- Be More Chill Joe Iconis and Joe Tracz’s musical, based on the cult teen novel by Ned Vizzini starts playing at Off-Broadway's Signature Theatre July 26th. This coming-of-age musical tells the story of Jeremy Heere, an average teenager who, tempted by the prospect of popularity, takes a pill purported to make people more…chill. The cast, creative team, producers all gathered together to meet the press.

I think that Will Connollys version is a little more smooth but anxious and voice crackly, but Will Roland's is more panicky and kind of sarcastic but I love both and this is such a pure gem

My brain: Wow, Will Roland really took a different approach to playing Jeremy. You can practically *feel* the anxiety welling up in him, and his facial expressions are great. Not to mention he went through the effort of giving Jeremy all these nervous ticks, and he seems to be putting a lot of effort into this character and I really admire him as an actor.

A lot of people were people were angry that Will Connolly was not going to be playing Jeremy, and I was too. But after seeing this I think that Will Roland is going to make an amazing Jeremy. I’m not going to be able to actually watch the show, but I think it’s going to be amazing.

Okay, Will R is KILLING IT as Jeremy, Katlyn is just doing amazing, so is Lauren, and the new Jake and Jenna look pretty great so far. Also Stephanie is the cutest thing??? Also, Will R’s “I’m never gonna be the cool guy” Part was AMAZING! I don’t think he’s better than Will C OVERALL, but he was definitely better at that part. Overall everyone is doing amazing and I can’t wait to see it open off broadway. Also, “what’s wrong?” “I hate this school. OH and I wrote Christine a note...” That was the best thing. Also, the way Britton handed Will R the pen was great and I loved the little high five thing between Gerard and Britton was a nice detail

I dont understand why people are mad that Roland is playing Jeremy. I think he deserves this role. He has so much unused talent!
Yeah, I can never understand why people are so against change. We still have some of the original cast, a few new (but familiar) faces aren’t gonna ruin it. Roland and Connolly are both EXTREMELY talented. Besides, Roland being Jeremy freshens things up a bit. We get to see/hear a new take on Jeremy! That’s the fun part of theater: breathing life into a character while also making it your own. There will be things you like better from Connolly’s interpretation, there will be things you might like better from Roland’s interpretation. My point: be open people, at least give him a chance.
I think a lot of people are mad because they preferred Connolly over Roland. I, myself, do also. But I was more upset than mad to hear that Roland replaced Connolly. But I’ve adjusted as well as most I can say is that Connolly will forever be original Jeremy in my eyes.

Okay so I’m crying and I have the chills lmao. Will’s pitch change when he sings hero is absolutely perfect and I’m so happy he added that. Now, I wasn’t sure how I was gonna feel about the switch from Will Connolly to Will Roland but I’m so pleased with it and his voice is amazing. I’m so happy he was able to get a lead role that can show off his voice more than the role of Jared did. Anyway, I wish I could see this masterpiece live but I’m prepared for when it hits broadway because I’m sure it will. Also the changes are amazing and I’m even more in love with this musical than I was before (which is hard to believe) amazing work, Joe and the cast !

I think Will c and Will r are both amazing as Jeremy. They both have something amazing to bring to the character. Will C had the perfect voice (so perfect when I started listening to bmc I thought he was an actual teenager) and appearance for the role . Will R gives more emotion and anxiety to Jeremy which is awesome! Though If I have to chose who's better it would probably be Will C. Though I can't wait to see what else Will R does with the role
Also, It's probably weird for Gorge Salazar because last time he was doing this was with Will C.

ah yes "Jared Kleinmans morning routine" a new song released by DEH. Finally some character depth for Jared. Also Wills voice from 5:05 to 5:33 made me almost cry. gAH hes such a great Jeremy! he adds a new form of emotion to certain parts of the song which brings a new feel to the whole thing and did I mention that I think its AMAZING.

Yeah. New cast members aren't suppose to be exactly alike. They all have their own little twists on how they play the character. I, for one, love Will Roland's portrayal.
