It would honestly be such a fun easter egg if Kari ended up working for the special unit that deals with Supers. She obviously has some great instincts and I feel like in a couple years she should be recruited by the people whose memory did not get wiped. Extra points for the fact that Kari has literally no idea why she was chosen for the special unit to begin with since she doesn't remember a thing.
That'd be an amazing spin off to see. Just, Kari taken to some weird black place, and being told she's part of the team to deal with supers' powers going out of control. And all the while wondering why she's part of this

Considering the second movie had Jack-Jack needing a babysitter... Not having her as the babysitter was a missed opportunity. Speaking of missed opportunities, the deleted beginning of the movie being Laserbeam's funeral would have been SO good.
@@MillyKKitty , It's even worst when you consider that the 2nd film had a deleted scene when we saw what happened to her, although I couldn't tell if this was before or after her memories get erased.
As someone who has a friend that would regularly babysit as a side job until a few years ago, 10:12 is a perfect example of a babysitter coming prepared. Like it or not, there will be a time when a kid you're taking care of either vomits on you or you spill something on yourself and need to change. Really makes me appreciate the thought put behind Kari's character.
now I'm just imagining Kari McKeen being the only person that Jack Jack can't defeat because of her intricate knowledge of all his powers and extremely quick reactions to them
Lasers travel at a speed of 299,792,458 meters a second meaning Kari would have to be faster than that to react to Jack Jack's laser attack, so all those times Kari shouldnt have been quick enough actually proves the opposite
Jack Jack sneezes, and has a major windup for it as well before the lasers actually shoot. So that's where she gets it from. Though quite impressive she isn't burnt herself

The classic Pixar shorts are indeed the goldmines of animated content that consisted with the experimental standalone projects, the early works before the success of Toy Story, and some shorts that are tied with the Pixar movies.
First time I watched this short I lost my shit when Jack-Jack went on fire. The music, Kari panicing and Jack-Jack just laughing and causing chaos in the house, buring everything. Just so damm funny. And of course the aftermath where she's just done with all his shit with the house being broken down. Brilliant. Always one of my favorite Pixar shorts.
Watching both this and The Incredibles as a kid, I never questioned why Jack-Jack had more powers than the rest of the family. Even Violet had like, less than 3 powers. But Jack-Jack has 12 different powers.
It's fun cause the powers kinda have an explanation for each family member I think? Dads are strong and moms are very flexible. Violete is your typical insecure teenager building walls around her (force fields) and sometimes wishes she could just dissapear (invisibility),Dash is just a hyperactive kid who causes trouble for fun (super speed, that much like how its encouraged for kids to let out their energy in sports,Bob doesn't mind if he uses his powers just a bit for it),Jack-Jack is a baby and babies are unpredictible they can be literally anything and therefore he gets a bunch of powers (although in the first movie I thought his power was shapeshifting specifically when I was a kid, turning into a fire baby, metal baby, demon baby, and all that)
Edna explains it in the second movie. She says something like “His powers will become more stable as he gets older” so, once he gets older, he will settle into just one or two
Am i the only one that wants an Incredibles series on Disney Plus. It could be an interesting super-hero sitcom where the Parr family tries to balance their family social life and their super-hero life.
One thing I'm worried about when it comes to new projects in the Incredibles franchise is the aging voice actors. For one, Roger Craig T. Nelson (who voices Mr. Incredible) is near his 80's and Samuel L. Jackson (who voices Frozone) is also near his 80's as well.
Somehow I love Syndrome more when he’s trying to be normal (or has just dropped the villain act with the incredibles being elsewhere) than I already do when he’s being all malevolent and dramatic, he’s definitely a theater kid and we all know it
Gotta be honest, she is an incredible Babysitter! She is joyful, responsible and informs herself about how to educate a baby. She informs the parents instantly when she has questions or want to tell them important things AND she even cares well for Jackjack after ho does some scary demon-baby-shenanigans instead of running away! Best Babysitter ever!
Fun fact, Kari pops a CD into the radio. Incredibles 1 takes place place between May and October of 1962, and the first CD wouldn't be manufactured until August 1982, and only released in Japan in October 1982. Kari just casually has access to tech that wouldn't exist on the consumer market for a full 20 years. Bitch be a time traveler, and gave the Parr family future tech, likely with the knowledge of all these events happening.
While I don’t think we need The Incredibles 3 or a live action version. I kinda would like to see a prequel centered on Syndrome. We saw how the story began and ended but I would like to see his development on the way to what he becomes and a reintroduction to Mirage. I have faith in Disney-Pixar’s ability to make the movie great.
19:16 there was a video game where the Underminer was the main villain. I think that’s the real sequel instead of the fundamentally broken mess that was Incredibles 2
There is a disc that exists called Pixar shorts collection vol 1 That is how I found out about the short. It’s a collection of shorts from before Pixar made Toy Story dating back to the 1980s. In the short collection it gives you dates of when all of the shorts were made in release order. Th least one was lifted in 2007. But there are 2 more volumes but they are newer shorts and have a different layout. Jack jack attack was one of my favourite shorts, even though it creeped me out a bit as a kid. But all shorts did back then. I highly recommend finding them. I have seen Pixar shorts in HMV if you look there.

I don't think it was shown in theaters. Granted I was 5 years old so "end credit scene" meant nothing to me, could just not be remembering it lol. But pretty sure it was released as a bonus on the DVD

I've always thought Kari is the best babysitter ever (bet Helen's glad she never got the chance to call that service) and an amazing tertiary character. I'm so glad she was kept to be given her limelight.
I always felt sorry for the baby sitter. I really want a time skipped incredibles 3 with jack jack been a teen and his brother and sister having to train him
And he's hitting puberty, which plays havoc with his powers. When Jack Jack gets angry because his parents aren't understanding him, he bursts into flames and accidentally sets things on fire.
Only a minor point, but the "pale blue" shirt of the interrogation is very likely the same green shirt she changed into post-gravity bottle. With the pitch-black room lit only by the bright spotlight, the color comes out muted or bleached. tangentially, it also does not surprise me for a babysitter to bring spare clothes when dealing with an unpredictable child. Worst case, the diaper does not help when it comes out the other end, and it happens in the middle of some sort of lifting or burping of the baby in question, and best case, a very destructive mealtime with thrown food and drink. Not so much need of spare clothes as the kid grows up, but Jackjack is still a baby.
Since I had the DVD that was chock full of all the bonus content (seriously it's possibly the best DVD extra content) I must have watched this short after the film everytime. To me it's definitely canon, I love how it fits in with the film, but I understand why it wasn't a part of the cut, as it would have been a little awkward slipping it in amongst the Parr family on the island and the Kronos plan invading the city. While I did love Jack Jack showing off his powers in the sequel, I didn't like some of the additions like going into other dimensions or growing & shrinking. And Edna creating all the tech necessary to keep him under control in one night feels ridiculous. Next you should totally cover another short on the DVD: The Adventures of Mr Incredible and pals. In universe it's a pilot episode that never got released to the public, it emulates the 60s style Synchro-Vox: simple animated frames with real actors lips talking. Funnily enough years later, Pixar issued a little animation challenge for some animators to model Mr Incredible & Frozone's reactions to the show. I prefer to have all this as canon, than I do Mr Incredible, Frozone & Elasti-Girl all having theme tunes to their own shows referenced in Incredibles 2 (not that the themes are bad, I just prefer the OG idea).

That scene obviously happened after the fight because he clearly had a motive when he woke up, and it was sunset when the family got home so clearly some time has passed between the fight and when they were in the car.
