The existing stock has been updated by manually opening every box and replacing the controller. To whoever was in charge of replacing hundreds if not thousands of controllers, I'm sorry.
The fan above the power supply is useless in a standard setup. But if you want to reverse your power supply and put the fan up towards the inside of the case this would be useful. Only time I see someone doing this is if they are putting their case on carpet blocking off the bottom. But we all know that putting your case on the floor is a sin, so they should never do that. LOL
