Atlanta Police Chief Turner announces end of Red Dog Unit

On Monday, Feb. 7, 2011, Atlanta Police Chief George Turner, along with Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed, announced the controversial Red Dog Unit would be disbanded within 60 days. Turner denied that the unit was being disbanded over recent allegations of improper conduct, including the botched raid on the Atlanta Eagle in 2009.
