    this is similar to 'shuttle dips'; except this is not done on parallel bars. calisthenic enthusiasts should know this move. still a good progression before going into the muscle up. :)

    The one thing I miss about Crossfit is the muscle endurance and great cardio workout. The bad thing about bodybuilding is I get more injures and problems from workin out but I have a more complete physique. Overall Crossfit is more beneficial

    • @djshadowpain
      @djshadowpain 10 лет назад +11

      This is a fuckin shame really. What is a complete physique anyways? Strong? no. You look at strongman competition, xfitters will not look like that. Agile? NO too. martial arts fighters & dancers, they don't look like crosfitters (but that is as close of a physique type as it gets.) Endurance? Looking like any marathon athletes? No to that too. So, I call you bullshit with "more complete physique." Plus how are you getting more injuries in working out bodybuilding training style? That is fuckin bullshit and you know it too. Xfit and its complex movements will probably give you more injuries if anything. I don't even hate on xfit, but the fact that idiots like you spew bullshit thinking that it's ok is doing a everyone a disservice. Bodybuilding has been one of the MOST beneficial thing for years. It helps people feel good, confident. It helped porn industry. It helped people GOING INTO CROSSFIT - cause, the entry point to fitness is the look, the society expectation of one's vanity worthiness. If it wasn't for bodybuilding and physique athletes modeling magazine covers, healthy food packagings/promos/ads and clothing, crossfit will not thrive.

    • @waswaswad
      @waswaswad 10 лет назад +17

      Are you kidding me? There are more injuries in Crosshit than in Bodybuilding. Because all those jerks want to lift heavy and are incapable of doing so, not even paying attention to the correct form.

  • @TimothyApe
    @TimothyApe 10 лет назад +4

    Hm, I am always a bit sceptic with these kinds of jerking movements. I can clearly see that this can help with the muscle up, but I would refrain from putting this in a regular training routine. The sudden stress on a sensitive area like the shoulders should make you highly aware of any kind of pain, though impingements and its symptomes come to your attention after years, when you are already wreaked havoc on the shoulders and cant take it back :(

    • @kblkbl
      @kblkbl 7 лет назад

      That's because it shouldn't be a jerking motion. The ascent should be explosive but the descent should be controlled.

    • @MonsterAndrewable
      @MonsterAndrewable 10 лет назад +5

      Well, with all the others ones it was after olympic weightlifting where eastern european countries were always the ones with the best training methodology, so the good stuff got popular with that.

    • @shmana
      @shmana 10 лет назад +7

      I know that the Bulgarians named the first one. The second one I'm pretty sure was a name given by the Romanians. And I'm really not positive but I've been told the Russians were responsible for naming the 3rd one

    • @thundermyth

      Nicu Vlad, a phenomenal weightlifter from Romania, visited the U.S. Olympic training centre in 1990 and was seen doing the exercise we call romanian deadlifts, which is how it got it's name. Bulgarian split squats I have no idea.

    I dont understand. Every video on muscle ups tells you to situp as hard as u can and "throw your ponytail" through. Here sahe says dont do that and stay upright. Which is it?

    • @georgemack2614
      @georgemack2614 10 лет назад +1

      Standard Crossfit super "Efficient" muscle up typically used for the games, is the one you sit up as hard and as fast as you can. The gymnastic strict ring muscle up is the one you want your torso to stay upright. The chances of injuring your shoulder with a gymnastic strict ring muscle up substantially less than the standard crossfit muscle up.

    Man this move has been out for years, please crossfit don't take all the credit for this one as though something you came up with I have seen this move done on RUclips videos by guys who work out at the park using dip bars, anyone heard of Hannibal for king, barbarians, Frank medrano, bartendaz, bar stars and bar masters, crossfit should work with these guys,

    • @andrewstewart152
      @andrewstewart152 10 лет назад +17

      Pretty sure if they were trying to take credit for it, it would not be called "The Russian Dip." I doubt crossfit claims any movement for that matter. Some bad crossfit coaches on the other hand....

      anything can cause pain if your body is not prepared through the proper progressions. Otherwise it's simply an advanced move that can aid in human movement and fitness. calisthenic guys have been doing this move for years and years.

  • @freashty
    @freashty 10 лет назад +2

  • @aceofspades7605
    @aceofspades7605 8 лет назад

    She would smash her elbows to pieces if she did this on bars. Jerky movements will destroy rotator cuffs coming up loaded from a dip. The lowering should be slow and controlled and that requires a lot of wrist and forearm strength, the transition should be gradual to the dip using the legs to provide slight momentum pushing the body forward.

      Your body can adapt to amazing things. If the general public watched bar stars street workout calisthenics workout or elite olympic weightlifting they would lose their minds from how "unsafe" and "bad on the joints" it is. When if you progress and prepare properly, a lot can be achieved safely. To be great you test the limits of the human body.
