Yeah but to be fair Brittany is ‘the land of the Britons’. Briton, as in the native inhabitants of the isle of Britain. Britons were a Celtic people, basically Welsh, and they eventually colonised Brittany forming a new group called the Bretons. But that was after the Romans, it shouldn’t be called Brittany yet. Asterix and Obelix focuses on a group of Celtic people native to France, the Gauls, who are different to the Bretons who arrive later, after the Romans, and take over large parts of modern day Brittany. So in other words they don’t live in Brittany since the name doesn’t exist yet, they live in the Roman province of Armorica or the land of Osismii to the Gauls
@@Elipson52008 Coincidence, "Armorica" comes from Gaulish _Aremorica_ "the land close to the sea". While America is named after the explorer Amerigo Vespucci. Amerigo comes from the Germanic _Haimric_ meaning "king of the house".
