Arthur is a good man hidden under bad past choices, who must choose if he takes revenge and money over good will and redemption. The tjree of them are great in their own ways but Arthur is something else
Oh my Gosh same, keep the story the same and have him live at the end so you can be able to play the game afterwards. Open world, clothes customization, weapon customization, add side quests, and so on. Just have it in the same gameplay and engine as RDR2, it would be perfect.
Thing is about red dead revolver is that it is canon. But the events we take part in is like a story being told. That’s why so many things are so fantastical. Reason is because every red dead game mentions red Harlow and the events that took place in the game. But they mention him as if he’s a legend. So his story being told in the game is a dramatized version of actual events that happened
He's definitely Cannon. For example do you hear Claude, Tommy, or CJ mentioned in Gta IV or V? No because that's a different universe. But in the Case of Red Dead they literally name drop Red Harlow more than once. He's definitely cannon.
@@Candypants217 I believe the gta characters you mention all take place in the same universe but just aren’t mentioned because, why would the new characters mention them. Those games take place in the 60s-90s so they have no reason to bring them up really

Claude, Tommy Vercetti, and Carl Johnson do not exist in the world of GTA 4 and 5. They never existed in that world, according to the Houser brothers and others within Rockstar Games.
Looking at the lore, Arthur is the real deal and a tough SOB, John is very capable but mostly gotta be pushed into things, and can struggle with things Arthur would have done easier (like capturing Bill Williamson) and John can be a little dumb. Red is a killer, no rest needed no gang or posse wanted, Red is up there with Landon Ricketts a legend of the old west, the real deal.

And he never trusted Micah, he wanted to leave him swing in strawberry but Dutch ordered him to go. Arthur agreed with Hosea on everything, when didn’t he listen to him? But Dutch was the boss even Hosea new that and went along with things. While John was an idiot for going back, he went North that’s established but came back to a place he KNEW he was a wanted man and bought property under his real name, you think Arthur would have done that with all his years of experience on the run? No, he wouldn’t have. And I guarantee you he wouldn’t have rocked up to Bill Williamsons’ door and just stood there and got shot like an idiot, he’d have watched waited and when the time was right struck when Bill didn’t stand a chance, similar to Dutch Arthur and Sadie in Saint Denis with Colm hanging he’d have actually planned it out. He’s definitely a better hand to hand fighter, shooting is about equal but assessing a situation, planning and toughness you gotta give it to Arthur. As far as the Arthur being captured, again that was somebody else’s mistake and what did he do huh? He kicked their asses and escaped. He didn’t need Bonnie McFarlane to drag him away after he was left for dead by the idiot Bill Williamson.

My headcanon is that in that time Red was a mythological figure much like Paul Bunyan, but the game itself is the storyline of the book "Red Dead" written later by Jack Marston, which we see on bookshelves in GTA V.

No they separated their worlds. They did the same with GTA. That's why Tommy Versetti is never mentioned. The HD world is separate. Though technically Red is cannon in the HD world as he is mentioned.

Red Dead Redemption was meant to be a direct sequel to Revolver. You can tell due to John having a similar appearance to Red Harlow. I guess Rockstar wanted to start fresh.
Red Harlow is the original John, they just remade him when the story was essentially overhauled into a more polish game/story line in the first red dead. But the overhauled makes them very different characters at the same time, different story, different name, different origin, different personality but almost the same design.
I remember playing this as a kid and mistaken it for gun when I got closer to my teens, the coffin dude gave me nightmares which turned out to be some cool DLC dream involving a witch doctor avoiding potions, that's how unique the bosses were in game
I believe John is just the updated hd version of him so that's why they can't make red dead revolver cannon,Rockstar thought everyone forgot about the game and that it was just the ps2 era when they were making RDR with John Marston.But a reebot of Red Dead Revolver could fix this if they ever decide to do one,so he can be considered cannon too and maybe make him the main protagonist of the next RDR game
PS4/Xbox got HD upscales of the PS2/Xbox era. I'm replaying Revolver for a second time via PS4 and I love that HD Remaster of the PS2 it looks great to me.

Him killing Governor Griffon makes him an outlaw. That's why the sheriff offers the $5k as a makeshift bounty for them with the sole purpose of funding Red's escape.
Since John Marston was an orphan, I believe his father could have been Red Harlow. They do look alike. Marston's dad was killed in a bar fight, and Red caused a few bar fights in his time. It's possible.
It couldn't have been, his father was Scottish. Red is half white American half American Indian. Also John's mother was a prostitute, meaning that John's father paid John's mother to have sex with him and she got pregnant. I bring this up because it would seem out of character for Red to go about having sex with prostitutes, he wasn't like that so it makes no sense for his character to do that.
i think its more likely that red harlow (a story that i believe was written by jack) is based on john marston, same scars for the most part, and its not like jack knew the ins and outs of what his dad was doing, but he did probably know about his bounty hunting in rdr1, i think that jack made the story, and since its a story he needed to add alot more intense things that were not realistic (like the one bad guy who blew himself up with tnt over and over again) and its not hard to imagine that jack didnt want to tell the part where his dad was murdered, so red harlow just walks away and says it wasnt for the money. then theres the question about johns parents, we know his dad was scottish, which could be red dad, but the mother was never confirmed, meaning if johns mother was native, theres a very good chance imo that john marston is the cannon version of red harlow.
Sure Uncle being Red Harlow is a theory, but a lot of the evidence is not vague in the slightest. But things that contradict it is some of his other stories like HIS uncle, and the fishing story that talks about his "kid-brother", and the story about him forced to marry someone, as well as his deep phycological takes in Shady Belle around the campfire.

@C L S Uncle is missing Red’s prominent over the nose scar, and the only way for a beard to hide scars is if it’s a tiny one. Red’s scars are too big to be able to be covered up by facial hair, because like I said before, beards dont grow on scar tissue. It’s why Arthur’s chin is missing a patch of facial hair when you let his beard grow out a bit, same thing with John.
I remember playing this game when I was like 5-6, it's honestly one of my favorite games of all time because of the memory it hold for me, plus red is a bad ass and has a cool name

If you look closely on Uncles face in rdr you can see a scar on his face above his beard, in the same place Red has one but Uncles beard covers up the rest of the scar
I remember buying this for my Dad for his birthday, he almost 100% the game it was one of his favorites at the time cause he liked how it was kinda like a Clint Eastwood game. He also did the same to GTA V, MGS4-5 and all 3 Dark souls.

Gun for ps2 done by activision was an absolute beast in terms of gaming back like 2004/05 , i see many similiar traits between Colton White the protagonist and Red Harlow ,Gun is really underated its story,character development and storyline is just a classic, would have been sweet if they did a remake.
Uncle has to be Red. Same burn scar on their right hand, and they both have similar physical features and also the nose scar (the cheek scars could be hidden by uncles beard).

I’d like to think that after the events of red dead revolver he went off by himself to do some self reflecting then eventually coming back and settling down with Annie Stoakes and is just living a low key ranch live with Annie during red dead redemption 1 and 2
I'd honestly love a more simple western plot like this in a modern game that has the level of detail as rdr2 Just a kill list, and badass gunslinging with a focus on amazing feeling gunplay
or a red dead revolver remake, its so dated now that i feel like it could really use one, its just that rockstar is in charge and i dont have faith in them anymore
One thing I've never seen discussed when it comes to possible RDR3 storylines is the possibility of bringing back Red Harlow. I think RDR3 should be about tying him to the Redemption series somehow. It would be a perfect end to the franchise.

Plus the fact Red Harlow is a badass silent type gunslinger while uncle is a lazy old loudmouth drunk. I want Red Harlow back in a red dead game so bad but I wouldn’t want his legacy to be tarnished for him to be uncle which makes no sense anyway. Red has scars embedded into his skin and nose and a scorpion burned into his palm. Uncle has none of these. Scars can fade but not disappear entirely. Look at John in the epilogue his scars are faded a bit but still very present and a beard can’t fully cover scars. And the people that want to say”oh his scars could have been embellished and blah blah.” You’re literally taking everything that makes Red Harlow who he is away from his character. Why? Just so people can tie all games together? I will never understand this theory. And this is coming from someone who used to believe it until I got embedded in red dead lore and played red dead revolver. People just need to accept the fact that uncle being red makes absolutely zero sense. I’m just trying to show people how stupid this theory is especially since a lot of the red dead community wants to believe it. And he’s one of my favorite characters ever made and it upsets me that so many goddamn people want to believe such a nonsensical theory that makes no sense at all and people just want take everything that makes Red Harlow who he is just so they can say red is in all 3 games. For those wondering why Red said to give the $5000 bounty to Annie and Buffalo Soldier, saying "It never was about the money." after being upset about the late gold payment... Red's father owned the Bear Valley gold mine with his partner, and had two revolvers custom made (the most powerful revolvers), one belonged to him and another to his partner, Griffin. Red's father's revolver was destroyed by the fire after Red shot it last. The only remaining one was with the now Governor Griffin. The reason "it never was about the money" was because Red wanted his "father's" revolver. Which is why we see Red picking up the revolver at 5:26 after killing Griffin.
Considering that red dead is the franchise series, revolver is most likely in the same universe, just the timelines don’t overlap so it wasn’t necessary for redemption to cover it
I hope the next Red Dead game (Which they're making now) is to be called Red Dead Revolver 2, and tells the story about how Red got on after the events of the first one, and maybe tie in all the games, and maybe even confirm that Red is in fact Uncle.

If Rockstar ever decides to make another red dead I think a story for red would be absolutely amazing could be set after the events of revolver or during .ideally i think a reimageing of revolver but in now traditional red dead formula

I'm over Rockstar playing games with everyone. First they made Red a myth, knowing that everyone was waiting to see him do something in the new franchise. Then they never mention CJ in GTA 5, knowing that everyone wanted to know what he was up to. Now we've been waiting on a Blackwater backstory DLC for years, and they've given us nothing. Been waiting on GTA 6 for years and they've given us nothing. They instead think it'll be funnier to toss out the occasional Easter egg and see the reaction. They could have this big expanded universe, but instead they love fucking with fans.
If Rockstar makes another Red Dead game, I hope they make it about the (true) story of Uncle. Red Harlow and Red Dead Revolver was imo them salvaging what they acquired back in the day, not necessarily a set story they had in mind in its entirety. Makes you wonder why after all the years afterwards when they started working on Red Dead Redemption, that it took place during the very tail-end of the "wild west." Now that we have 2 Red Dead games (the sequel being a prequel), the third would be insane if it went back further during a more truer wild west era. It almost lines up too well if they go this route if you account for the similar/evolving themes in both Red Dead games. Like who is the main character aligned with, their motivations, allies, who betrays them, etc. Consider the roles and involvement of the Native Americans with both games also btw. As in having a third game about a character VERY intimately close with the Native Americans. Red Harlow is the perfect pick given that he's of Native American descent. I think Rockstar cleverly had Uncle be a potential write-in for this role since he's been the lazy one of the gang. His later death would be very fitting with all this in mind. Him being lazy in both games was literally him leaving it all behind and never looking back, until he fights for John's family at Beecher's Hope. It would be cool as hell also if one were to go back to the older RDR games after this route and seeing Uncle again in them. As in it would be a fully-contained overarching story within this possible trilogy. Doesn't have to be beat-for-beat remake of Revolver btw. And finally, them going further back in time opens up the easiest setting for a greedy Online mode: the California Gold Rush-era, lol.
If u look really close at uncle's face he does have very faded scars in the same place as harlow just the age makes it hard to tell plus is beard has grown to cover them but you can faintly see the ones closest to his mouth and it looks like he may have a faint scar on his nose in the same spot as Harlow
Man I'd love to see R* remake Revolver and really put it into the Red Dead Universe for real. Like they could make it open world too. I'd love the shit out of that.
I feel very blessed that I’ve gotten to experience all 3 red dead games growing up. Red Dead 4 should be a more realistic open world story of Red Harlow. I mean the entire franchise is named after him afterall.
I knew I wasn't crazy. I knew I played a Red Dead game and loved it before Redemption came out. I was so confused at the time because no one even mentioned Revolver in passing. It was just completely forgotten and everyone acted like Redemption was the first Red Dead game.

Red is in all 3 games, but he had to leave the gun-slinging to John and Arthur for Red Dead Redemption 1 & 2 because of his terminal lumbago.

But Dutch was the boss even Hosea new that and went along with things. While John was an idiot for going back, he went North that’s established but came back to a place he KNEW he was a wanted man and bought property under his real name, you think Arthur would have done that with all his years of experience on the run? No, he wouldn’t have. And I guarantee you he wouldn’t have rocked up to Bill Williamsons’ door and just stood there and got shot like an idiot, he’d have watched waited and when the time was right struck when Bill didn’t stand a chance, similar to Dutch Arthur and Sadie in Saint Denis with Colm hanging he’d have actually planned it out. He’s definitely a better hand to hand fighter, shooting is about equal but assessing a situation, planning and toughness you gotta give it to Arthur. As far as the Arthur being captured, again that was somebody else’s mistake and what did he do huh? He kicked their asses and escaped. He didn’t need Bonnie McFarlane to drag him away after he was left for dead by the idiot Bill Williamson.

Red Dead Redemption was meant to be a direct sequel to Revolver. You can tell due to John having a similar appearance to Red Harlow. I guess Rockstar wanted to start fresh.
Red Harlow is the original John, they just remade him when the story was essentially overhauled into a more polish game/story line in the first red dead. But the overhauled makes them very different characters at the same time, different story, different name, different origin, different personality but almost the same design.
I remember playing this as a kid and mistaken it for gun when I got closer to my teens, the coffin dude gave me nightmares which turned out to be some cool DLC dream involving a witch doctor avoiding potions, that's how unique the bosses were in game

I believe John is just the updated hd version of him so that's why they can't make red dead revolver cannon,Rockstar thought everyone forgot about the game and that it was just the ps2 era when they were making RDR with John Marston.But a reebot of Red Dead Revolver could fix this if they ever decide to do one,so he can be considered cannon too and maybe make him the main protagonist of the next RDR game

Since John Marston was an orphan, I believe his father could have been Red Harlow. They do look alike. Marston's dad was killed in a bar fight, and Red caused a few bar fights in his time. It's possible.
It couldn't have been, his father was Scottish. Red is half white American half American Indian.
Also John's mother was a prostitute, meaning that John's father paid John's mother to have sex with him and she got pregnant. I bring this up because it would seem out of character for Red to go about having sex with prostitutes, he wasn't like that so it makes no sense for his character to do that.

i think its more likely that red harlow (a story that i believe was written by jack) is based on john marston, same scars for the most part, and its not like jack knew the ins and outs of what his dad was doing, but he did probably know about his bounty hunting in rdr1, i think that jack made the story, and since its a story he needed to add alot more intense things that were not realistic (like the one bad guy who blew himself up with tnt over and over again) and its not hard to imagine that jack didnt want to tell the part where his dad was murdered, so red harlow just walks away and says it wasnt for the money. then theres the question about johns parents, we know his dad was scottish, which could be red dad, but the mother was never confirmed, meaning if johns mother was native, theres a very good chance imo that john marston is the cannon version of red harlow.
Sure Uncle being Red Harlow is a theory, but a lot of the evidence is not vague in the slightest. But things that contradict it is some of his other stories like HIS uncle, and the fishing story that talks about his "kid-brother", and the story about him forced to marry someone, as well as his deep phycological takes in Shady Belle around the campfire.
All the evidence is extremely vague.

Red’s scars are too big to be able to be covered up by facial hair, because like I said before, beards dont grow on scar tissue. It’s why Arthur’s chin is missing a patch of facial hair when you let his beard grow out a bit, same thing with John.
I remember playing this game when I was like 5-6, it's honestly one of my favorite games of all time because of the memory it hold for me, plus red is a bad ass and has a cool name

When i was 9 or 10 years old, I played the hell out of this game. Completed it multiple times, got every cheat. But I never finished to get all the multiplayer characters.. and they were many

If you look closely on Uncles face in rdr you can see a scar on his face above his beard, in the same place Red has one but Uncles beard covers up the rest of the scar
I like how the enemy’s in the games progress from cartonnish to realistic
I remember buying this for my Dad for his birthday, he almost 100% the game it was one of his favorites at the time cause he liked how it was kinda like a Clint Eastwood game. He also did the same to GTA V, MGS4-5 and all 3 Dark souls.

Gun for ps2 done by activision was an absolute beast in terms of gaming back like 2004/05 , i see many similiar traits between Colton White the protagonist and Red Harlow ,Gun is really underated its story,character development and storyline is just a classic, would have been sweet if they did a remake.
not to mention it was the first western open world from what i remember, red dead revolver was very linear, gun is very under-appreciated

One thing I've never seen discussed when it comes to possible RDR3 storylines is the possibility of bringing back Red Harlow. I think RDR3 should be about tying him to the Redemption series somehow. It would be a perfect end to the franchise.

One of my favorite content creators Legends and Killers made a video awhile back paying homage to Red Harlow. I think the outfit he created is pretty damn close to the one Red sports in Revolver!

For those wondering why Red said to give the $5000 bounty to Annie and Buffalo Soldier, saying "It never was about the money." after being upset about the late gold payment...
Red's father owned the Bear Valley gold mine with his partner, and had two revolvers custom made (the most powerful revolvers), one belonged to him and another to his partner, Griffin.
Red's father's revolver was destroyed by the fire after Red shot it last. The only remaining one was with the now Governor Griffin.
The reason "it never was about the money" was because Red wanted his "father's" revolver. Which is why we see Red picking up the revolver at 5:26 after killing Griffin.

Considering that red dead is the franchise series, revolver is most likely in the same universe, just the timelines don’t overlap so it wasn’t necessary for redemption to cover it
I hope the next Red Dead game (Which they're making now) is to be called Red Dead Revolver 2, and tells the story about how Red got on after the events of the first one, and maybe tie in all the games, and maybe even confirm that Red is in fact Uncle.

If Rockstar ever decides to make another red dead I think a story for red would be absolutely amazing could be set after the events of revolver or during .ideally i think a reimageing of revolver but in now traditional red dead formula

I'm over Rockstar playing games with everyone. First they made Red a myth, knowing that everyone was waiting to see him do something in the new franchise. Then they never mention CJ in GTA 5, knowing that everyone wanted to know what he was up to. Now we've been waiting on a Blackwater backstory DLC for years, and they've given us nothing. Been waiting on GTA 6 for years and they've given us nothing. They instead think it'll be funnier to toss out the occasional Easter egg and see the reaction. They could have this big expanded universe, but instead they love fucking with fans.

If Rockstar makes another Red Dead game, I hope they make it about the (true) story of Uncle. Red Harlow and Red Dead Revolver was imo them salvaging what they acquired back in the day, not necessarily a set story they had in mind in its entirety. Makes you wonder why after all the years afterwards when they started working on Red Dead Redemption, that it took place during the very tail-end of the "wild west." Now that we have 2 Red Dead games (the sequel being a prequel), the third would be insane if it went back further during a more truer wild west era. It almost lines up too well if they go this route if you account for the similar/evolving themes in both Red Dead games. Like who is the main character aligned with, their motivations, allies, who betrays them, etc. Consider the roles and involvement of the Native Americans with both games also btw. As in having a third game about a character VERY intimately close with the Native Americans. Red Harlow is the perfect pick given that he's of Native American descent. I think Rockstar cleverly had Uncle be a potential write-in for this role since he's been the lazy one of the gang. His later death would be very fitting with all this in mind. Him being lazy in both games was literally him leaving it all behind and never looking back, until he fights for John's family at Beecher's Hope. It would be cool as hell also if one were to go back to the older RDR games after this route and seeing Uncle again in them. As in it would be a fully-contained overarching story within this possible trilogy. Doesn't have to be beat-for-beat remake of Revolver btw.
And finally, them going further back in time opens up the easiest setting for a greedy Online mode: the California Gold Rush-era, lol.

I knew I wasn't crazy. I knew I played a Red Dead game and loved it before Redemption came out. I was so confused at the time because no one even mentioned Revolver in passing. It was just completely forgotten and everyone acted like Redemption was the first Red Dead game.
