But Gohan and Piccolo's relationship is really heartwarming and wholesome, especially seeing how Piccolo is even caring for Pan now. Both friendships are awesome, but for different reasons.

Garou literally just wanted to be a hero that's higher than human self-interest Since in his childhood, he wanted not only the humans in his hero tv show to be saved, but also the world they live in, which was fought for by the ugly villain, trying to preserve and restore nature.
Yeah he wanted to become the ultimate villian where even other monsters and villains feared him so that way everyone unites together. This method does work, I mean almost every world war allowed many people to unites or gain an equal footing.

In Murata's version, after he got saved, he felt guilty for leaving Tareo and asked if the heroes could save him. Then the two became friends. I also love that instead of running away like in the og and training and living life while hiding, Garou was scolded by Bang and became his student again teaching him what he did wrong and making him apologize to everyone he hurt.

Saitama took in consideration tareo words and used that as a lesson yo save him because of genos being his friend. Making garou understand how he felt when seeing genos core but tareo from his radiation though. As a parallel that was done perfectly and this why i love murata and one's story telling the little hidden things ate the best
I’ll never forget how sad it was to see Garou literally crawl away from Tareo, out of pure fear and sadness for the effects his radiation had on Tareo. He genuinely felt nothing but love for that kid and genuine guilt for harming him. I’m tearing up just thinking about it. It was heart wrenching.
Love how they actually ended up Garou. The whole plot twist from the kid is one of what made one punch man different from different animes. But we actually got to see still Saitama fight him, even if Blast erased that timeline.
The fact that this kid's life having such a universe level impact AND causing the mighty King to save Garou from certain death was my favorite part of this saga.
This kid could have an awesome story arc where he grows up to be a hero that advocates for attempting to rehabilitate monsters into just being good citizens or turning over entirely to being heroes, obviously this is the one punch man world so that probably wouldn't get far it it would be a fun attempt to watch
