    This doesn't work on 2022 model. Forced updates are now happening without my consent and it's resulting in my abandoning the device as well as refusal to buy any other new replacement smartphones. I'm cancelling my services with my carrier next, permanently. I don't need a phone if it means forced updates against my will and without my consent.

      It's so annoying.. My phone seems to have one every day.. just turns off after midnight sometime..I don't see ANYWHERE A TO STOP IT.. All the options I see in articles online are NOT on MY phone m

      Exactly! And if you put it off, it BOMBAREDS you with reminders to the point you can't even use your phone! I'm with you on not getting anymore phones. I hate the damn things anyway! And they only do it to eat up your memory. I remember one IMPORTANT update was the installation of 2 games. Like, this is absurd and I won't keep a phone much longer.

      Maybe try going into developer mode and see if you can stop the auto updates from there..... Idk.

    I have that off and it still pushes the updates

    • @whispergirl77
      @whispergirl77 11 месяцев назад +5

      It sure does! And if you ignore the "reminders" it will just tell you to update your phone every 7 seconds so you HAVE to if you need to use your phone. 😡. I think I don't need this phone anymore.

    This doesn't work. The bloody phone still updates. I needed to make a call this afternoon and it decided it was going to update.

    Doesn't disable constant notifications and reminders to update... Also if not reset, it will still update

      Turn on developer options by clicking 5-6 times in Build Number, (in about phone) this will enable Developer Options, then go to that developer option, and turn off auto updates

      @@ironman2.026still didn't work. It automatically downloaded the update

      Ok what you have to do is go to App. Show system apps then choose Software Update. Then click notifications several times off. Then force stop the app. This will at least disable crazy updates notifications until you restart. Done.

      @@vendellarossawhat do you mean "click notifications several times off" I don't understand that direction.

    • @vendellarossa
      @vendellarossa 3 месяца назад

      @greggyfontane1487 when you click it off the button will revert as if you didn't do anything what I'm saying you need to turn the notifications off several times in order for the button to stay off permanently otherwise it will switch back on automatically after you switching off. Hope it helps. Based on my Edge + 2023

    Seems like people in the comments are having the same issues I am, every update makes my phone worse, and it will force you to update, even if this option is disabled. It really sucks, cuz I really liked this phone when I first got it.

    Doesn't work on my Motorola Edge 30 pro after it forced auto update to Android 13. It does it EVERY Day. I really hate auto updates, almost always they are useless pieces of bloatware clogging our phones so that we need to buy new ones

  • @llspragulus
    @llspragulus 5 месяцев назад +1

    You are not able to disable the forced updates. Unfortunately, Motorola loves putting in a read-only partition "priv-app". Moto loads all their bloatware in there preventing you from either stopping or uninstalling the apps. It's quite disgusting. Even if you root the phone, it's damn near impossible to get rid of it. It's easier to just load an entire new OS.
