  • Ok, so here is part 2 of my Dual Contracts video which was originally supposed to be one big video. If you would like me to combine both parts into one video, the let me know in the comments. My next video should hopefully be out next Sunday, and if not, then the Sunday after that.

    Fun fact: Queensboro Plaza, as built, had 4 platforms and 8 tracks on 2 levels. What exists today is the former IRT half of the station. 2nd Avenue el trains used the tracks now used by the N and W trains. The el trains served both Astoria and Flushing. The now demolished BMT half of the station was a terminal for both subway trains and for shuttle trains of BMT el cars (which could fit the IRT platforms) that served both the Astoria and Flushing lines. In 1949, the Astoria line platforms were cut back so the wider BMT cars could fit. The IRT ran exclusively to Flushing after that.
