I thought I had my laughs under control and risked a drink of water, but when George started getting irate about Jerry's jacket I spat it out over my keyboard and monitor :)
The 1st season had a couple duds, but how it took 4 years before this show caught on is insane. I’ve seen them all now but about halfway thru the 1st season my old man said you gotta watch this show and I was hooked
His acting got better as the seasons went along IMO. The good thing is that he was surrounded by great actors in the other 3 characters. If he would have had to carry the show alone it would have exposed him but he didn't have to. In the first 2 seasons I think his lack of acting skills is more apparent. The later seasons is when the show really clicked. Again my own personal opinion.
Jerry's "lack" of true acting skills is actually what made the show in addition to the rest of the characters who are incredible actors.. I love how Jerry is always on the verge of (truly) laughing 😂. One of the best shows ever ❤️
He said in an interview that most of the time when he isn't acting on the show he's just kind of contemplating his partner's act, thinking to himself, "This is incredible good acting". He isn't that bad imo, he's just playing his own character, it must be hard to look like you're acting doing so without doing too much. You've got to act without acting ;)
One of my favorite lines I even used as a joke in real life is,"I was in the pool, I was in the pool!" One of my favorite episodes. I have every DVD that was ever produced,a complete collection.
