To save bottled CO2, I use the CO2 created in the fermenter to force the sanitizer out of the serving keg. 🍻

I’ve read James on Basic Brewing contacted the manufacturer to ask the sanitize the bottle cap question. He said that sanitizing is absolutely no problem, because while the caps do absorb oxygen and are activated as soon as they get moist, it takes the caps several days to do their job, so a few minutes before getting crimped is OK.

How do you minimize oxygen when fermenting in a bucket when closed transfer doesn’t appear to be an option?

Serious Question, I transferred 5 gal after 10 days fermented Wert into my 5 gal Corney Key and then I shined my flashlight down into the Keg and too my horror I seen way too much "uncleanliness" then stopped and immediately got a "CLEANER" Corney Key and lets say I had a damn hardtime using my Jerry-Rigged Gravity flow setup and IMHO I got MASSIVE Oxygen into my Bluemoon Clone that I perfected more than 20 times. Here is the kicker question. I do not Server this beer until Mid October which is normal for me to keep Kegged at 42 degrees until Mid October. SO, what are the predicted EFFECTS of Massive Airairtion???????????? or should I pitch it now and re-brew another batch????????? Thanks been with Morebeer since 2006 :)

Thanks for the great questions. We really can't predict how the beer is going to turn out, but fear the oxidation as well as potential contamination pick up will likely have some affect on your beer. If you're not going to drink till Oct and want to guarantee it will be good, it's probably best to rebrew.... we've all made these mistakes, they're the best learning opportunities. Good luck!
