Seriously some of my most nostalgic memories are when I played the original Medal of Honor and Medal of Honor: Underground on PS1 during snow days. Which those games are a few years older than the Call of Duty games so the graphics haven't aged well, but what I remember most are the sound effects & music. Running through the French sewers hearing Gestapo shouting commands in German, german shepherds barking, and the stomping of jack boots. I remember as a kid thinking how realistic it was & that must have been exactly how it felt during WW2, lol.
I still have that game and a working PS2. Still play it sometimes. Good memories.
RIP Brooklyn
I see Othias finally caved and handed over that 8mm ordnance after all
6:06 “Surely I have more ammunition...”
Don’t call me Shirley. LOL
That was my very first thought.
6:32 the sound of that round ricocheting into another dimension
I remember when you got your MAS, back in the day.
Love that ricochet noise at 6:30. Sounds so good.
Tis a truly special day.
also that shirt is beautiful
He is soooo happy, I like GJ when he shows his little boy with a new toy side
“Omg you’re obsessed with guns!” Yeah it’s pretty cool that you can pick up something that’s nearly 80 years old and have the same experience my grandparents had.
i dont know why but that bolt closing at the end of a mag is immensely satisfying
Seeing Ian so happy is a joy I wasn’t prepared for. Good for you sir, happy for you.
Almost made a comment about the shirt and the beret and then realised he was making a video about a French sub machine gun, and it all made sense.
Love
Tom
For real, i wish that spinner had been on the clock. I have never seen you do it faster, good shooting
Ah bless, he’s so happy he’s got his no longer sick lil Mas back. Good stuff!
6:32, ricochet sounds like Ian when he was describing the fan cooled rifle.
I came here for Ian being giddy like a kid about his toy being fixed and damn, I was NOT disappointed.
So happy you finally got it running and it looks like a dream to shoot Steinel and Starline just sighed and said "go ahead and keep dedicated production lines going"
I just can’t get over the geometry of that crazy looking little sub machine gun😂 Glad you got it running and can enjoy it
That thumbnail makes me smile as well.
That must have been the cutest thing i've seen on the internet in a long time. Ians joy is so infectuous :)
Finally running ? Love that little gun
Congrats, Ian! So glad you finally got it up & running. Seems like it was worth the effort! :-)
Didn't know they were small enough to hide behind a standard Parisian baguette.
How do you think the Resistance managed to conceal them from German searches? By slitting open their baguettes and putting the guns inside, of course :P
@@Ignonym hence the mandated half-baguette rule in 1944. 🤣
I am so SO happy that Ian finally got this working. I mean you could just see all his frustrations coming out about this hiccupped dream for oh so very long. Super glad to see him with a functional dream gun and to see him satisfied with the results!
And so the saga finally comes to a conclusion!
...or does it? Stay tuned to find out!
Will the human malware be removed so Ian can dominate at 2GACM? Will world wide supplies of .32 french longue mysteriously go missing?
Find out on the next installment of your favourite firearms francofile!
nice gun and beret, I finally got a genuine Finnish army M65 field cap because of your hat collection video, I cant wait to wear it at the range! keep up the awesome videos!
The angle of the barrel always bothers me even tho it's meant to be that way but it just drives me crazy
I’m confused, he clearly shoots three single rounds and says he can’t pull off singles.... what am I missing?
Agreed, that confused me too. I even slowed down to quarter speed and you can clearly see a single case eject both times...
I scrolled a long way for this. I think i know why. When you shoot an open bolt gun. You hear the bolt going forward and fire the round. And then you hear the bolt smack the rear and it feels like you shoot twice.
(At least i felt like that shooting the Swedish m45)
@@luckygunner8089 I thought similar, but also: Ian has shot pretty much every firearm that has a working example in the world, surely he'd know this? I put it down to heat of the moment confusion.
@@chrisburn7178 Maybe his excitement got in the way of logic. Wouldn't be the first time that's happened to a man, heh. And come on, he finally got a WWII era submachinegun running after years of trying, who wouldn't be excited!
It also looks like a nice little shooter.
It is the open bolt... it tricks you.. it feels like it fires 2 rounds.
In Denmark we had a submachinegun where that would happend to.... you shoot one round but feel two recoils.... it is very weird.
2:14 Ian, how could not know that the MAS is meant to be dual wielded?
hard enough to have one working, imagine two
Why buy and refurbish one obscure French submachine gun when you could buy two... for twice the price!
You'd need 64 french long for that, highly unlikely.
Homeboy looks so god-damned happy from the first second of this video and I love it. You the man Ian. That spinner stop was sick.
I'm so happy for you Ian. This must be an amazing day.
Wearing a beret just to shoot some clips from an old french gun.
You, Sir, are a man of culture.
It’s really in a sense an early type of “personal defense” weapon like today’s FN 5.7 or H&K MP-7.
Quite interesting french where first on alot of things. Smokeless ammo, smaller cartridge similar to NATO 762, barrel harmonics etc
It's the "Get out of my trench 3000".
This brought so much joy and a big smile to my face! Not only have I wanted to see how these shoot but it’s great to see you finally able to enjoy it!
I love the little perpetual "argument" between Ian and Karl about a 6 o'clock hold.
I can feel your joy through the screen. Good for you!
There's something about the angle that makes it look like the barrel is crooked 😂
Yeah. It's actually everything else besides the barrel that is at a downwards slope.
The videos where Ian is delighted are always my favourite.
Toutes mes félicitations à toi, Ian!
Good to see you finally got that weird little gun to run... :)
There are few things as satisfying as getting a long term project up and running.
That shirt is glorious.
1940 French commando pattern?
Next time, he's going commando!
The real badass in this video is this Fly that keeps flying by the camera and landing on Ian's hat, despite a submachine being fired on full auto very near it. This Fly fears nothing, no matter how incomprehensible it may be for it.
"That's why you should use a six o'clock hold."
YOURE NOT THE BOSS OF ME CARL
*Karl
I have followed the saga of this submachine gun since 2017. It's great to see it finally running.
