Dec. 1, 2016 removal of halo brace post skull-T2 fusion.
Removal of my halo brace. It was put on April 5, 2016 and removed December 1, 2016. Removal of the halo & pins wasn't too bad. Only 1 out of 4 pins were sore. To those that are nervous about the halo being removed, it really isn't too bad. You'll be just fine :)
I needed it because my neck was severely unstable due to a connective tissue disorder I have called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS). On April 12, 2016 I was hard fused from C3-T2 because C3/C4, C4/C5 were subluxating, C5/C6, C6/C7, C7/T1 were dislocating, and T1/T2 were subluxating. On August 30, 2016 I was hard fused from my skull-C2 for craniocervical instability, but the fusion was extended to C5 to align the hardware.
