Susie her sister was my babysitter and so nice!! I adored her! Had a little crush on her big brother Tony. Love AC - Apt 203! ❤️ **** So proud of Maria always!! She has a lot to be proud of!! Wow!! I saw National Velvet for the first time at the Aqua Duck in Welland, Ontario while attending Niagara College between ‘87 - ‘89. I was already a fan from hearing them on the radio and buying their Cassette (which I still have! LOL), but that concert solidified them as one of my favourite of all time alt rock bands. It didn’t hurt that Maria was drop dead gorgeous! After college I moved to TO to work, my gf at the time was actually an acquaintance of Maria’s and told me that she was working as a cigarette girl at RPM’s nightclub in downtown Toronto. Went there and met her in person, and was totally star struck, she was even more beautiful in person. Ahhhhh, I miss those Toronto clubbing days.
Was in a band back in the 80's and all we wanted to do was to play with Maria and the band. We finally got to open for them at the El Mocambo. Cool night for sure!! Couldn't wait to finish our set to hear them play! Got there early to hear their soundcheck cuz I could!

I was a regular at all their Ottawa shows and often sat chatting with Maria after the shows, she was so cool, warm and eager to give of her time. Best shows!
Saw National Velvet at 86 Street in Vancouver (old Expo 86’ club) & they opened up for #LondonQuireBoys & absolutely BLEW THEM AWAY! It was 1989 & it was one of the best rock & roll gigs I’ve ever seen! Lead singer was incredible (Maria was absolutely stunning). All I can say is that it was stunning & magical!

Saw Maria Del Mar last night at the Hard Rock Cafe and althopugh I didn't stick around to hear her perform there was majority of mfolks that came down to see her cause they hadn't seen her live in fifteen years. She dioes shows here and there but hopefully she'll once again will play live on a full time scale again.
Well, I painted her portrat and had a roadie present it to her at the Nag;'s head concert in ,I think, January ,1991...Winter..She thanked me from the stage at the opening of the show ,but I was too shy to come forward...All best Maria...It was a double portrait...small..lots of greens..sorry I made your eyes red on one side of the portrait...Be well...It will be signed from me Jeff Falko

@sweiland75- I don't think she is doing anything with music anymore. I don't really like talking to stars about music anyways cause they hear it from everyone else. But she hasn't mentioned anything about it. But she still looks great, just a little older, and she can play one mean game of pool lol. But she's doing great, healthy and everything. She lives in Toronto in the west end. If you ever want to see her, she usually hangs out at dundas and ossington at a few bars there.
