Ah, fresh meat... err, I mean welcome, new guy Graham Houts! 🤗 It's cool to see a new face at NRG. As much as I've always loved ES-175 models (and I love them dearly), I still don't have one. Does anyone out there feel inspired to donate one? 😄 I promise to coax the sweetest notes from her and always treat her special. 🙃
Really dextrous, nice touch, thankyou Graham. I believe the ES175 differs from the L5 in various respects; the L5s we're all solid, originally hand carved maple with spruce tops. They had parallel bracing and we're large instruments. ES 175s were indeed more of a workhorse (costing $175) with laminated top, back & sides (maple), originally fitted with p90's and I think cross bracing. Check out Joe Pass & Pat Metheny!
Well I couldn't afford one of these when I was studying jazz so I got a blond '56 Guild x500 that needs to be restored still to this day. Please god help me get the binding redone without going into extreme debt.
Damn that was great! But what is the name of that first tune! I know I recognize it and it is stuck on the tip of my tongue but I can't remember it for the life of me. Somebody help me out and Happy New Year!
Talk about throwing a guy in the fire. When you play like that Graham, your guitar does all the talking for you. Noticed how master specs Brandon always seems to be grabbing a guitar in the back ground in the videos.
It's strange to me when I hear that. The reason is because of how "smart" it is, and I for one can definitely appreciate it. The complexity of it is incredible. Idk how anyone can hate anything to be honest...there's so much to appreciate. It makes me think someone is completely dumb and lost when they say they hate jazz
@Wesley alan understood, but I'd just rather sit in silence than run up blind alleys musically.. I must just be dumb I suppose...love billy strings tho lol plus I'm convinced complexity in certain genres of music make people believe they must be uber intelligent/ complex to enjoy it & love to show everyone else who might disagree?
@@deanlatimer2323 Absolutely. I tend to give others a hard time when they say they hate something..it's not personal, I promise. It's the reaction I'm looking for, and your reaction was perfect. You're a good dude, I can tell👍
By all that's holy......BRING THIS KID BACK!!!! So good to hear some jazz.
Absolutely brilliant Graham.
Awesome Guitar Of The Day debut performance. Well done!
Thank you for the infusion of the jazz variety!
Welcome aboard Graham! Excellent playing!
Welcome aboard, Graham…love the mellow, cool jazz. The ES 175 is gorgeous!
Welcome Graham Houts! Nice job playing a beautiful guitar. 👏👏👏
Probably the most good looking 175 I've ever seen! 😍
I think it's safe to call him "golden Graham" well done , merry Christmas
Well done! Let’s here more of the jazz, Graham!
Cool guitar. Nice playing Graham.
Welcome to the NRG family, Graham. Looking forward to hearing more from you.
Graham, nice playing ! Beautiful Guitar. I hope you enjoy working at Normans.
Kalamazoo Michigan USA is the birthplace of this fine instrument 🎸
😎 Thanks Jen Graham Brandon ⚓️
Welcome!
Welcome aboard Graham! Nice to meet you!
Well done sir! Great playing.
Appears a genuinely nice person thanks Graham.
I have a 2016 natural 175 which I understand it was the last of the production runs of the 175's that then became custom shop only.
I AM ABSOLUTELY DYING TO AFFORD THAT EXACT GUITAR. DAM!
Graham is the man🎼
Welcome Graham… great debut ! Looking forward to you and johnathan Stout playing together
Welcome Graham love the jazz you play I will now watch you more so I can try to play jazz ❤👍🏻👍🏻🎸🎸🎸☮️
Nice to hear the natural tone.
Impressive!
Welcome aboard, Graham. Good to hear the jazz influence :)

Super Graham! Great pickin'! And gorgeous ES175. That's my dream guitar.
Well done Graham!
I like Graham, very talented and has a lot to offer! Welcome.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. First Rate demonstration.
Very nice job and I hope you enjoyed it too
Pretty select company you are joining
Masterful

Good job Graham!
Hey there. Is Lemmo away again?
Seems a bit nervous and who wouldn't be? Relax, kid. You're part of the family, now. Welcome to the newest member.
awesome playing Graham! :-)
Welcome
Actually found myself clapping for his debut. I think I need to get a life 😂. Well done.
WOULD THIS BE A GIBSON ES 175DN
Anybody know the song @ 7:05 when he changes to middle position on the pick ups?
Oleo by Sonny Rollins!
@@grahamhouts7447 respect to sonny but I think I like how your version encompasses the whole band. Cheers!
Brandon do u assume we know what tone wood the body is made of ? I don’t...Mr Spekcheck what wood is the body
Whats the tune from 7:43 to 8:21?
The numbers refer to original list price
Very nice, Graham! Welcome aboard. I'd love to see the cutie behind the camera some day.
What wood is it made of

I very happy with my ES175. So when i see that video I think about problem with reverberation, it made sound like program, not natural
Damn that was great! But what is the name of that first tune! I know I recognize it and it is stuck on the tip of my tongue but I can't remember it for the life of me. Somebody help me out and Happy New Year!
Thanks! The first tune is Body and Soul
@@grahamhouts7447 oh thank god it was driving me crazy

More archtops and people that can play them!
It's a 175 because when it First came out I think in 1949, it was $175.
Great big fat jazz box, but it can rock if you want, too bad that aspect wasn’t demonstrated
The old Pat Metheny sound, but there is no toothbrush at the bridge
Does this mean it's goodbye Michael Lemmo 🙃
Can I have it?
We Have a New Todd...?
Birdland type ... Barney Kessel plays
good if you want to fall asleep!
personally I don't like the spoiler at the beginning
Agree, it kind of ruins it.
guitar sounded not quite right a few good jazz lines a few mistakes but cool
Kinda noisy, like it's got a loose input jack or a scratchy pot. 🤔
lovely guitar, but I hate jazz !

@Wesley alan each to their own brother. we all like different stuff otherwise what a boring world we would live in 👍

Play it with distortion wey
Aye Jazz eh, it looks better than it sounds.
