Toni's voice is very distinct and unique. So to me, she's the best out of the bunch.
Me, too. She just has that "it" factor, even is she is technically not the best singer. Her voice and tone are just great to me.

Her vocals were recorded in a more traditional R&B style where the others were stacking their vocals in a more pop style.
Toni's tone has always been special to me but something about hearing next to three other voices makes it stand out even more. It's magical.

The braxtons by a mile. Solange shouldn't even be in this video. Its basically a contest between Beyonce and the Braxtons. In terms of range Tamar and B are similar, but those braxtons have something called TONE! man, when toni sings, its not even about what note she's hitting, she just gives you everything with that sultry, sexy velvet voice. Their voices have more character than Beyonce's.

This is fair. I do prefer Toni because of her tone alone. I just prefer more brash vocals like the Chaka Khans, the Nina Simones and the Laylah Hathaways of the world. Just my preference. Tamar runs and screams too much for my liking. She's shrill. Solange has a nice voice but not the power behind it. Beyonce has range and power, but I never liked her runs; sometimes her voice is too whiny for me.

Tbh, The Braxton's All The Waaaay!!! Especially Ms.Toni cause of course it's amazing to listen to all those high notes, but I personally find that I cannot listen to that all the damn time! Toni Braxton knows exactly how to manage that in her songs and performances etc, Yes Beyoncé's ability to do all those tricks with her voice is amazing, but Toni has that sultryness to her voice that basically No one has! Honestly, I do not know Tamar Braxton not until I saw this video. I grew up listening to Toni Braxton's music and also Destiny's Child's and I love Beyoncé but I honestly like Toni's voice the best because of its rich, dark, low and very soulful voice and when Toni hits high notes, it does not hurt my ears but when I heard Tamara, OMG! She is a great powerhouse vocalist like Toni! They will give the Knowles sisters a hard time beating them vocally speaking.

Solange is the QUEEN of that head voice/falsetto, she be SLAYIN up there. I love Solange's voice overall too. Beyonce is great overall. I love Tamar's upper register, and her melisma. I love everything about toni, head voice, belting, grunts, lower register. I don't know which team I prefer necessarily.

The Knowles is booty poppin, club hoppin get up and dance. Braxton's is for the grown and sexy. Knowles less substance, more for 25 and under, or the young of heart.

vocally Beyonce and Tamar have the widest ranges out of all of them Beyonce and Toni have the best tone solange has great control over her head voice notes. Tamar has a bright chest range Toni of course is one of the queens of tone put her against brandy then you have yourself a challenge two beast contraltos against each other.....But nobody won this for me because you have different voice types....lyric soprano, coloratura mezzo soprano, contralto i think u should focus on one voice type and then challenge i love the knowles i adore the braxtons but as a vocal coach nobody won this for me people are saying toni juat because of her tone and experience but u have to factor in much more than just tone...there's range, tone, flexibility and versatility, resonance, power alot of other stuff and B and Toni both hold those attributes...So its a draw for me....(solange voice lacks power at times, and tamar lacks tone alot of times live)
Brandy can't touch Toni with the worlds tallest tower in her hand . Anyone who knows music knows that . I'm not much of a Beyoncé fan to begin with , everyone is so hyped over her for what . I honestly rather Tamar over Beyoncé , but Tamar lacks emotion when she sings . Toni looks better than all them , she's more sexier , and toni is definitely a legend , and underrated . I do agree they have more range but Toni is no one to sleep on , she still out there killing it !

UM live vocal range for Tamar is c#3-c#6. Pretty sure it's A2-C6 for Toni though. Also Brandy isn't a contralto.
Yes ik I was referring back to when she didn't use her upper registers that much, back then most would classify her as contralto because of her rich text dark texture, and no Tamar's live vocal range is from C#3- C7 her highest whistle tone is D7 when I say widest vocal range I'm referring to their entire voice range

Love Tamar's C#5s at 3:35 and her "White Candle" belts. The likeness of tone between Toni and Tamar is uncanny and Toni went IN on those D5s in Unbreak My Heart. Solange's sound is the most unique but I find her tone hit and miss at times - sometimes it can be jarring, like on "Could've Been the One", but I still love that song.
Tamar took it on E5 - LOVE her belts in "All the Way Home" - with Toni in close second. Bey ensured a victory on F5 but Solange let the team down there.

+Morgan Victoria I know what I heard so its pointless.. I have been a fan of the Braxton for years so I know what they are all capable of. Tamar can sing but there is nothing special about her voice, especially when you come from an era of Whitney, Celine, Mariah, Toni etc.. In 90s Toni was giving us a lot of Whitney and singing high, now she stick mostly to her lower range which is also great. It okay to have your favorite, but in that Braxton family Toni is doing things with her voice that none can come near not to mention when you feel every words she sing. With that being said Tamar has a great voice but something is missing now, she was really singing great before her pregnancy but it is not the same now and more notable live, I don't know what happened... Traci is another one if she continues to get lessons she will be awesome. Trina and Towanda can also sing but I don't think that's what they want. Everyone when have their favs, but for me is more than range.... ijs

Some of the most creative videos here. While I think Beyonce is the strongest overall as a vocalist, I think Team Braxton is stronger here. I love Solange's everything, but I do think she doesn't take herself as seriously as a vocalist as the other three. I do think she is good, but the other three are at a different level, with Tamar being closer to Toni than Solange is to Bey.
