If you want a good taste of it watch an LP up to the first mini boss of the game, and that'll give you a good taste of what you're in for before you make a purchasing decision.
The Cursa boss fight is like a clock tower boss, with how the other sides aren’t able to do anything until cursa comes near. It’s kinda cool is cursa is actually controlling the field like that.

i like how i thought this game used to be really hard, but when i found out you can turn off vulnerability, aka taking damage from enemies, getting to a certain area or defeating enemies just got a whole lot easier

There is an one time uses item you can buy in the shop in the game that allows you to move after you shoot.
