I REALLY appreciate the genuine positivity presented here and the inclusivity. There is so much negativity in the media because it sells. Thanks for being you and not going negative. We love our premium. It’s just right for us. And I’m sure others feel the same…what they chose is just right for them. Nothing better or worse, just equitable options. Any EV is a win for the driver and really everyone. So encouraging adoption with videos like this this is important. ❤️

I started my EV life with a Bolt EV and it was great except for road trips. I then replaced it with a Taycan 4S and it’s in a totally different price category but after a 5200 mile road trip I can’t imagine much of a better place to be. It’s Volcano Grey and named Stealth.

I tried to get my wife to upgrade our First Edition to a GT Performance Edition, but she loves her car so much and wants nothing to do with it. She said that she can't ever get a First Edition again, so she isn't giving it up.
Ah man I totally get that too. The First Edition does feel very special. I miss the badging on the door trim! - Liv
Im buying a slightly used Mach E GTPE...i was originally going to get a white one with some really original striping on it but yesterday the dealer i was working with git the same exact model with no striping but in that stunning Grabber Blue. It even hs 5k less miles on it. Im seriously thinking of going for the grabber blue color because it just looks absolutely stunning. I fell in love with this color from seeing your EV!
A surprisingly frank and open assessment of your new investment. Good job (always). I don't know if I have ever given you those stats you asked for so mine is a 2021 Red Premium, Std. Range, 2wd (which I ordered during the LA Auto show in 2019 where it was introduced...thus had to wait 17 months for it). I think the amazing thing, to me, about my car is that a lot of other EVs have come into the market since November, 2019 (when I ordered mine), but none of them has a feature or features (in anything close to this price range) that tempts me, in the least, to make a change. Sure, if I won the lottery I might dive into a Mercedes EQS...but that ain't gonna happen (since I don't buy lottery tickets...and there isn't one in Utah, anyhow). But for technology that is moving this fast to still be more than adequate after 3 years is quite remarkable, I think. Your description of Magnaride (sp?) makes me want to vote with Patrick to make it available as an option for other models (particularly the Premium), but mine has enough acceleration and enough speed and after 20,000 miles I still look forward to driving it every time I get into it...with the ponies shining on the garage floor :) Oh, and mine is simply named Bob as in "Pony Bob" who is a real historical figure, Robert Haslam, who rode for the Pony Express before the transcontinental railroad (1869) and he rode through Colorado and Utah. Interesting. Glad I got my RT1 when I did in 2021. A GTPE would be cool but all of them have gone up so much would be out of budget. Nice to see you guys enjoying it.

Agree that the power limitation isn't really a practical issue. In 12k miles of driving over 6 months I've never had it impact my driving or prevent me putting the car somewhere I wanted to.
With where prices have landed for 2023 models. Glad you got yours when you did.

Honestly if the used car market wasn't so hot right now, we probably couldn't/wouldn't have made it happen. And we definitely took our time percolating over the 7 month wait! But I'm with your better half....massaging seats are like an automatic +1 haha - Liv
2021 GT PE - Man o' War, but limped it to Autonation Ford last week with failed HVBJB. Now waiting and waiting. Wishing you luck with the Cali trip.

That sucks. Was that after the recall software update was applied? Did Ford get you a loaner/rental?
@@anthonyc8499 yes, after the recall software. Personally, I think each and every GT will experience this and the recall is just to give ford data and time to respond. No rental yet also no timeline either. Not happy at all.
@@EELinneman Long line of Mach-e at local Ford awaiting service; a few with thick coatings of dust. Our AWD Select built months ago; Ford tells us every few weeks it has been delivered to dealer but not there. Ford needs to get you in a loaner soon!

As for me, I didn't want to pay for the extra-bolstered seats or summer tires, but REALLY wanted to add Magneride onto my non-PE GT order and couldn't. I'm still really happy with my car, but notice the ride on the rougher roads on Long Island and New York City.

I have the select version and wish I could get magna ride for those LI roads as well! Sunrise Hwy is rough 😂 but when traveling upstate on the highways so smooth!
I would have loved to be able to option magneride. Sadly it isn't possible yet. I was surprised at the comfort of the standard suspension. It's a bit bouncy but not near as bad as I had expected.
The 2023 Order banks opened today and we ordered a Red GT (standard, mot performance). I was sold on the Premium, but the wife wanted a GT. We once bought a red V6 Mustang but couldn't afford a GT at the time so she has always wanted a GT ever since. The Magneride is still only available on the GT performance, but the glass roof is now standard on both GT models. I agree with Liv, I really like the copper accents and the front of the GT definitely looks better than the performance (especially the light-up pony). In the end, we just decided the extra $6k for the performance was just too much to pay, especially after the price increases this year. Besides, I've been driving around a 2010 Toyota Matrix with worn-out shocks for a long time so I'm sure the standard suspension of the GT will be a huge improvement! 🙂
I have a 2022 Premium eAWD ER in Grabber Blue. I love it for driving around town. The GTPE was so much more than what I wanted to spend. I have a GT convertible that I would use as a grand tourer.
I got my GT Performance on August 10th, 2022 and have been loving it ever since. I got this version because of the acceleration, braking distance (106 feet from 60) and the Magnaride and I need all of them for my daily commute on the local Sprain Brook Parkway Westchester county, NY: more like Autobahn: saw a 4X racing an Audi Crossover and winning before I go my car). I have had no hiccups with EA chargers and one EVGo on my first 735 round trip and the overall efficiency has been 3 mi/kw. I will cross 2K miles on 9/17/22. I can note that using Engage mode with the shifter set to L regenerates the most power in non highway driving; you can actually gain back power while driving slowly at 15-20 MPH or less on a flat to downhill road.

I enjoy driving my base GT considerably more than my wife's Premium, though I'd have to admit the Premium's power is more than adequate. So I get it 🙂.
Thanks for another great video! I love my Job 1 2021 Performance AWD Mach E. It's Star White and is named "White Chocolate." I've been on at least 12 road trips and already have driven over 33,000 miles. I plan on keeping it, but may consider the GT Performance Edition when I decide to trade White Chocolate.

Over a year ago I purchased our Premium AWD with the Extended battery. My plan was to trade it in 2023 for a Porsche Macan EV, but Porsche moved their dates and I am thinking thru some new plans. I love my MME and haven't driven a GT Performance yet. Love your videos, thank you!

I have a similar background - I had a Premium 4X, got a great deal on an upgrade, and switched to a GTPE.
I really agree with what you've said. I was very, very happy with my Premium, and I still feel like it was probably the best overall value (assuming you don't get a good deal on a GTPE). You'll still impress your friends and family with how fast it is, regardless, and the rest of the most important features are still there.
As far as track use goes, yeah, the 1/4-mile is bad... but 0-40, the thing RIPS. That, to me, is the speed range where you'll really make a strong impression in real-life driving, and besides, if I wanted a track vehicle, I wouldn't go for an SUV. So, I'm very, very happy, even with the 5-second limiter.
I have had the chance to take it (and the Premium) on a few 1,500-mile-ish road trips, and I haven't noticed the difference in range between the two.

I wish I had money for a GTPE! I need to learn more about this “magnaride” because this was the first time I have heard about it.
I ordered one 2 weeks ago - hoping it will be as nice as this one. I hate that Ford removed the customizable seats. Smh. This car is ALMOST perfect!

Glad you guys are enjoying your GT and yes I am sure the ride is so much better than the premium or standard select that I have. We bought it just to replace my wife's minivan as our kids are older now and drive themselves. We only use it for city driving mostly. Road trips are reserved for our Tesla Model 3 and the ID4 which has a fantastic suspension and ride for road trips in my opinion. We go to Anaheim a lot to Disney world but live in Las Vegas so if you are ever in town let's go get a cocktail. My treat and drive safely.

have a 2021 premium that I am trading in for a 2023 GT PE. Build date is 1st week of Nov so hopefully before the end of the year *fingers crossed*

Mine is a '22 GT custom spec with no blue cruise and no glass roof (I hate the glass roof) in Dark Matter Gray with limo tint. It is named Illapa (the Inca god of thunder). I am also in Denver. Unlike you, I love the additional power and I drive it more aggressively. Speed limits are more of a suggestion...

Great video as always, gang. You actually made an interesting point about the well known 5 sec. power restriction. Can you guys work with someone who has a MME Premium and do a 1/4 mile race? I think you might be right about the GT and Premium having the same time in a drag race do to the power restriction.
One thing not mentioned is that the GT and GT Performance have a totally different front fascia than the lower trim MMEs. I really love the more aggressive front end and lower stance of the GTs. My GT has a decent ride quality and I absolutely love the acceleration. The 5 second thing isn’t a big deal in daily driving because 80+mph in 5s is plenty quick already.

@@MachE_VLOG do you find that Blucifer had better than advertised range and Twocifer has worse than advertised? I feel like there’s no way my GT can match the 4X range at 70mph even tho they have the same EPA range.
I think everyone should buy mustang Mach E GT performance package unless you can’t afford it money wise because GT performance package cost over 70,000$ which means monthly payments are really high. Not everyone can afford high monthly payments.

I know this is not exactly related but I frequently attach my IPhone when I enter and sometimes CarPlay starts and sometimes not .. and I don’t think there is any difference in my process… do you have any ideas?.. apologies if this is the the place I have a 22 AWD extended .. I live on West coast of Ireland .. and yes it does rain here
For normal driving this Mach e GT is great even for a quick 0 to 60 launch then ur at speed limit anyway an if ur overtaking a truck that's going 40 or 50 mph u cud just fly past it with a second or two of hard acceleration so this car be great for normal people that want something with plenty power when u need it so that 5 second only max power wud really only affect drivers who took it on a race track lol, Mach e are beautiful looking cars, I be happy to have the standard range rwd one that does 0 to 60 in about 6.5 seconds in the infinite blue colour with white seats, that's my dream car an maybe in a few years get one but looking forward to my puma st in mean green colour first , lovely views an roads in video, was great hearing your thoughts on the Mach e an mach e GT performance, cheers from Scotland 🏴👍👍

@@MachE_VLOG the puma st I'm getting has a 1.5 litre turbo 3 cylinder engine with 200hp and 320 nm torque an 0 to 62 mph in 6.7 seconds, but ford are on about a puma ev coming out in 2024 so can't wait see what specs, colours and trim levels and range will be an price also, exciting stuff , then it be hard to choose between Mach e an puma ev lol 👍👌🏴
I rent a select model this week end because it's the one i ordered and it's really nice to drive. Don't know for the premium and GT but i'm sure a select will make you happy as well. Waiting my select cyber oramge next month after 7 months wait it will be awesome. Look like you guys missed Blucifer a lot lol.
I've got a Rapid Red Premium 4X with the light space gray interior. Seeing the interior of your prior FE made me wonder if you're going to add some of the same accessories to the new GTPE? Screen protector's or PPF, etc.?
Oh most definitely! At the very least we need that matte screen protector back on! And we actually just had PPF put on! We may have a video out about that in a bit! How about you? - Liv
@@MachE_VLOG Yes, the matte screen protector is a must have. To reduce glare I have one on the drivers display also. I also have the ASOK red pony mats for the console and door handle pockets. I also have the matte carbon fiber covers added to the door panels (around the window and lock buttons on each door) and also added the cover over the piano black on the console.
I’m thinking Premium should have the GTPE Seats but in my White and Gray Interior. If you had the comfort of the Premium Seats and GT seat styling I think it would be better and more suitable. I can’t see trading in a perfectly great car for less mileage. 😂 I love both though. ❤️❤️❤️

Our new Premium ER AWD is giving me almost a seasick feeling on drives even after 250 miles of driving...curious if you feel the Magna-Ride would help with the pitchiness of the standard ride quality (or if it's just me not knowing how to drive!)
Hi together, have you noticed a considerable drop in range in comparison to the "normal mach-E" ? According to the specs, the RWD ER does 610 kms, and the GT about 100 kms less. But, do you notice it in the daily use or road trips ? I've gotten about 450 kms at best from my RWD, and i'd rather not lose another 100kms.
Thanks for the video. I'm in the same boat, debating about the Extended batter AWD Premium or the GT ( non performance) Wife wants the power lift gate and heated seats, while I want the GT's faster acceleration. Still not sure which to get. :(
I have a 22 Mach-E premium grabber blue. I’ve been thinking of getting the performance wheels or the GT wheels on my premium, what are your thoughts?
We test drove a Mach-E GT today and almost immediately the engine coolant system displayed an overheating message on the screen. Is this common? We are considering trading in our Model Y LR to buy one.

That sounds really unusual to me. Getting gray bars is pretty common, but an overheating warning sounds like there's an issue with the vehicle.
The gray bar issue is common (if you're repeatedly flooring it or fresh out of a fast-charging session) and will temporarily reduce your acceleration, but you should never see an overheating warning unless something is wrong with the vehicle.

You shouldn’t by a GT because you will have to much fun.
Notice any difference between the rear engine power bias in the first edition vs the balanced front and rear power in the GT?
The front motor is a lot more powerful so it is easy to get front wheel spin in the GT.
I'm quite happy not having a GT and if I was to buy into it I think I'd go Tesla Model 3 Performance long before I did a GTPE. Better handling and far far superior performance at the cost of looking like a shoe. Honestly if those are the important aspects why stay Mach-E?

I like Mach E started from the Video Racing with all EV from OOS Review, altogether Mach E was last, I like the Mach E design and the way you two treat it like a baby. I made a call to ford to order, then price getting higher for 2023 editions....oops. price even higher than Cadillac Lyriq.
