Bluntly I think that you and your wife made a very good decision getting a new Outback. The new ones are much better built. The head gasket issue has finally been resolved and they’re very nice riding cars. My mother’s been driving them since 1994 and it’s still my favorite car to drive in the snow. And since she doesn’t like driving in the snow very much that works out perfectly for me.
I felt that i was watching an episode of Top Gear when he was driving and explaining the specs of the Subaru 😂
Make a funnel by cutting the bottom off of one of your old, empty oil containers. Turn it upside down, put it in the fill hole and pour. You can just save that cut container for every time you need to add oil.

Sway bars were the best low cost upgrade i put on my outback ( The Turbo probably has the larger ones already?). Yokohama geolanders were my favorite tires for fire roads / on road blend without too much noise. Subaruoutback .org is a great resource.

Subaru resale value so high and with lagging new car sales now, makes lots of sense to buy new. Also get your full warranty and you know how the car was broken in and driven.

You do have to be a man to drive a mustang. Hence why most supercar owners won’t drive the 760hp DCT GT500 that stomps a c8 and handles as good as a Porsche gt3rs
