I LOVE these pattern hack videos! Personally, I think when a pattern brand clearly demonstrates how some of their pattern parts are interchangeable with one another, it just makes for GREAT proof that purchasing patterns is an investment that keeps on giving long after the original garment was sewn as intended. 😁
@Lisa Capri I've been hacking commercial patterns for years! Didn't call it hacking, I called it making it mine! Neckline from one pattern, sleeves another, skirt from a third. OR with a blouse/top I pre-tucked the fabric before cutting it out, nice top. Altered shirt tails too, made high-low hems before I ever saw a ready to wear or commercial pattern! It's fun to sew & make your own "designer" outfit! Works best if you stay with same brand of commercial pattern.
I love the first sweater you had on! I love all of them TBH. I love the lacy one! It’s such a fun way to use those sheerer fabrics! The first three were my favorites! I have the first 3 patterns you talked about! For some reason I didn’t know the raglan had a cowl option! I love that so much especially with winter right around the corner! So I can’t wait to play around with those! I’m excited to mix and match for winter! I really want to add a bishop sleeve to the puff sleeve peplum top. I’m not a dress or romper wearer, but if a pattern has sleeves I love or a bodice and it’s on sale I usually buy it. I love peplum tops and fun sleeves so I know I can swap pieces of the pattern out with another so I love that you kind of went over that as well! I saw a skirt recently that matches the skirt on a peplum top I saw and absolutely loved at Torrid. I saw the pattern first and then came across the top and was pleasantly surprised that you could do that type of skirt as a peplum. I can’t remember the exact sewing pattern I saw, but it’s very similar to the E&M Wrap Skirt. I’d love to see a hack where you add it to a bodice as a peplum! This was so helpful! I like how you added a cowl to your tops and it looked chunky and warm. What about a dressier hoodie style with side pockets? Loose fit. Thanks so much!!
I don't know if I posted on this video, but would you be able to do a tutorial of the exact top you're using in the beginning of the video? I love love LOVE that top and the color of the material you used!!! Please and thank you!!!
Thank you so much for these! I can’t wait to start applying some of the hacks. Happy new year to you and your family, Diana. Love and hugs from Kitchener, Ontario, Canada 🤗💕🥰🇨🇦
Great question! Here is a video we have that shows how. Raising or Lowering Your KNIT Neckband Is So EASY!! Let's Do It Together! ruclips.net/video/IznY8LJuMnU/видео.html
Are you saying that i could combine the Curved Hem Pocket Tank Pattern with the Cuddle up tunic bishop sleeve if I want? (of course, we are using same size pattern)
I have not tried that pattern yet. Since it has bands (because it is sleeveless) the armcye might be a little small but honestly, I would try it. you may have to use the armcye of another pattern to carve out a little bit of it but then it would definitely work! I may have to try this now!!
Can u make a tutorial showing how to make a skirt longer or point me in the direction in where I can find It thanks 😊 and by the way I love love ur tutorials
Really like watching your tutorials & have learned a few tricks from you. BUT, who are Ellie & Mac? Do they ever appear in any videos? Are you, by any chance, Ellie or Mac?

You are so welcome! and Happy New Years to you and yours!!
I love your videos and instruction. What would need to be done for lowering the neck front neckline on the Discover Tee or making it a V-Neck?

The name Ellie and Mac was inspired by the owner's daughters, Eliana and Makayah.
