Josh what are you thoughts on having an Objective section? Do you think its necessary to add this in or not? I've always heard mixed preference on this section.
So used this resume template for myself and my wife. She got a call back the next day and is getting hired on and me I'm starting as IT Specialist. I did your active directory project and followed your framework and tweaked a lot of things and did the github. I think it helped. Thanks! WGU IT degree and certs helped but personality and soft skills go a long way as you already know. I'm not sure about cyber but I love networking. Your cyber course I might just do to get knowledge.! Keep it up.
I'm not the type of person to comment on youtube videos but you deserve a thank you from me. I used the resume format and did projects that interested me: Walk through of analyzing phishing emails, Configuring Elastic or ELK stack as a SIEM, and Wazuh setup and installation to do compliance. I just accepted an internship position in a SOC(only 3 positions offered and there were hundreds of applicants), I got the offer because I was able to convey a passion for cybersecurity through my resume and the projects I had completed. Thank you!

@@JoshMadakor Hey Josh, another informative video there! What's your take on using Google docs to make a resume? Can an applicant be penalized for not using Microsoft Word?
One thing I did in particular instead of a projects section on my resume (since it can't fit on one page), is I use LinkedIn to showcase them and apply using LinkedIn, just thought this may be worth mentioning since it can be easy to run out of space if you've done more than two jobs.
Thank you for putting this video out. I've found the way you describe cyber related activities from resumes to home labs videos easy to follow, educational, and relatable.

When it comes to cyber security résumé, are you saying if I was to use your résumé template I can apply to any cyber security domain like identity, access, management, security operation Center analyst, or even a network operations center?!?!?
This answer requires some nuance. But you can generally get away with working in entry-level IAM, security operations, and GRC with general cybersecurity knowledge. That being the case, it's still good to tailor your resume to certain jobs. But yeah, entry-level NOC as well, you can get away with basic cyber knowledge
