Lol you’ll need to move fast on this prodigy. Republic Records signed her when she was 14 on the family’s condition that they not promote her until she finished high school. She’s 17 now, completed high school early, and her first single will drop this month with a full album-originals with a 60s vibe - to follow this fall. She’s poised to become an international star soon.

Our tiny little girl with the grownup voice was 17 on Jan. 10, 23 and is now 6'1" tall and could be a super model, but I hope the major portion of her career will be dedicated to her music and taking the world to a better place. I don't think she even realizes this power she holds over us and the need to hear that signature voice to fill that empty void within all of us. Angelina Jordan is in fact the "Benchmark" for all other vocalist to try as they might to achieve. I have a number of pictures of celebrities whose height is known, for example, Austin Butler, who played Elvis, is 6ft tall, and AJ published a picture of her standing next to him, she was at least 1 inch taller than him, and she had to look down at him.

First recorded singing at eighteen months of age.
Angelina was listening to Jazz and Blues while still in the womb.
At two going on three she is seen scrolling through RUclips looking for Jazz artists to listen to for hours.
At three she tells her Mother she wants to sing on that Simon show.
At four she enters school and in after school program she is taking music,piano, violin and flute lessons.
At five she is studying music theory, learning to deconstruct and rearranging songs to her liking.
At five she is speaking three languages. Norwegian, Persian and English.
At five she tells he Mother she wants to sing at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert.
At five she try’s to audition for Norway’s Got Talent but is told she is too young and must be seven.
At five she is practicing four to six hours per day.
At six she enters sound booth for the first time, recording four songs, Rolling In The Deep, Hurt, Sky Fall and most notably I Who Have Nothing.
At six travels to the Middle East where the legend of Angelina begins.
Compulsive, obsessed, mother try’s to slow her down, but she is driven and does not stop. Prodigy does not come close to describing her. Genius, maybe. You will find there are no words to describe what she is. If you truly want to know. Buy her book, “Between Two Harts “ based on her diary entries at age six, published when she was nine. She became the youngest published author in Norwegian history. All proceeds are donated to children charities. Angelina does not sing for money, she sings to bring peace and happiness to the world.

Angelina is a Norwegian born child prodigy in music. She's a singer/ songwriter who's arranged over 180 covers and 5 originals, all since the age of 7. Angelina began singing at 18 months old. At 2, she began teaching herself how to sing, focusing primarily on the jazz masters of decades gone by. These are artists such as Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, and Etta James. She's also influenced by Amy Winehouse, Frank Sinatra, Whitney Houston, and Adele, to name a few. She's also been said to be the girl of 1,000 voices. Yet even though we can hear the phrasing and style she puts in the songs, it's always Angelina that we hear.
At 7 years old, she auditioned for Norway's Got Talent. She was the last to audition. The judges had no idea who she was or what she could do. They saw a diminutive mussy haired, barefooted girl with her teeth still growing in. For her audition, she performed "Gloomy Sunday" from Billie Holiday. On TV-2, they've reported over 14 million views of this performance. This does not take into account the many hundreds of reactors showing this audition to millions more.
Needless to say, Angelina went on to win the 2014 season of NGT shortly after her 8th birthday. The family was bombarded with requests for performances, interviews, and record label offers. They turned down 90% of the requests, as they insisted that Angelina should enjoy a normal childhood.
That didn't stop Angelina from performing at select engagements around the world, singing for Heads of State, and even Barack Obama. She's spent time and worked with musicians such as Quincy Jones and Alan Walker. She first appeared on American television, The View, at 8 years old.
Angelina auditioned for America's Got Talent The Champions at 13 years old. She made it just up to the final selection of the final 5 when she dropped from the competition. It wasn't that she wasn't good enough to be in the final 5, but it was because she refused to sign with an AGT affiliated label, should she win. She knew very well what production hungry labels could do to her music. She even turned down Disney.
At 14, Angelina signed with Republic Records. Republic gave her complete artistic control as well as control over the performances she would make. She turned 17 on January 10, 2023, and will graduate from high school after the spring semester. From then on, she will embark on her full-time professional career. She's been working closely with Republic on her first album under their label. It's likely that it will drop shortly after her graduation.
Norwegian born Angelina Jordan began singing at the age of one and a half, and by age three was listening to jazz and classics legends on repeat. Her grandmother was her greatest influence, but Angelina chose her own path. Her first studio performance was at age 7, singing I Who Have Nothing. She won Norway's Got Talent at the age of only 8, singing old time classics from Billie Holliday and George Gershwin, and became the youngest ever vocalist to win an international Got Talent Show! Angelina sings in English which unbelievably is her third language! She is a true prodigy.
She is now 17, and has recorded a huge library of songs, including covers and several originals. A major attraction to Angelina's music is the emotion and attitude she conveys, although she has not experienced the life events! She is known as the barefoot princess of 1,000 voices as she can adjust her tone, style, and register for any song or genre. She was signed by Republic Records almost two years ago. She has not been widely promoted yet, as her family wanted to allow her a normal childhood. However, she graduates school this year, and her new album of originals should be released within the next few months, followed by a world tour, possibly this summer.

Why does Angelina sing barefoot? The answer may bring a tear to your eye. It is related to a promise she made to herself and to the world when she was only 6 years old. She was traveling in the Middle East with her mom and grandmother and they came across a young orphan girl with no shoes and scarred feet. Angelina gave the girl her own favorite shoes. Angelina ask the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and she said a doctor, but she could not because she had to take care of her siblings. She asked Angelina the same question and Angelina said I want to sing for the world. The young girl said she would pray for Angelina. Since then, Angelia has forever performed barefoot as a reminder of all those less fortunate. At age 9 she wrote a book about this experience, Between two Hearts, becoming the youngest ever published author in Norway. She also has helped raise millions for children's charities. She even donated her winnings from Norway's Got Talent to charities. She is a special individual, and one you cannot follow without developing an emotional bond.
Angelina captures hearts because she is humble and has compassion for humanity. Her stated goal from childhood was to sing for the world and spread love and peace. I mean this in the nicest way possible-you have absolutely no idea yet of what Angelina can do. I’ve been listening to music since the 50’s, and Angelina is the best singer (and arranger) I’ve ever heard. And second place is very, very far behind. Bohemian Rhapsody is absolutely amazing, but I could give you dozens more, in four or five different genres, that will knock you back on your heels. She chooses all her own songs & does all her own arrangements ever since she was very young, even when she did Screaming Jay Hawkins “I put a spell on you” at barely 9, even at 7 & 8 on NGT (Norway’s Got Talent). On AGT-C Angie made her outfit from silkscreen patterns of her grandma's art work when she was 13 back in Norway. She makes several of her other outfits for shows & concerts too. She also paints great, plays 5 instruments & speaks & sings 4+ languages, English being her 3rd. Angie turned 17 on 1-10-23. Angie is a very kind, giving, loving, respectful, humble & a big hearted Christian girl. She always sings barefoot when performing & she wrote a book about it at 9 called “Between Two Hearts” & she was/is the youngest to be published in Norway. I see the "Angels" have landed, so I will make it short. Angelina has total control over every aspect of her vocals (tone, pitch, rasp, vocal fry, vibrato, intentional cracks, belts, etc.). A vocal coach once said it's as if she has a fine dial for each of those vocal tools, because she can increase or decrease them at will. It's so true & that's why one of her many nicknames among her fans is the "Angel With 1000 Voices. She often uses 3-4 different voices in a single song. She's the best I've seen in a lifetime. Congratulations! You just discovered the best Vocal Artist on the Planet! IMO This opinion is quickly being reinforced as her career is finally starting to I believe explode. I'm surprised there are still many who know nothing about her but again I think that is going to change.If you want to hear music listen to anyone. If you want to feel it listen to Angelina. When you react to Bohemian Rhapsody take notice during her performance they highlight audience members in the front row. That is Angelina's Family. From left to right Her uncle and manager Michael Astar, her little sister Juliette, her mother Sarah Astar and her grandmother Mery Zamani. Notice her little sister crossing her fingers as the performance starts and later her mother wipe tears from her eyes. Also remember she said she had waited 10 years to sing for Simon. She has arranged her own songs since almost the beginning. Her conversations with her accompanists on her winning Norways Got Talent run, persuaded the judges she is not too young for the show. She auditioned at age 7 with Billy Holidays GLOOMY SUNDAY. She captured Billy's tone and gave an authentic sounding performance. She later did BANG BANG, and SUMMERTIME on the show. She was 8 by the final so both ages are quoted for her win.
A nice first reaction! Oh boy, you are going to be bombarded by her fans called Angels that will fill you in on this music prodigy with an old soul from Norway. She's basically been a star since she was 7 years old. First and foremost, she is a jazz singer but has the ability to sing any genre. She also does all of her own musical arrangements. Her early influences are Billie Holiday, Dinah Washington, and Etta James to name a few. Her love of jazz came from her grandmother playing jazz music around her when she was young. In 2014, she entered and won Norway's Got Talent at the age of 8. With her new found fame, she used it to appear on many shows from abroad and help raise millions for the less fortunate children around the world. At age 13, she was invited to participate on America's Got Talent: The Champions in 2020. She shocked the audience and the judges with her rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. She received a standing ovation from all and got the Golden Buzzer from judge Heidi Klum to go straight to the Finals. Her performance went viral and even the group Queen responded on Twitter by saying, " Wow, what a rendition!" Not only that, but she received the copyrights for her version of this song from Queen, which makes it hers now. She did not win, but her fan base grew and expanded her popularity.
Now 17 years old, living in Los Angeles, and is signed with Republic Records, whose clients include Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, and Drake to name a few. Her family and Republic Records have agreed not to heavily promote her just yet so she can live as normal of a life as possible and finish her schooling. She has a new album of original music which will be coming out this year. She recently returned back to Norway and performed at a number of sold out concerts in which fans from around the world came to see her. Many of the fans there said she sounded better live in person and was a once in a lifetime experience.
Her fans call her The Barefoot Princess. She always performs with no shoes when she sings. Why? The reason is very special. When she was 6 years old, she was traveling with her family in Iran where she met a shoeless homeless girl in the streets that was about her age. She made money by weighing people. After speaking with her for a few minutes, Angelina noticed the scars on the girl's feet and asked the girl what her dream is. The girl said she wanted to be a doctor but she couldn't because she had to make money for her family. Angelina did what came natural to her, she gave the little girl her shoes and told her to not give up on her dreams. The girl then asked Angelina what her dreams were, Angelina answered that she wanted to be a superstar, and the girl said she would pray for her success. Since then, Angelina has performed barefoot in honor of that little girl and to those who are less fortunate around the world. She keeps this promise to this day. Amazed, gobsmacked, overwhelmed, speechless, surprised are some of the inadequate words I (and many reactors) have used in the attempt to put a label on what Angelina does. She is very special, indeed. Promotion and album release by Republic Records should happen soon. You got to "meet" her before the explosion. Lots of suggestions and links in the comments. A certain Mr Quincy Jones personally invited her to open his 85th birthday concert in London when she was 12! So I guess you could say that her jazz chops have been well and truly rubber-stamped by the best in the business. When asked at 7 years old, she listed Louis Armstrong, Billie Holiday, Dinah Washington, Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra as some of her favourites. Little Mix and One Direction didn't even get a mention.

Listened to Jazz all her life and started singing at 1 and 1/2
She listened to jazz since she was a toddler and fell in love with it. Having started singing at 1,5 y she once said, this music has so much heart, she wants to bring it back to the center stage. She later had some coaching to protect her from doing damage to her voice, but mostly she's been self taught. It wouldnt surprise me if she were doing things in an unexpected way for you. If you dont "know" its impossible, you might figure out a way to actually pull it off regardless.

This must be the Golden Buzzer video or you skipped the intro. In the intro you would have met Angelina and found out that she was 7 when she won Norway's Got Talent and she is 13 here. Angelina won Norway's Got talent in 2014, at the age of 7! Her B&W cover of 'I put a spell on you, at the age of 9 with Angelina doing her own arrangements, (since she was 7 years old) is just crazy. In this video, the page the gentleman is holding at the beginning, is actually her handwritten notes laying out what she expects from everyone. In studio, they playfully call her the "Little Boss". Only her grandmother is present, other than the studio crew. On the candle she holds up, is Screamin' Jay Hawkins. He wrote it, and performed it originally. Nina Simone later covered it. 😆💕
Angelina has sung barefoot, except for rehearsals, since age 6 in remembrance of an orphan girl near her age that she met on the street in the middle east. The girl was using bathroom scales and weighing people for money. It was cold, she was barefoot, and her feet were scarred. They chatted about their dreams, and she asked Angelina what her dream was. Of course, Angelina said she wanted to be a singer, and sing for the whole world, and asked the girl about her dream. The girl said she wanted to be a doctor, but that was not possible because she had siblings to care for, and she wished Angelina luck in becoming a singing star, and she told Angelina she would pray for her every day. Angelina, on the spot, gave her the sea green boots, her favorites, that she was wearing and told her to never give up on her dreams, called her a “princess” and that she would always remember her.
Angelina wrote in her diary that day, “…to be able to do something for another human, it was such a big thing. Hard to describe really.” Angelina, at 9, became Norway's youngest author when she wrote a book about it, "Mellom to hjerter" ("Between Two Hearts"). Angelina promised herself never to wear shoes when performing again until there were no more children around the world without shoes, clothing, or family. In her book Angelina says, “In respect for you and all children like you, and that you prayed to God, today I walk barefoot on cold floors in front of so many people and sing. This book is for you little princess. You’re like sunshine! I remember and remember you every day.”
Angelina has raised many millions of Euros and Dollars around the world performing at charity concerts since age 8. So, to this day, almost 9 years later, Angelina has always performed barefoot in public. NGT Judge Mia Gundersen called Angelia’s voice, “a gift from the universe.” To me, the true gift to us all is Angelina herself.

You do not know what you are in for. I have been able to listen to her every day for 8 years because no 2 songs are the same. She has learned her craft trying on genre and vocal techniques like a little girl trying on shoes. She is called the barefoot angel with 100 voices. High, low, gritty, raspy, fry, pure jazz, distinctive vibrato. She has a gorgeous low register that you can catch in her tik tok shorts. Well worth watching a compilation of those. Bottom line no one song will scratch the surface in understanding her brilliance.

You have fallen into the vortex of Angelina Jordan who arguably brings the most confident, versatile, seemingly effortless, and fearless vocal artistry found today (whether measured across artists, genres, or decades). You may think this an exaggeration but listen to a few more of her many performances (160+ covers plus original songs - all on YT) and you will see! She has been performing at a high level all over the world since age 8 when she won Norway's Got Talent singing Billie Holiday, Nancy Sinatra, and Gershwin. It is the rare singer that can, as Angelina has done, go from Queen to "Screamin" Jay Hawkins to Adele to Elvis to Whitney Houston to Michael Jackson to Etta James to James Brown to Amy Winehouse to the Beatles (and many others in between) and do them all justice!
If you want to hear music, listen to anyone. If you want to feel music, listen to Angelina. She will stagger you with her ability to find and bring forth the 'essence', the emotional message of nearly any song. You have far to go with Angelina. I want to compliment you for recognizing the different styles in Angelina's voice. Very perceptive. As you may know now, she started singing at a very early age, and with her Alto voice, she gravitated toward Jazz classics, R&B, and Blues. She won the Norway's Got Talent contest at age 7. I would recommend her cover of the Etta James classic, " I'd Rather Go Blind" Be sure to pull up the video of her at age 12 (?), just sitting on a couch and nailing that song. At age 15-16 she covered the Whitney Houston classic "I Have Nothing" and several Adele songs. Lastly, check out her live performance at a Jazz Festival of the Labirynth song "Mount Everest" She is, without a doubt, the most highly skilled vocalist of her age, maybe any age.
It's evident that you know what you are talking about. Indeed, she grew up listening to jazz, the genre she feels most comfortable with, among her versions is Billie Jean in jazz style, a masterpiece (IMO), although I doubt very much that Republic Records would agree that she over-cultivates such a little genre commercial in their plans to make her the next queen of the music scene.
AJ was bottle fed jazz from birth and took to it like a fish to water. If you really want to explore one of the great vocal talents of our time, start at the beginning with her audition for Norway’s Got Talent (which she won) at age 7.

Born Angelina Jordan Astar on January 10, 2006 in Oslo, Norway to her Norwegian mother, Sara Astar and her Swedish father, Gerry Christian Slattman.
Angelina started singing around 18 months of age, after listening to Whitney Houston on RUclips. She quickly became obsessed with listening to music videos and her maternal grandmother, Mery Zamani got Angelina interested in classic jazz.
Mery Zamani is Iranian and was a prodigy as an artist and poet while growing up in Iran. Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School and participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where starting around age 4, she had training in music but no vocal training. Her teachers were smart enough to not attempt to change what she was doing vocally. More recently she along with her grandmother have designed and made the clothing she wears on stage.
Why Angelina always performs barefoot At age 6, while traveling in the Middle East with her mother and grandmother, Angelina noticed a girl around her age standing on the side of the road, asking people to step on her bathroom scale to be weighed in hopes of getting some money. Angelina took off her shoes so as to not get the scale dirty and stepped on the scale many times to make the girl feel better. Angelina befriends the girl who was not wearing shoes and has scars on her feet, and learns she is an orphan. The orphan girl tells Angelina how beautiful she thinks her shoes are. Angelina says her shoes don’t fit her well and she wants to give her shoes to the orphan girl who thanks Angelina for giving her the shoes. Angelina asked the girl what she wanted to be when she grew up and the girl replied, “I want to become a doctor, but that will never happen since I have no parents and I have siblings so I have to do whatever is necessary for us to survive.” Angelina told the girl to never give up on her dreams. The poor girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grew up and Angelina replied that she wanted to sing for the whole world. The poor girl said she would pray every day so Angelina’s dream would come true. Angelina still says she thinks of that homeless girl every day and has always performed barefoot to remind her of all the children who are less fortunate.
At age 9, she became the youngest published author in Norway’s history by writing a book about this encounter in the Middle East. PLEASE PURCHASE Angelina’s book from her merchandise store on her official website, angelinajordanofficial Angelina, at age 6 and 7, did record a few songs in a recording studio at her school, most notably “I Who Have Nothing”, a truly remarkable performance for a 7 year old. At age 7, Angelina’s audition on Norway’s Got Talent, was a cover of Billie Holiday’s “Gloomy Sunday”, a song which was banned by a number of European countries during World War II because authorities worried the song would increase the suicide rate. Truly bizarre that this is the song to launch the career of a child musical prodigy. One of the judges on NGT cried. Angelina had turned 8 years old for her next performance on NGT, covering Billie Holiday’s “I’m a Fool to Want You” singing acapella which was required by NGT unless the singer also played an instrument while singing. This was the Judge’s cut round of the competition and was not performed in front of an audience. In the Semi Final round of NGT, Angelina sang “Bang Bang” which was written by Sonny Bono and was first performed by his wife Cher but is best known sung by Nancy Sinatra. The improvement in each performance is incredible even though there were only a couple months between them. In the Finals, Angelina did a cover of George Gershwin’s, “Summertime” and won the contest, capturing 46% of the votes from the ten finalists. When asked what she would like to do with the prize money she won (500,000 kroner or about $80,000), Angelina replied, “I want to give it to the poor children”. Angelina had become a star in her native Norway and her videos on RUclips went viral. She gave a few concerts during the summer of 2014 while 8 years old. In December 2014, Angelina realized a life-long desire to sing at the Save the Children's Peace Prize Celebration which is part of the Noble Peace Prize celebration. Angelina’s family took her to United States, Brazil, Germany, France, United Kingdom, Russia, South Korea, Singapore among other corners of Earth, to perform for heads of state and to help raise money for charity. All before Angelina turned 14. At age 9, Angelina recorded a music video covering the 1956 Jay Hawkin’s classic, “I Put a Spell On You”. The video begins by showing Angelina writing her “wishes” for how she wants to perform the song. Angelina has always created her own arrangements for her cover songs. At age 10 and just a week before her 11th birthday, Angelina recorded a demo of “I’m Still Holding Out for You”. Her family never pursued having that recording officially released but someone leaked it on a RUclips video. Thankfully, everyone involved with that song is now ok with the leaked version. Many angels (fans) believe this is one of Angelina’s best performances. When Angelina was 11, she performed a number of concerts in Norway with a jazz/rock band. Those concerts included up to 14 songs, each remarkably performed. Angelina seems to be at her best when on stage, never nervous, only 100% confident. Also at age 11, Angelina recorded her “It’s Magic” album which has, at times, been in the top 10 best selling jazz albums. On June 27, 2018, at age 12, Jordan performed Frank Sinatra “Fly Me to the Moon” for Quincy Jones in The O2 Arena in London. She has said that was the high point of her young career which was already in it’s 6th year. During 2018, Angelina lost her paternal grandfather, her friend Avicii and one of her idols, Aretha Franklin. She did a moving tribute for each. In 2019, Angelina accepted an invitation to compete in the 2nd season of America’s Got Talent (AGT), The Champions. She had, since age 3, wanted to perform for Simon Cowell and she earned his praise with her genius arrangement of “Bohemian Rhapsody”. The surviving members of Queen loved it so much they put a link to it on their Twitter. Angelina was eliminated after covering Elton John’s “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”. Angelina’s family refused to sign any agreement with AGT. Angelina, before age 14, had covered more than 130 songs from 80 different artists, spanning at least 8 genres, all of which are available on RUclips. Angelina has always made changes to each song she covers and often her version is preferred over the original. The pandemic hit shortly after her performances on AGT and likely caused a change of plans by her family, most notably her Uncle Michael who is her manager. Her family agreed to a contract with Republic Records in August 2020. Republic Records declared Angelina Jordan their highest priority new artist. Reportedly her family requested Republic to allow her as normal a childhood as possible and therefore have yet to fully promote her. During the pandemic, Angelina was often seen buying meals for the homeless on the streets of Los Angeles. In November 2020, Angelina released “Million Miles” which she wrote after the passing of her beloved maternal grandfather. She dedicated the song to anyone who has ever lost a loved one. Angelina had previously released, 3 other original songs: “What is Life”, “Oslo” and “Shield” In April 2021, her original “7th Heaven” was released. A jazzy, danceable, inspiring song. Angelina has posted numerous short performances on Tik Tok and Instagram. Angelina had concerts in Norway in July 2022. Personally, Angelina as a great human being and her music came into my life when I needed it most. Her music has improved the quality of my life more than I can express. I now introduce her to as many people as I can, with the hope her music will do the same for others. We know once her family believes the time is right and allows Republic Records to fully promote her, she will become the superstar she has always dreamt and believed she would be. At age 7 she auditioned for Norway's Got Talent with Billie Holiday's "Gloomy Sunday." She was 8 when she won that competition with George Gershwin's "Summertime" sung in the style of Ella Fitzgerald.
