It would also be interesting to discuss why so many journal editors, associate editors, and members of their editorial board 'use' their own journal to publish, what the procedure for reviewing their work is, the transparency of the process, and the ethical issues involved. Lastly, it would be interesting to discuss why so many journal editors take an eternity (e.g., 6, 9, or more months) to send manuscripts for review, or simply do not reply to authors' messages asking the status of their paper.
