  • Discover how we did Santa Maria in this timelapse video of the building process of this Artesania Latina's scale model. The Santa Maria was the largest of the three boats that Christopher Columbus used on his first trip to the New World in 1492. It was made with wood from Cantabria and was owned by Juan de la Cosa.
    In the original documents it is mentioned that there were three caravels, the Santa Maria, where the admiral was going, was the largest of the three ships. Some scholars have subsequently interpreted that she was a nao. The other two ships of the expedition were the caravels Niña and Pinta. Unlike them, the Santa María did not return to Spain when it was stranded on the Spanish island in December 1492 since the remains of it were used to build Fort Navidad, the first Spanish settlement in the New World.

    Could you tell me where you bought the sailors' figures?

    Muy bonita. Yo estoy empezando a hacerla, llevo ya varios pasos hechos y espero que haya recubrimiento suficiente (WV2) porque empiezo a tener mis dudas.

      Si, sobra madera. De hecho he construido otro barco con lo que sobro de este y el HMS Terror.

    Is there a reason you opted for superglue instead of wood glue? Just curious.

    • @ModelismoNavalparaTodos
      @ModelismoNavalparaTodos  3 года назад +2

      It is faster. If I use wood glue I would have to wait for it to dry before moving to the next step, using superglue it is practically instantaneous but you pay a nice price with mistakes.

    What did you paint the sails with to make them yellow?

    • @ModelismoNavalparaTodos
      @ModelismoNavalparaTodos  3 года назад +1

      It is all in the video about sails, I used a mix of white glue, yellow occre paint and water. Using a hair drier then you give shape to the sails

    The black part that run to the hull, did you paint it black or its original black from the kit?

    ¡Excelente trabajo! Una consulta, al adquirir este kit de artesanía latina, ¿Viene con pinturas y/o pegamentos incluidos? Y en caso de no traerlo, ¿Cómo se puede saber que color y tipo de pintura necesita cada parte del barco?

    • @ModelismoNavalparaTodos
      @ModelismoNavalparaTodos  Год назад +1

      No las trae. Ni los pegamentos. En las instrucciones te dicen los codigos de las pinturas de ellos pero tomatelo como una recomendacion puedes usar cualquier pintura para hacerlo

    Sirve para hacerme los barcos desde plano una caladora? Es porque es más barata q una sierra de cinta o una seguta eléctrica. Y como lo ves para 16 años?

    • @ModelismoNavalparaTodos
      @ModelismoNavalparaTodos  2 года назад

      Ufff... Por servir puede quizas servir pero no es tan precisa y es mucho mas peligrosa. Yo para cortar con la caladora casi que te diria de cortar con una segueta a mano y la caladora para quitar lo mas gordo solo
