Absolute amazing that a surviving recording of the great organ master Peeters survives, and that it is one of him interpreting another giant of the 20th century, Charles Tournemire. Priceless.

As definitive a performance of the Tournemire as one will ever encounter.

Fabuleux de revoir ce document à chaque fois: ultime communion entre le compositieur, son élève le dédicataire de l'oeuvre, et nous !

Not only a great composer, but a beautiful human being.
This is one of my favorite Suites. I am not sure if this is an available performance, but the same work is done at Liverpool's Metropolitan Cathedral and may be out there for purchase.
    Thsnks for posting!

Many thanks Rudi for the upload - very interesting document anyway. Do you know when the original was taken or broadcasted? Peeters seemed to be around 80...

Flor Peteers would be appalled at what happened to the Church in Belgium. RIP, Mssr. Peeters

Yes. Yet at least we have fragments like this giant timeless music of Tournemire to tell a later more inquiring age of the sacred mysteries that once were-- and one day, will be again.

Not such a good recording. His recording of this same piece on the Liverpoole Cathedral organ is outstanding. Tournemire dedicated this piece to Peeters.
