Two years since uploading this video, I've finally decided that I need your help, hence the above links.
Why?
Well, simply put, I want to make more videos like this one for you guys! There's actually a really cool Star Wars video that my friends and I have been brainstorming pretty much since this one came out, but we still haven't found the time or resources. With your help, I'm sure it will be up on RUclips in no time!

I remember I thought Luke and Leia would be cute together as a kid I didn’t really know a lot about Star Wars just saw it on the tv sometimes but then I was hit with the siblings thing 💀
To be fair, there was a bit of shipping between her and Luke back in the day. A lot of "Will she be with Han or Luke?" stuff, before Return of the Jedi threw a fucking flashbang into the situation and revealed they were siblings because it was originally meant to be a much bigger series than just three movies, but with all the difficulties shooting the previous two movies George decided to end it at the third one.
When it came time to shoot the final movie they basically had to choose between saving Han from Jabba or finding Luke's sister, and since they went with saving Han, George kinda said "Fuck it" and made Leia his sister just to wrap it up. Honestly, I just wish Yoda never mentioned "There's another" in Empire and that Luke never, ever had a sister or any other sibling. That was literally just thrown in there only for George to go "Oh, nevermind." Probably the weirdest aspect in Star Wars and there's no real reason it should even exist. Even without the incest stuff, it's not earned or built up properly at all, just lame as hell.
So yeah, next time you ever hear someone say George planned all this out from the beginning, just remember the incest.

Tatoonie should be the capital planet of the republic/empire at this point.
Real talk though this is another reason why I've always loved Clone Wars because we actually spend time on different planets from the movies and even spend a good amount of time on them thanks to the TV-show format. You'd think with all that Disney money they'd actually have another setting for a planet that's not just a desert and canyons.

@@Neurondeactivation5496 While the movies came out with only a few years in between each installment, VHS was still in its infancy, so my guess is that it probably took a while to turn a two-hour movie into a home-use video tape -- let alone one that can be played enough over three years without burning out or degrading in some way -- and therefore it was possibly unlikely for fans of the series to remember how many times Leia kissed Luke, unless they were always going to the theater (like that one girl who made a movie-accurate cosplay of an X-Wing fighter pilot jumpsuit & helmet, back in the 70's).

@@oumardiop1 They didn't know until Luke told Leia if you whatched the prequels you'd see that Luke was sent to Owen Lars on tatooine and Leia was sent with Senator Organa the seperation was an attempt to keep them safe from the emperor which apparently worked.
I'm sorry... but at 1:12, the part where Rey looks down and sees the "Because you are cousins" sign is probably the greatest moment in this video; it actually looks like she's watching in terror as the sign floats up to her... but then she proceeds to kiss her cousin later on anyhow... that's even worse lmao

Wanna know what’s even worse? JJ NEVER wanted this in the movie at all. That whole kiss was literally edited into the movie without his approval or sign off. Thing is, Rey and Ben were actually going to talk for awhile before Ben died but it got cut from the movie.

To be fair, George Lucas was making it up as he was going along. Initially Anakin and Vader were supposed to be separate people, then he developed daddy issues between Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back so he rewrote the part to make Vader and Anakin one and the same. This is why it's written in Star Wars that Obi Wan says, "only a master of evil, Darth" as if Darth was his first name and not a sith title. Roll on Return of the Jedi and he suddenly gets this idea to make Leia Luke's sister and there's none of the smoochy stuff happening between them in this movie which shows his change in direction from the previous films.
Atleast the ani/vader twist was done well because even from the start they were already hinting at a deeper relationship between vader and ani. This twist meanwhile only came due to the chemistry between ford and carrie being too good in ESB, so something needs to be done so that leia can be with han without basically cucking Luke

The second they began to transition from Rey to Palpatine talking about Darth Plagueis I started laughing out loud because at that point I knew exactly where this was going, and then when it cut to Shmi talking about Anakin I was crying laughing 😂🤣 Also the fact that Padme is shown by the picture of her crying during childbirth is priceless
I like how people are trying to equate this to real life scenarios, meanwhile George Lucas just decided to make them siblings in the final movie and forgot he had created some kind of love triangle between Lea and Han/Luke.
He wrote the entire trilogy before filming anything.

As creepy as it is, there's actually an element of realism to this. There have been recorded cases of siblings separated during childhood eventually meeting each other and forming romantic relationships in real life. When siblings grow up together, a certain reverse psychological imprinting takes places to prevent romantic attraction and minimize the occurrence of incest but when family members are separated during formative years this doesn't occur and people can get confused and misinterpret their own feelings. So the lesson here is, try to keep your family together.

The fact that Rey was never actually intended to be related to Kylo, and was originally supposed to be some nobody that happened to be force sensitive was a very conscious and aware decision by Disney to retcon her entire backstory in favour of throwing in a bit of incest
Rey isn't related to Kylo. Palpatine isn't Anakin's father. Matt Martin, who worked on the comic that people think says that, has come out multiple times saying that's not what the comic means.

To be fair, the incest in the OG trilogy was unknowingly done, and there is a weird phenomenon where genetic family, when separated at early ages, are reunited later in life find each other attractive, either through similar behavior patterns, or because of similarities in genetic features. Essentially natural narcissism makes you want to bone your siblings if you don't know they are your siblings. Obviously every (I would hope it's every) time the two find out they were related all along, there's mutual feelings of disgust because our logical brains recognize that incest babies are gross. Oedipus gouged out his own eyes BTW, Sigmund Freud glossed over that.

I was born in 1980 so I'm old enough to have watched the movies in the correct order at a time where I was still young enough to think there was a chance for Luke and nobody had told me because I'm watching this on television all by myself in the room.
Getting to be about 8 or 9 years old and the realization suddenly dawning upon me... Wait what? I thought they were supposed to be together? What's this crap!
