Cole is such a lost and broken soul after that tragedy happened. His life changed on the arrival of Jackie who is the youngest daughter of his mom’s best friend. Jackie seems to be the only person whom Cole opened up of his true feelings especially the tragedy. Jackie taught him about stability and calmness. Jackie was his purpose, person, and soulmate.
After both Cole and Jackie's tragedies happened. That's when the love story of Cole and Jackie have started. Two souls who are both broken on the inside due to their tragedies. Cole was the best quarterback on his high school football team and got a football scholarship until his leg injury that ended his playing career tragically. Jackie, on the other hand, had an amazing life with her family of her two loving parents and one older sister until a tragic accident that have taken away her beloved family tragically. Cole's parents take Jackie in as their own when Jackie moves to Colorado. Cole and Jackie's moms were best friends. Ever since Cole's tragedy, he ends up doing unimaginable things such as failing all the classes, hooking up with girls, drinking, and having a bad attitude. Cole and Jackie were introduced to each other when Will (Cole's oldest brother) introduced her to the rest of the Walter family. That's when a spark between Cole and Jackie has started. Cole calls Jackie "New York" like all the time and may have played a few jokes/pranks on Jackie which upsets her. Over time, Cole and Jackie spend time with each other and got to know one another. They had a lot of deep and honest conversations even when half of it has to do with the tragedies that they've been through before they met. The bond and connection they've grown slowly and strong. Meaning that Cole and Jackie are slowly falling in love with each other through days and time. Cole and Jackie have strong eye contact when they can't literally take their eyes off of each other especially and mostly Cole. When Jackie experience something that upsets her and she says replies "I'm fine", Cole immediately knew that something is wrong. Like he can literally sense and read her emotions through her eyes and facial expressions. Cole and Jackie are literally trying and helping each other to pick up the pieces of their broken souls. They taught each other some life things like Cole taught Jackie to live a little and loosen up a bit while Jackie taught Cole calmness and stability. When Cole's younger sister accidentally dropped Lucy's (Jackie's older sister) teapot into the kitchen sink, Cole picks up the pieces and fixes the teapot. Danny (Cole's twin brother) saw this and said it was sweet of him and encouraged him to do so. Despite the arguments that Cole and Jackie have, that doesn't mean they don't stop caring about each other. Jackie found the fixed teapot in a box with the note of what of her mom used to say before she died and she immediately realized that it was Cole who fixed the teapot since she told Cole the words her mom used to say. Jackie finds Cole in a barn where he is fixing a truck and confronts him. Jackie went close to Cole and kissed him. When Jackie tried to leave, Cole immediately stopped her and gently pushed her to the pole and they started kissing over and over with their hands on each other's necks. Cole stopped for a while until Jackie pulled Cole really close to her to kiss more. Their kiss is very intense, deep, intimate, and passionate. HANDS DOWN THE BEST KISSING SCENE ON THE SHOW!!!!! What Cole and Jackie have is very pure and natural, not forced. Cole and Jackie are literally each other's soulmates/person! Like THEY NEED EACH OTHER!!!!!

Cole reminds me a lot of Nathan Scott from One Tree Hill, accept his Dad was a dick. He couldn't play basketball after his accident and end up in a wheelchair for a while. He also had bad grades. I was hoping Jackie would tutor him. Maybe she'll help him in season 2.
