Francis' English is very impressive. It was only like 2-3 years ago that he needed a translator after his fights because he barely spoke English.
EDIT: For everyone saying "basic English is easy to learn", Francis isn't speaking "basic English". He's using advanced vocabulary and articulating his thoughts very well. Just because he has a thick accent doesn't mean his English is basic. Give the man some props.

Yes, his English is much improved. However, many times people learning a new language choose not to use it because they aren't confident yet. So you may not have seen his full ability because he was hesitant to use broken English, so the jump in improvement seems drastic.

Even with all the 1st round KO's that Ngannou has piled up since Stipe destroyed him, it is a false narrative that he has improved since then. Ngannou is the EXACT SAME FIGHTER he was 3 years ago. He is a one-trick pony. He needs to KO his opponent early. That is his ONLY path to victory and he knows it. That's why he threw caution to the wind and charged at Rozenstruik with his chin up throwing wild punches. He knows if the fight goes long, he is doomed. Based on the Stipe fight, Ngannou has roughly 3 minutes in his gas tank. That's it. He was a zombie by the end of the 1st round. Do people think Ngannou has turned into a wizard on the ground? Yeah, right. If Stipe gets him down, he ain't getting up. Stipe took some big shots from Ngannou in that 1st round. Not only couldn't he KO Stipe, HE COULDN'T KNOCK HIM DOWN. You can't compare Stipe the GOAT to the other guys Ngannou has KO'd. There is a reason Stipe has 6 belts on his shelf and those other guys don't.

The fight game has always loved terrifying knockout punchers and Ngannou is up there, despite his humble demeanor. Dana would love for him to be champion because the marketing practically writes itself. On the other hand, Stipe is the better fight, but he’s not as easy to market. He talks like he’s chewing on glass so that doesn’t help either.
