With kate walker i experienced the most amazing journey of my life and after the first part of Siberia it was engraved in my memory for the rest of my life 🥺 The university town of Barrockstadt was the first location where the spring-wound train stopped. I was 16 at the time and I began to wonder if such a town existed and how I could get there. Professor Cornelius Pons and his lecture about the Yukol tribe was an unforgettable experience, and I became a prisoner of Siberia.
This is such a beautiful game unlike today’s violence oriented games. I don’t know why game studios or the developers don't try to make such amazing games. Thank you for this excellent game movie. ❤
Watched the whole 6 hours from start to finish. Must say these games have a really good way of telling the story! And your playthrough is just the right pace for me to understand what's going on without having to pause or slow down the video. I like that you take the time to read through all the lore when most people would just skip them.

Haha. They have a good way of telling the story when you don't to have to play the game yourself. If you played for the first time, no guide, you would be constantly stuck, walking for ages between scenes.

One of the things that surprises me most in this game, and I'm just one hour of this gameplay into it (even though it took me a lot longer playing by myself to reach the same point), is the voice acting. I'm not even talking from a technical standpoind (which even if I wanted, I don't have any competence to do so), but by a feeling standpoint: it feels real, like some little "musicalities" in the way words are said, depending on the type of interaction. The most notable ones that I recall right now are when Kate talks with her boyfriend and her mum: she becomes sweet; and in this case I'm talking exactly, that's just how a person that is feeling sweet talks to the one making her feel so. However you've done that, willingly or "by chance" (of course it never is by chance, but at the very least by merit of an intuition of the voice actor), I think this goes to show the brilliancy behind this project: the people working on it, were also believing in it.
There is no better game than this, because it is my first game I have played when I was small. Wish there was more with same graphics and feelings like Syberia 1 and 2. Syberia 3 didnt have this kind of vibe...
Great and interesting game. I like the self-discovery and opening up to people themes. Living in a semi-futuristic world where people insist on calling robots who do manual labor automatons is an interesting commentary about the fact that being open-minded is an obligation, and not just for when it suits someone. One downside of this game though: My computer can't handle any game that was created before 2006, with the exception of "Insaniquarium Deluxe". Someone should really do a remastered version of this game, as well as parts 2 and 3.
I know I’m replying to your comment months later, but I just wanted to let you know that Syberia 1 and 2 are out on the Switch! That’s how I’m playing them right now. It’s a little bit clunky sometimes using a controller, but otherwise a great port!
I just bought both games on Switch they're on "sale". I still plan on buying it for DS if I could ever find it online or in the wild. I love games like this. Game tip just skim read. You can always tell what's super important and if anything just go back and read it again 😊.

Very neat adventure game, pretty decent story and a unique atmosphere but it felt like a chore to play once you reach Komkolzgrad. Some of the puzzles don't make sense and are just useless padding, like the one to ring the bell for Helena's automaton. Still wanna try part 2 though eventually.
Since Syberia 2 and 3 failed as games, maybe they should make a movie extension of Syberia 2, and please ask Keira Knightley or Jessica Biel to play Kate.

3 is easily the worst of all the Syberia games. Don't know if I would recommend it but it was still fun for me as a point and click lover. Also, for the sake of "completion" of the whole series.

I got all the way to the airship and didn't get blood sample done from the guy fast enough. Now, he disappeared and I have to start game over again. This is the second time I had to do that. The last time was Oscar's legs.
Idk about the blood but with oscars legs you can just collect them and make new ones.. But if that's case you should save often so you won't have to start from the beginning lol
In my version of the game, the hot spots with which you can interact (i.e. objects, doors, etc.) are all shown on the respective screen from the start. This takes away some of the challenge. Can you hide them?
Basically the games uses a technic of 3D pre-rendered scenarios with fixed angles, which are basically just pictures placed to give an appearance of a realistic but fake 3D (similar to the first three Resident Evil games). Therefore, only the characters and certain objects are 3D models with actual textures.
Unfortunately, both the Steam and GOG versions of this game are broken and unplayable without going through numerous complicated steps, which I'm not willing to deal with. So, this is the only way I can "play" the game.

The guy disappears after you start raising the capsule thingy, because he climbs inside of it. Lower it down, and the guy will be there again.
