So , the EA888 is used in a BUNCH of cars in Europe...Skoda, Seat, and pretty much anything under the VAG banner that needs a 4 banger with some juice. Thing is, last time I checked, the EA888 that Europe got, had port and direct injection, meanwhile the Mexican made USDM MK7's only had direct injection which is a bit of a bitch.
The MK7 and MK8 GTI's are really impressive in terms of their potential. Yeah, you can probably build a Honda that makes more power, but I feel like the GTI can give you an incredibly comfortable ride that hauls ass (Same goes for the Golf R). @@rovanek9457

Trust me people are childish with it. If I race somebody and get beat I'm still happy because we had a fun run. I'll do pulls with cars that I already know are faster cos it's for the sport
I raced an Audi on the highway in my 5 cylinder VW golf for about 30km. He had well over 100 hp on me and we both had the time of our lives!

VW are the only cars I don’t care about mostly due to the punch buggy looking so ugly. Must say tho when I saw/heard a boosted one a few weeks ago it sounded like a jet and eveyrone in my car turned their heads and it was already gone😂
@@NoOneForNow1even my octavia with just software is hitting low 5s 0-60 (awful traction) and very good 60-130 time of about 11s. Puts it in good company with other stock cars like an m3

Go for a Seat Leon Cupra. Its a GTI with R turbo. More power than GTI, more fun than R. Less money tho.

@@martin29786 It is like 10% worse than Golf. Cheaper plastic and slightly worse noise insulation. Looks better though and the infotainment has better customization. For a few creaks you are left with enough money to go Stage 2 instantly.

I had a '71 Super Beetle with a 911 turbo swap, at the cost of my back seat,(didn't want the hinges poking out), but people "thought" it was just all looks, but the every panel, trunk, engine lid was fiberglass, & had it converted to 5 lug, with fenders to provide extra grip, so much so i snapped the rear able, & so did the guy who i sold it to at Great Lakes DragWay, thing ran 10's in the ¼mile in the late 90's/early 2000's.,oh, the memories at almost 50, now I'm building & racing high speed ebikes. Lol

thats because they are boring. just because a car is fast, doesn't mean its exhilarating. Sure, they have serious potential to be bonkers, but they are expensive, heavy, and rather unassuming. they dont catch eyes, and thats why people sleep on them... but they are quick, no doubt about that

Every new car is getting out with 10000 safety systems, automatic transmission, you just press the gas and go. nothing fun about it.... I can have a lot more fun in small manual hot hatch on twisties
