Hello Dr Lee!! May I start out by saying you are looking fantastic these days. I hope you and the family are well. I have to ask, how many hours did it take you to find all those blazer pics? lol. I am super excited to see what color you have chosen for yours. I love the teal/white color. I could also use some prayers. I just got out of the hospital today. Spent a week in there. Apparently with Diabetic Ketoacidosis. I don't know much about it but I know I was beyond sick and wouldn't wish it on anyone. Horrible. I am not 100% yet, to be honest I am not even back to 40% but they did all they could do for me in there. Also my potassium was so low that in the week I was in there they gave me 15 bags of it via IV. And when they sent me home it was still just at the lowest it could be 3.5 So prayers would be greatly appreciated. It was great to see you post a video. I always enjoy them. Love you bunches!! Your friend Becky.
Oh gosh, Becky! I'm sad to hear you've been so sick.... Gotta watch that A1c and glucose curves closely for a while, honey! We will surely be praying for you!
@beccac6451 I have been through the Ketoacidosis hospital thing like 3 times and the bags of potassium hurt when they put them in your veins. Last hospital stay I got 4 bags and they had to change injection points 3 times cause it felt like my arms were gonna melt off so hot feeling. I understand your pain and also would never wish that on anyone. God Bless and get better stay positive It makes it a lot easier to keep up the fight!!!!
@@OutontheRanchwithDrLee-xb4lo It was a rough couple weeks for sure. @@kylebowersox3754 Thank you Kyle, I am sorry to hear you have had to deal with this as well. It's horrible. I will tell you a way to handle the potassuim IV's. I know how bad they burn. When I had gotten then in the past they would have me in tears. But i had a nurse this time that did it a different way and I did not feel any burning!! If you have to have another one,. Tell them they have to run it on the slowest drip possible and run the IV fluids on the fasted drip and I promise you if they do that, you will not feel anything. Also those heat pack help too. But if they run the pot slow and the fluid fast it doesn't burn. I had 15 bags this past week and only 1 started to burn when the nurse had to sped up to fast. As soon as I told her to lower the drip of the pot and put the IV fluid on fast the burning went away. :) Take care and prayers you won't need to have anymore done to you.
Hey Dr Lee great video the Blazer is looking good. It’s unfortunate that someone messed up the radio opening but at least they left enough there for you to work with. That’s going to be a nice truck when it’s done. That’s a cool generation. You are right just because something is from Texas doesn’t mean it’s not rust free. 🤣 keep up the good work and I can’t wait to see what you do next to it!
Thanks Mitch! Pretty excited to get on to the fun parts....Surely wish I'd had your expertise and experience in rebuilding that dang cowl; I'm glad that's behind me now!

Excellent work. I have spent the last three years rebuilding my basket case high school car. All the welding is definitely hot and tedious work. Make sure you get a couple of element fire extinguishers for the shop as they will put out a fire without ruining your project.

I envy you, Dr. Lee! You are working on a labor of love. Never owned a "VINTAGE", vintage Blazer, but did have quite a love affair with both an 1985 and much later on 1986 Blazer. To this day, both are dearly missed.
It’s great seeing you again. Looks like you made it through the holidays! Hope your new year is going well? Wow, so much work for such a small but significant part of the vehicle. Really looking forward to the finished product! Take care, Dr. Lee!❤

I am really glad you never gave up on getting the blazer, even though it took years to get it, and now are working on it. Looking forward to seeing it when it is completed.
Hey Dr. Lee, GM body structure engineer here. Just want to let you know if you really want to be a "purist", the A-pillar starts at the bottom corner of the windshield, running up to the roof (or where a roof would be, in this case). From the base of the A-pillar down to the rocker panel is referred to as the "front body hinge pillar".
Thanks for the correction! I appreciate it! 👍 I bet you had to just shake your head watching me crudely cobble this poor old dog back together again! lol
@@OutontheRanchwithDrLee-xb4lo Gotcha, they had to pick one name for that piece of metal, which spans both sides of the intermediate joint (plenum, A-pillar, FBHP joint). They made a one-piece part for the FBHP inner and A-pillar inner, which is a cost and assembly saving when it can be done. Now you have some more terms used on the "inside" during the design process! Wait until you run into some of what we called the food-and-animal nicknames we used during design. Pork chop, banana brace, pizza box, dog-leg and bird-beak come to mind instantly, and the "farmer's gate" which isn't really in either category. Glad the adhesive worked out well!
@@OutontheRanchwithDrLee-xb4lo Oh, BTW, I'm not shaking my head at all. When things didn't go to plan in testing of prototypes, we had to fabricate and patch in updated parts to built bodies. A lot of what we did looked very much like your process, and of course nothing like how the plant will do it in production. We had to be careful though, MIG plug welds can be much stronger than resistance spot welds, and for safety strength tests, you can generate a "false pass" situation. So critical areas had to at least structurally represent the intended plant process.
In my line of work we too used many food terms.... mostly for descriptive, gourmet pathology.... like tapioca pus, cherry eye, ground beef rash, peanut butter poop, coffee ground vomit, and port wine urine.... what is it about food???? @@hondolane3125
Doc, I've never been much of a vehicle restorer or had much interest in it. The damned truth be told, after watching this, I still don't. Having said that, I think you're a good man Doc. Therefore, I'll keep watching and pushing the "Like" button as you bring that Blazer back to life. I'm the kind of guy who likes to buy and drive something that has already been restored.🤣🤣🤣🤣
Dr Lee the work you're doing looks incredibly good. The way a true body man does it. The labor of your hands is definitely showing. Keep up the good work
I love that you are determined to get it done right the first time. I enjoyed the explanation of all the work you have done but must say better you than me.
My dad was a welder and he often said, "If you don't have time to do it right the first time, when you gonna find time to do it right the second time." 😂
*Doc* - if I didn't know any better, I'd swear you're kinda partial to those Blazer thingies. 🙂 Good to see you in good spirits and motivated, my friend. Good call on the POR-15, too. Be safe, have fun - Ed on the Ridge
Hello! You are doing a fantastic job on your Blazer. My question is, what color are you going to paint the blazer when it is finished? I am anxiously waiting for that part of the build to come about. I enjoy watching someone restoring a vehicle.
Dr. Carriker, if it's worth doin' it's worth overdoin'. BTW, that was a skillful cliffhanger you dropped on us. I eagerly await further developments. Greetings from the piedmont of Georgia.
I love seeing the progress on the K-10, it's definitely a bucket list vehicle for me. It combines both the body style with the body configuration I dream about owning some day! And then you went and added the thirst trap photos! Man, talk about laying it on thicc! 🤣🥰
Looking good there Dr Lee. I was wondering where you were just a few days ago and then I remembered this project. You may get a chuckle out of this one, my husband simply put, is close to the world's worst welder. We have a great friend that welded all his life as his profession. So my husband got him to teach me to weld, well let's just say I'm better than my husband. However when it comes to spot welding, I'm actually pretty darn good. And I have no answer for that! I'm just glad that we are basically done with our rebuilds, my hands are not that steady anymore! Lol! Looking forward to the next one. Always a pleasure, God Bless Side note: how are the dogs doing from the rocky raccoon experience?
Dang Stacy! I shudda had YOU come do all this welding....even yer hubby is probably better welder than me! And the Pupperinos are all doing great....crazy and troublesome, and no more raccoons lately!!
Complete transparency I don’t know a ford from a Chevy but I sure do adore you Dr.Lee and just love watching your videos . Still think you need a podcast 😊😊. I mean seriously I don’t know anything about welding and I watched your entire video . 🤣🤣🤣 thanks for being you . Ok, I do know the difference between a Chevy and ford kind of ❤😂

Have a Wonderful Evening and Thanks for the update.
Another good video Dr Lee. You're kinda getting into the bowels of that old Chevy. And yes, I know you've spent lots and lots of hours. Great work, and thanks for sharing. Barry
Well, Happy 2024 Lee! Looks like you’ve been keeping yourself busy. I knew I hadn’t been seeing you on any of Matt’s videos. Hope you and the family had a wonderful holiday season. The Guzzler is looking great. I suspect the kid you bought it from will wish he had it back by the time you finish it! You definitely do have the patience to tackle such a project. Hope the pups are enjoying being pups again. Are you looking forward to the big eclipse in a few months? I’m sure your town will be overrun with tourist trying to get the full experience. Luckily, we are in the path of the total eclipse too. I’m looking forward to it. Good to see you back on my phone again. Take care, and just keep plugging away!
Thanks Connie! Yeah, that eclipse is gonna be something! We're expecting a lot of folks here, so there'll be the "run" on grocery stores and crowded restaurants....I plan on enjoying that week in the shop or on the tractor! Great to hear from you; I hope you're gang is all well and happy!!!

I guess this is where I got that description: see part #8 www.lmctruck.com/1967-72-chevy-gmc/body-panels/cb-1969-72-steel-repair-panels
Talk about a tedious task. I can see why you are happy to be done with that part. Excited to see where you plan on taking this project.
Great to see you with another video. The Blazer is coming along and you are doing a mighty fine job.
Thanks Les! How's the C-10 doing?
Looking good Dr. Lee I know you are glad to be done with that task.
Yep Roger, it wasn't an expected issue, but wasn't a total surprise either... and yep, I'm super glad to be done with it!
Great job!! Looking forward to the next steps!!! Enjoy your adventures in reconstruction!!
We had a S-10 Blazer in '85 and loved it. We just bought a '24 Blazer and love it!!!! Great job you are doing on yours!
what a nice job keep up the good work !
Good music! Love that song! The old blazers is coming Right along!
Dr Lee the work you're doing looks incredibly good. The way a true body man does it. The labor of your hands is definitely showing. Keep up the good work
I love that you are determined to get it done right the first time. I enjoyed the explanation of all the work you have done but must say better you than me.
My dad was a welder and he often said, "If you don't have time to do it right the first time, when you gonna find time to do it right the second time." 😂
Glad to see some more blazer content, glad you have had some time for it. I can't believe you left us with a cliff hanger!
50+ years later, I'm still driving my 72 C10 long bed. She has a beautiful patina on her medium olive paint.
Best color on the planet!!!!!
Been missing an update on your old friend! Thank you! What a beautiful job on the radio acess! 👍👍
*Doc* - if I didn't know any better, I'd swear you're kinda partial to those Blazer thingies. 🙂
Good to see you in good spirits and motivated, my friend. Good call on the POR-15, too.
Be safe, have fun - Ed on the Ridge
Thanks Ed..... I'd much rather it be a 1950's Power Wagon, but there aren't many around anymore....
@@OutontheRanchwithDrLee-xb4lo Careful what you ask for. 🙂 - Ed

Hey Dr Lee,thanks for the shots of different Beauties 🎉.
Nicely Done 👍.
JO JO IN VT 💞
Lovely to see you, Dr Lee! Sending love from rainy and chilly London xxxxx
Hello! You are doing a fantastic job on your Blazer. My question is, what color are you going to paint the blazer when it is finished? I am anxiously waiting for that part of the build to come about. I enjoy watching someone restoring a vehicle.
The color is still undetermined...
Beautiful!❤ can't wait to see the next step! Looks like it is very rewarding!❤
I'm always glad to see a new video from you, Dr. Lee.
Dr. Carriker, if it's worth doin' it's worth overdoin'. BTW, that was a skillful cliffhanger you dropped on us. I eagerly await further developments. Greetings from the piedmont of Georgia.
Now I know where Matt gets his flare from! Bless you much.😀😀
I love seeing the progress on the K-10, it's definitely a bucket list vehicle for me. It combines both the body style with the body configuration I dream about owning some day! And then you went and added the thirst trap photos! Man, talk about laying it on thicc! 🤣🥰
Yep, those are some sweet rides for sure!
I had wondered what was happening with this project. Thanks for the update.
Looking good, Dr. Lee! I look forward to seeing you in the driver's seat one day.
Good morning, Dr. Lee! Have a great Thursday. ❤️☕
Awesome video Doc. It's great to see you again, it's also kool to see that you're staying outta trouble. 😍
Always a pleasure, God Bless
Side note: how are the dogs doing from the rocky raccoon experience?
Dang Stacy! I shudda had YOU come do all this welding....even yer hubby is probably better welder than me! And the Pupperinos are all doing great....crazy and troublesome, and no more raccoons lately!!
@OutontheRanchwithDrLee-xb4lo I'm sure that you are better than that! I'm glad to hear that the fury kids are their crazy selves.
Getting my dads 75 k5 blazer in a few weeks. This definitely makes me excited to get it. Cant wait to see the next video sir!
Ok, I do know the difference between a Chevy and ford kind of ❤😂
LOL!!! You're funny Tracy!!!
God Bless you and your Family Dr. Lee have fun with the Blazer. Don't let Matt get his hands on it!!!! It will never need 5 ton axles LOL
Beautiful work Doc.. Working to finish up my wife's dad's 69 C-20.. The rust was strong with this one.🤣
Excellent Work Brother !!! Be proud of that Dr. Lee, those skill sets do not occupy too many craniums and come in greatly varying degree of expertise. It's been a wet winter here in AZ, my hope is you guys are getting caught up on the moisture levels in Texas, I've seen the river is flowing on Matt's channel. Have a Wonderful Evening and Thanks for the update.
We've had a lot of rain, but not enough to completely restore the aquifers yet. Glad y'all are enjoying the rains too, Chet!
Oh gosh, I love the bottle opener on the dash, hahaha!
Probably a great time to get rocking on this project before it gets too warm over there ;D
Yep.... the bottle opener is going back on after the dash is cleaned up! LOL
@@OutontheRanchwithDrLee-xb4lo 😂 maybe I need one on our side by side, I didnt know that was a thing!
Well Suzanne.... is IS Texas, ya know! Gotta keep Lone Star Beer breweries busy! @@This1LifeWeLive
@@OutontheRanchwithDrLee-xb4lo hey, do still have an active PO box to get RUclips mail at??
Another good video Dr Lee. You're kinda getting into the bowels of that old Chevy. And yes, I know you've spent lots and lots of hours.
Great work, and thanks for sharing. Barry
Thanks, Barry!
The blazer is coming along love watching your content.
Your an OG Dr. Lee. 👍 up for me. Oh course i have no ideo what you just said except stereo, brakes, & the side vents....? 😂😂😂😂😂 but your doing great on the old girl.
Chris from Missouri
I would love to see more of your progress in the Blazer. I have the same project but not making too much progress like yours.
Good luck and keep on k5 blazer.
Great job Dr Lee ✌️🙏👍
So great to see another video!!
I don't know a thing about cars or renovating them, but I sure do like to watch you explain it to me.
Those blazers were the best looking of them all...
Another great update and I understood you this time in terms of it NOT being a "cow" panel. 🤣🤣🤣
LOL!!!
Looks good 👍, can’t wait to see more
Wow! Looks like your whole family works very hard! Matt has many trades! This video was very informative! May God bless your wonderful Family!
Thanks, Buck!
I've never been a Bronco guy but she's coming along nice.
I can’t wait to see next episode 😀
Good afternoon Dr Lee. Hope all is well with the family. I told you last month that I have been going through tests to see if I have Addisons Disease. Well the Dr has now decided that since my blood tests are almost below normal I now have to go see an Endocrinologist in a couple weeks. I have been trying to stay busy going every day to our Humane Society to spend time with dogs to try to get them ready for their family. Love to you and Pat. Please continue to keep me in your prayers as I await my dr visit to see if I truly have Addisions Disease. I along have a severe case of RA.
We will certainly keep you in our prayers, Rhonda! We gotta get you well, I think I owe you a taco!!!
@@OutontheRanchwithDrLee-xb4lo Yes you definitely owe me a taco and tea. We really want to come down and just have a great visit with you and possibly Pat. I feel like I know you as a great friend since I have been following you since Day 1. Thank you for your prayers and kindness.
