Finally posting another edit that's been sitting on the shelf for far too long! (and of course, there are more of those to come, I've been hoarding lol)
It's been years but I still love Thorin's character so much and I wanted to make a tribute to him. I have a more in-depth character study vid on Thorin that's currently still a WIP but it's planned to be a long one, I was losing steam, and I wanted to finish something at least. Hence, I edited this! I couldn't help but think of Thorin whenever I listened to this song. This edit fell together quite easily compared to any other I've done and though I still have some nitpicks about it, I'm rather proud! I wanted to focus on Thorin's love for his people, his homeland; the duty he feels to both; his strength in overcoming the dragon sickness; and the loyalty and love his fellow dwarves, and others, still hold for him despite it all. I wish he had lived to see Erebor become home to his people again.

P.S. I'm so sorry about some of the dialogue volume, Thorin was so quiet in that corridor at Bag End, and the audio in the original file was so quiet in itself as well. It was a battle and a half to make it audible without quieting the music to a whisper. I have literally pushed the volume to the highest it can go. Please turn on CC for captions, if you're still struggling to hear His Majesty The Chronic-Whisperer.

I learned to both love and hate Thorin, but in the end, it comes down to simply one thing - Thorin Oakenshield is a great man
Yes, I agree - I had a much bigger project planned for him in which I explore both his greatness and his hypocrisy, and his humanity (dwarfanity??? sdjkhgkjfg) and his trauma. How history repeated itself and he was victim to something out of his control, something he saw consume his grandfather and therefore their people as a result. I basically wanted to do a character study vid! But it was such an ambitious thing for me at the time that I very quickly lost steam lol. Maybe one day I'll go back to it!!
