This would have made that film much better. It would have made Palatines death in ROTJ more impactful as well.

It actually makes sense because Darth Plagueis knows how to transfer his soul into another body and used this technique to avoid death.

Yeah. Also, Palpatine's Return was a bad idea because normally, Anakin brought balance to the force by killing Darth Sidious, but when Palpatine returned, it became meaningless.

I completely agree. The fact that they disregard the previous six movies and the whole idea of Anakin and the prophecy? pissed me off. In revenge of the Sith George Lucas literally planted the seed for Darth Plagueis, I can’t believe they didn’t even build off that a little bit?

Yeah, absolutely. They only mentioned Plagueis in Revenge of the Sith by telling us "the tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise" and nothing else. Also, a powerful Sith lord being killed by his apprentice while sleeping and not being able to revive himself doesn't really make any sense, right?

To be honest, some even thought it would be Tenebrae from the old republic, considering Tenebrae was "immortal" and lived for about 1500 years, it would have been a nice plot twist.

Altho plagueis makes more sense then palpatine it would still ruin the movie as palpatine clearly killed him and if he truly was somehow still alive plagueis is still a sith and wouldnt wait from the end of ep1 to ep9 to make any sort of move to reveal himself and probably wouldnt be stupid enough to leave wayfinders to his location

Snoke was originally intended to be plagueis but they changed it when people started figuring it out.
