    That’s the problem with Massey balers. Cores are too tight, a JD would fall right apart in the mixer 😂😂😂

    Just thought I would drop my input. We have had a mixer for 10-12 years. Just upgraded last fall. Ours we put 1800lb max 2000b dry matter. Otherwise it’s just too much and won’t grind good. Then can top up with too about 7000lb. Ours has a really tall extension like 10 inches. So our neighbor used to do marshmallow bales and and even bought a prechopper for it and still didn’t like the way it worked in his tmr mixer. It’s just too raggy and took too long for his liking. He runs a smaller feedlot and not a cow calf like us. Not sure what his exact ration is now but he ended up selling his baler and wrapper

      It's seems to be working but now we need to sit down and figure the cheapest way to feed. The tmr just gives us a lot more options.

      @@TwinElmFarms Yep. Changed our feeding when we went from an old feed truck to it. We love the flexibility it gives us. We have fed all kinds of things. WE are feeding 1/4 of 4x4 alfalfa bale and 1/4 grass 3x4 and 1 oat greenfeed with fall rye silage. They clean it right up. Weve also fed timothy bale or even pea straw the ability to find a cheap feed option for dry matter and blend it off is amazing in tmrs

    It looked like to me it where you put the bale in on the 2nd one. Looked like you put it over to the other side when you dropped it in

      We tried a bunch of different areas to drop the bales. The augers flip them around and they end up where they end up. Didn't seem to make much difference

    can you drop the bail in from the other side

    • @TwinElmFarms
      @TwinElmFarms  Месяц назад +1

      We could but not sure how that would help? The augers move and flip the bale no matter where we place them

    Don’t you guys put any wind bricks out there for them cattle? I think they’d appreciate it.

      We do have wind breaks. Where they are now, they can almost always escape the wind. We try to put our feed in the area so they are out of the wind.
