Engineering schools often require chemistry and calculus-based physics. They also require a lot of math (Calculus and Differential Equations). Electronics and Computer Engineering Technology at Penn College requires calculus-based physics and math (Calculus and Differential Equations). We also do a lot of projects which allow the students to gain confidence in being able to build systems. Hope this answer helps!
Electronics and Computer Engineering Technology is a challenging major. But for students who possess a strong work ethic and interest in the field, the rewards are tremendous.
coding is necessary to learn but mainly the purpose of electronics engineering is to focus on analog electronics...... not building toys like she is doing in video
hi guys, the best results that ive ever had was by following the Gregs Electro Blog (just google it) definately the most helpful course that I have ever followed.
Dear Jorgette, very best of luck to you and your projects. There is nothing that one cannot do. I admire you very much and wish I could start my life all over again. You have a very positive down to earth attitude and this will catapult you to higher summits for sure. Please keep us posted on your progress. Very Best of Luck.
Depending on the area of engineering, it is true that some areas need little actual math. You generally have no way of knowing what area you will work in when you start school. An important part of engineering school is a strong background in math and science to allow the engineering problems to be solved. Also, the concepts and techniques learned in math and science, though not used directly in a discipline, are indirectly used in problem solving.
Computer engineers do a lot more than design computers. Very few graduates actually design new computers. Instead the focus is on the software that operates various devices. In our Electronics and Computer Engineering Technology major at Penn College, we use small computers and write the software for them to control robots, gadgets, and even automated assembly lines!
I am transferring to the citadel in Charleston. I was under the impression that my field would be focusing on hardware Can u elaborate more on your statement.
The set of skills you list is the perfect combination for working in the engineering field. Continue to take math and science in school. Learn about computers and software. This will allow you the widest choice of careers when you start college. And when it comes time for college, consider Penn College! Good luck.
The electronics and computer engineering technology degree is a four-year program. More information about the degree can be found via the website listed in the video's description. Perhaps you would like to visit the college to meet our faculty and see the labs for yourself?
Computer science is more oriented towards software algorithms and computational theories. Very little is done with hardware. Computer engineering is oriented towards hardware design and software integration. There is some overlap between computer engineering and computer science. If you like putting things together computer engineering seems more applicable. You can find out more about computer engineering by following the link in the video description.
What I learned after three years of electronic engineering: 1)Look up how to solve problems online 2) Stack overflow is your friend 3) almost everyone will fail calculus the first time around. 4) if you failed calculus, relearn everything through google and retake the exam
Algebra, trig, and calculus concepts are used in the field of engineering. If you can do the calculus, you can master the trig concepts you'll need. We mainly use sin, cos and occasionally look-up some trig identity to use. Hope you consider Penn College for this degree!
Hi im good at physics and mechanics but im bad at statistics and differential equation related maths Should i go for computer science or computer engineering? Could u please help me with a better advice. It would be a great help. :)
+Abdulrahman Hadidy Glad you feel that way. A career in electronics can be quite rewarding! When it comes to college, we certainly hope you consider Penn College! Think about coming to campus for a visit: www.pct.edu/visit/
add further more video regarding computer science about(chances of job) course about subject ....which include over all content regarding computer science
Thanks for that, i am a technician and i want to be an computer engineer, i was thinking if i could get an apprenticeship with a company, 3-4 days a week, with 1-2 days a week of college (probably taking computer engineer courses). Then after my apprenticeship,go to university to get a bachelors degree in computer engineer.
ok, but i have heard from former engineering students who are now working that you don't really use alot of math once you get into the field working as in engineer
hi everyone ,if anyone else wants to learn about understanding electronics for beginners try Letza Easy Electronics Lessons (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? Ive heard some super things about it and my brother in law got amazing success with it.
Yeah really. Where the hell do they bring these things i live in the middle east and there no stereotype like that plus many math teachers are women 😂😂 like the one that teaches me
I'm currently a Sophomore in College. I'm transferring to a University in about year after I finish up my general ED and some support courses. I know that I want to go into some kind of technical engineering career. I want to work with robotics or something similar, however my college doesn't have an actual "robotics" major. I'm left with Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Electronics and Computer Engineering Technology Majors. I'm not sure which of those will get me where I want to go.
+Seth F You should visit some schools and talk to a faculty member to see what they do, if anything, with robotics. An Electronics and Computer Engineering Technology major should do a lot more applications than a traditional engineering school. A traditional engineering school will probably be easier to transfer to since their engineering courses are mostly in the 3rd and 4th year of study whereas in a technology school the technical courses start in the 1st year You will also need to decide if you want to work with industrial robots, autonomous robots, do robot design, etc. Of course, if you are interested in Electronics and Computer Engineering Technology at Penn College, let us know how we can help!
+Seth F I've found that you really can't go wrong with electrical engineering since you learn everything you need to pretty fast and then, your pretty much good. You learn how to read their blueprints, how to use electronics, what they do, and how they do that.
Most students who start our program have no programming experience. Being good at math is an excellent indicator or future programming ability. Programming is a skill that is easily learned if you have a logical thought process and some math skill. Programming is simply telling a computer how to solve a problem you know how to solve!
Electronics and Computer Engineering technology jobs are based on engineering and application of technology. Engineering students need a good background in science and math to be able to do well in this field.
I am torn between whether I should major in Electrical or computer engineering. I love to create robots the most and experiment on plasma and lots of electronics but I also love computers and love to code and make animations, websites, software, and use my knowledge of hardware to be able to use computers to do whatever I want. It's confusing because I love technology period and computers and electronic machines like sensors and robots really give me a high. I also enjoy math, physics, and chemistry ALOT. so which one should I choose?
I feel like chips i s the brain of it all and I want to make things happen with it. But I don't know what to choose. I even like to create radios just so much technology I would love to create along with coding and software
+David Shepler You are correct that most engineering schools offer an Electrical or Computer Engineering degree. These schools are very traditional in their outlook. You might consider an Electronics and Computer Engineering Technology Degree. Engineering Technology is closely related to Engineering degrees but Engineering Technology programs have a lot of applications work instead of solving lots of book problems. The Electronics and Computer Engineering program at Penn College has high math requirements, calculus-based physics and it covers electronics, sensors, software and often students use robots as a platform to implement their work. Certainly hope this information helps! By the way, you can experience the Electronics & Computer Engineering Technology program at Penn College by visiting us Oct. 25 during our Open House. My goal was to get a Bachelor's in Computer Engineering, but my school only has that one called "Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology", is it the same thing? or a greater o lesser version? I need to now so I can decide when I get my associate's if I should take that program or go to another school.
What's the difference between computer science and computer engineering? I really good in math and I like putting things together and I was wondering whether I should Study computer science or computer engineering.
how much of math do you need to know for Computer Engineering Technology major in college because am a senior in high school and want to do that but am not really good at math.
I wonder that In electronics & computer engineering dont you learn electronics and software at same time like double major of software engineering and electrical electronics?
Do I have to posses a background of programming before I start a particular course? I'm kind of good at math, and I made a calculator using visual basic -that was my best as a high school student-, or do I have to be like 'Notch' -Minecraft creator; who was somehow able to make his first video game when he was a very little kid-. I know for certain that both electrical and mechanical engineering combined are nothing like computers', so do I have to have such qualifications -above- for it?
I'm currently majoring in engineering but I'm very interested in engineering technology because i want to be hands on. ...i worry that as an engineering technologist, my advancement chances are low. ..any advice?
You are correct that at some companies, engineering technologists are treated differently than engineers. At other companies, there is no difference. Another option is to attend engineering graduate school after completing your 4-year degree. If you want the hands-on experience, go for it and search out the companies that care about a candidate’s ability and accomplishments, not just what the degree's name is.
I am interested in this program but I live in Georgia. Is there a distance learning option? One in which I take the theory part of the program online/ via interactive video and come in once every summer for say 3 months each year to complete the laboratory component? Thanks for responding to my request.
Hi Feras: The answer depends on what type of career you want. The two programs can be very similar. If you wish to be in the electrical power generation industry then pick an electrical engineering program that has an option to specialize in electrical power generation. If you wish to work with electronics and computers then either program will be acceptable, as long as you look at the coursework of the major. Another point to consider is that an engineering program will be more theoretical. An engineering technology program will have a lot of theory but also many applications and you will have electronics for all four years. Hope this helps and that you consider Penn College!
What kind of sections of math 101 is the most required for this kind of specialization; I'm good at algebra and calculus, but when it comes to sin and cos (triangular functions), I start to lose it. Is that ok? Thanks for replying, by the way?
Computer Engineering is a bridge between Computer Science and electrical Engineering ... In Computer Science one would focus mainly on Software and could often have little knowledge on how computer hardware actually functions... A Computer Engineer learns both Software developement, but also learns the physics that dictates computer hardware.... Computer Engineering and Computer Science do overlap in that both deal with software, computers, mathematics. Computer Science focuses more on the design of operating systems, video games, and software products. This field is almost all programming. Computer Engineering focuses hardware design and software interfacing to this hardware. Programming is done that works with the design of computer hardware.
That's my dream to become a computer engineering but since im Disabled i see me as a failure :( but God is with us and we can accomplished anything having God with Amen
i need to meet to ppl in ingeniering tech xperience . thanks two ppl . . need to draw what i want . someone there with much ways to help . i don't draw but i need more experts
Thanks for your interest. Computer engineering involves the architecture, design, and operation of computers and embedded processors. Electronic engineering involves the design and operation of electronic circuits and devices, both analog and digital. Our program combines both because many jobs in industry require knowledge of both areas.
+Joshua Gomez Most engineering programs have a well-defined course of study. If you can decide on what colleges you might be interested in attending you should be able to see online which courses you will be taking each semester you are in college. For example, if you were interested in coming to Penn College for Electronics and Computer Engineering Technology, the link below shows which courses you will take each semester. Most schools should have something similar. www.pct.edu/catalog/majors/BEE.shtml#catalog_Curriculum If you're interested in Penn College, consider scheduling a campus visit! www.pct.edu/visit/
Which should i go architect or computers and technology I like architect beacause i like drawing and i like technology beacause i born whith that when im 8 year old i have a gadgets and grow up i fell like when touch a gadgets i like to do things that dind do to onther gadgets
The best way to make your decision is to discover as much information about the career fields as possible. Penn College is hosting an Open House on March 24, offering the opportunity to explore architecture, electronics and computer engineering, and 100 other distinctive majors. Consider attending the event: www.pct.edu/visit/openhouse
you know it infuriates me when im trying to nit-pick the areas of computers careers to figure out just what i want to do with computers so i can establish a clear path down to a specific degree, but... it all runs together! which make it extremely difficult to have pride in what you do. what i mean by that is i feel like the difference between an electrical, computer and electronic engineer is who show up to work that day. you can have the 3 different engineers there doing their job OR you can have only one of them show up and this person could do all 3 jobs regardless. i know now after much researching and comparing that i want to be a computer engineer because i like the idea to tinker with things and build things more focused on hardware. but again i feel like at the end of the day its all the same. please leave me your thoughts :)
Engineering is a field that generally allows students to focus their efforts in a specific area while receiving a broad background of technical courses. Henry Ford made the comment that you can train an engineer to be an accountant but you cannot train an accountant to be an engineer. If you want to work with software, embedded controllers and hardware, you need to pick a school where that is done. Different schools focus on different areas of engineering. Penn College focuses on two areas: automation and embedded controllers. Please let us know if you're interested and good luck!
hi I will be finishing my bachelor of engineering in electronics and communication next year from India I would like to do my Masters can help me with the application procedure
Congratulations on nearing the end of your bachelor's degree! Penn College does not offer a master's program in electronics, but we wish you all the best as you advance your education...
@@marcopolo2605 Maybe you could look into programming. There's a lot of resources on youtube for learning programming. Either way, hope you find something that interests you.
Thanks for the question! If a project is interesting enough for the department to want to display or use in the future, the department can provide funds. If a student desires to keep their project after its completion then they pay for it.
Hi, i want to major in computer engineering in a couple of years and I heard somewhere that chemistry is needed for computer engineering is that true? Also how much and what type of math do I need? Great video! Really inspiring!
+Bf3RapesAll Math can be a problem for many students. There is also quite a bit a difference in the math requirements for our 2-year and 4-year degrees. You can decide which degree works best for you. A student who works hard, spends lots of time studying math outside of class, and visits the tutoring center, can often get though the math so they can work with the robots and other computer engineering stuff which is neat! Consider scheduling a campus visit to learn more! www.pct.edu/visit/
is there any way i can contact her? im in the begging of my engineering courses and would love to hear from someone as motivated as her. thanks! great video!
Great question. Math wizards become math majors. Sure engineering requires a lot of math, but study and time spent working on math problems get the typical engineering student through the math.
Im only 11 but im already to do that job when im an adult imma need need help on how people do it and they also show it how if you please can tell me a website or something that can help me with this job please tell me you'll help me complete my fiture:)
Hi Max: It's great that you are interested in this field. Here is a fun website that has tutorials, projects and terrific resources: learn.sparkfun.com/?_ga=1.128024335.2079481083.1421072397 Hope you enjoy it. The best way to discover electronics and computer engineering technology is to work with "stuff." Seems like you are well on your way!
how can i get her through email or any social network, i am student ( IN ELECCTRICAL AND COMPUTER ENGINNEERING ) i want advice from here. IF POSSIBLE PLEASE HELP ME !!!
There are several factors in learning circuits. One plan I found that successfully combines these is the Gregs Electro Blog (google it if you're interested) without a doubt the most incredible info that I've heard of. Check out this super resource.
+Mitsubishi Lancer You can always improve your math skills to reach that goal. The computer engineering field will require calculus. There are very good websites, like www.khanacademy.org that you can use to improve your math starting at any level. Practice every day and you can do better! Someday, we may see you here at Penn College!
You're not alone. Math is hard for many students. Our two-year Robotics & Automation major only requires college Algebra and Trigonometry. You can be successful in those courses if you work hard.
Pennsylvania College of Technology yea I keep telling myself my degree going be worth it in the end and yea I know I not alone but I would have to put more study into math it alaways help lf I need it thanks for replay :)
I had metallurgy class with her. She’s smart as a whip!!

For example, if you were interested in coming to Penn College for Electronics and Computer Engineering Technology, the link below shows which courses you will take each semester. Most schools should have something similar.

If you're interested in Penn College, consider scheduling a campus visit! www.pct.edu/visit/
Thank you for giving me this information,it would be very useful,I appreciate it👍👍👍
do you need to know a lot of math for that major because am a senior in high school.
Dat Boi I'm in college now and yes a lot of math for this major
what kind of math is involved if i may ask. And if you don't know how to do that kind of math do they teach you. Thanks for the quick response bro
Does this university give scholarship?

Please let us know if you're interested and good luck!
thanks.
hi I will be finishing my bachelor of engineering in electronics and communication next year from India I would like to do my Masters
can help me with the application procedure
Congratulations on nearing the end of your bachelor's degree! Penn College does not offer a master's program in electronics, but we wish you all the best as you advance your education...
+Pennsylvania College of Technology thanks for replying back
Im 16 years old and i like math, physics, computers and problem solving. Is this a good job for me in the future?
hello now u are 22 . what did u do . what do u study
@@marcopolo2605 Hello, I just finished my bachelor in (IT and Information system), and are currently looking for a job as a programmer :)
@@Makmarian oh interesting . good lock my friend . I m happy to hear that. I hope u find an excellent one
@@Makmarian I m sorry for myself I m 27 years old and now I m searching for my interests.
@@marcopolo2605 Maybe you could look into programming. There's a lot of resources on youtube for learning programming. Either way, hope you find something that interests you.
Who gave the money for her project college or she spent herself?
Thanks for the question! If a project is interesting enough for the department to want to display or use in the future, the department can provide funds.
If a student desires to keep their project after its completion then they pay for it.
Hi, i want to major in computer engineering in a couple of years and I heard somewhere that chemistry is needed for computer engineering is that true? Also how much and what type of math do I need? Great video! Really inspiring!
Haha no way
I like this video keep going 🤠 greeting from Morocco*°^
if i got a c in maths, i probably shouldnt be looking at this right?
+Bf3RapesAll Math can be a problem for many students. There is also quite a bit a difference in the math requirements for our 2-year and 4-year degrees. You can decide which degree works best for you. A student who works hard, spends lots of time studying math outside of class, and visits the tutoring center, can often get though the math so they can work with the robots and other computer engineering stuff which is neat! Consider scheduling a campus visit to learn more! www.pct.edu/visit/
and she had to throw in the woman card
she isn't wrong
is there any way i can contact her? im in the begging of my engineering courses and would love to hear from someone as motivated as her. thanks! great video!
wow i know she will be great!
Am going back To college to get Degree for electronic snd computer engineering
Im gonna be a computer engineer
Great question. Math wizards become math majors. Sure engineering requires a lot of math, but study and time spent working on math problems get the typical engineering student through the math.
Crazy project
I want to become a computer engineer
Im only 11 but im already to do that job when im an adult imma need need help on how people do it and they also show it how if you please can tell me a website or something that can help me with this job please tell me you'll help me complete my fiture:)
Hi Max: It's great that you are interested in this field. Here is a fun website that has tutorials, projects and terrific resources: learn.sparkfun.com/?_ga=1.128024335.2079481083.1421072397 Hope you enjoy it. The best way to discover electronics and computer engineering technology is to work with "stuff." Seems like you are well on your way!
Yay thanks ma,am/sir thanks for the website
Thanks for the heads up :D
Ilove electronic ..likely logic creating test prove
She's an impressive young lady!
Loved it mam thank you

There are several factors in learning circuits. One plan I found that successfully combines these is the Gregs Electro Blog (google it if you're interested) without a doubt the most incredible info that I've heard of. Check out this super resource.
Wow nice electric 😍
I want to be a computer engineering but I'm bad at math :(
+Mitsubishi Lancer You can always improve your math skills to reach that goal. The computer engineering field will require calculus.
There are very good websites, like www.khanacademy.org that you can use to improve your math starting at any level. Practice every day and you can do better! Someday, we may see you here at Penn College!
+Mitsubishi Lancer Programming is not Maths, not all but in many cases and when you will start doing it your brain will develop neurons side by side.
Study
Fantastic...
your job is interesting...♫..♥
Wow great college is the math hard at engeering beacouse I suck at math bad and this is the career I want to have for a long time
You're not alone.
Thanks Darling
