Looks Aleutian. I like it, Ive tried and tried to get the female face right. Can picture it but cant make my hands duplicate it. Great work Paul.

Hey Mike thanks, you’re right about Aleutian. I see the traits, this was just messing around,
doodle carving. Funny how it came out, I’m doing some subtle mods for the part 2.
There’s a point where you have to stop though..

That was great to watch. A smooth female face is very difficult to carve compared to a craggy and bearded male! You managed to carve out a very interesting and unusual female. She has a great expression and character. A mixture of contemplation and anguish.
I have a question for you:
I've watched many of your videos and I have never seen you use sandpaper . Why do you prefer the steel wool (is it 00?), instead of sandpaper or a Scotch-Brite pad which most wood Carvers use? I would love to know from you. Thank you for posting these best wishes to you

Thanks Jay, matter of fact, this next video coming up shows some sandpaper work, I use the wool more predominantly but bounce
around sandpaper & steel wool occasionally..
This will have a follow video detailing things more in minute ways. Thanx for the ? & comment!🌝

A fun carve to watch! Thanks for sharing your process. I haven't tried a female face yet,...it sounds like a great challenge to try though. 👍😊

Thanks Kjirsten, It’s a different process with
female faces. Definitely challenging but rewarding. It takes me longer with female
      features, more methodical 🌝.

@@wood-psyche I believe that! Lol. I've been a pencil sketch type of artist for years, but it's so different from carving. I've been watching some clay sculpting videos in hopes it'll trigger my brain to better see the planes and angles of the faces in my carvings. 🤷‍♀️ Again, different mediums, but I never went to any art school, so it's worth a try. Maybe it'll train my brain into more 2D and 3D? At any rate, carving is so much fun, so even if my people don't look like I want them to, yet,...I can always make them more fanciful than realistic! Love your videos . Thank you so much for taking the time to make and share them! 👍😁✨
