How many lives do cats have?
9
1
Not enough...
Cats in mexico have 2 less lives than in the U.S because of parasites 🤣
9 (EU)
3.5 years living in Ensenada, never heard of the parasite thing. Been eating street food and everything else Mexican and it's all been good and never been sick. Viva Mexico! 🇺🇸✌🇲🇽
I had that pill in my childhood maybe 3 times and in the last 30 years only twice, Mexican cats have 2 lives less due to daily chile consumption
There was never a pill mentioned.
In Canada 🍁 cats have 9 lives
What is the parasite?
I'm from Monterrey and I've never taken an anti-parasite pill, and I don't know anyone who does that
Yo también soy de Monterrey y ni tomo desparasitantes ni se de nadie que lo haga.
I learned about this from a RUclipsr from Mexico City.
esque afortunadamente en Monterrey es de los pocos lugares donde podemos tomar agua totalmente potable de la llave, eso ayuda mucho; yo tampoco las tomo, solo recuerdo unas gotas cuando era niño porque el doctor asi lo receto
33 y/o from Monterrey. I've never heard of such thing.
Common in Mexico City.
Never in my life I had to do this either in Mexico, the states or Canada. No idea... But I am assuming that if you eat street food all the time in Mexico or anywhere else in the world ...why not just do it... Better be safe than sorry!
9 lives for a cat and the number varies wherever you live in Mexico. Remember, multiple countries and beliefs within a country!
See ya!
9 lives
Mexico loves you guys, very much!!
Never had. Even when I was living there. I’m just careful. (sometimes). But have never taken any anti-parasitic. Never heard of it from my family that still lives there.
You are completely right.
Yes! and dogs every year too
Another one: En Mexico es Martes 13, In USA is Friday 13th
Martes 13, ni te cases, ni te embarques. Bad joo-joo.
Muchas gracias ¡!
That’s too funny! Really? Glad I missed that one. Added to my calendar!
@@marialadvenicza8193 no bad joo-joo!!
In Canada we cover furniture cushions with upholstery
That is true! I believe it is the same in Europe - cats get 7 lives AND if you're in a happy space then you may be on cloud 7 - not cloud 9.
Beatiful My Vallarta enjoy..
I’ve been in Mexico for 17 1/2 years. I’ve taken an anti-parasite 2 or 3 times. Just be aware that if you have a stomach issue, that may be the cause and keep a dose handy so you are ready for when the need arises.
there are times and places where sox with sandals serve just the right purpose......never be limited by the projections of the small-minded.....in everything.....but especially in fashion elements......freedom.....
we ate breakfast in a restaurant at international airport Benito Juarez they offered "natural orange juice and a green juice" last Friday 23rd today is 8 days and we still recovering.just be careful juice are made out tap water.
Socks and sandals is definetely a 100% chilango look!. 😂
And a classic Walmart look as well.
@@josev7417 Socks y zapatos de charol that's chilango. hahahahahaahahaha LMAO!
Thanks to your inspiration, I recently attended ASLI (Spanish Language Institute) in Cuernavca for 2 weeks to study/improve my Spanish. It was great - lived with a Mexican family, so I got lots of practice outside of school as well. School is very well organized, instructors are great, and the setting is beautiful and tranquil. If you're thinking about studying Spanish, check them out!
I went there almost 10 years ago, to ASLI, great experience! Stayed with a local family too!
I had those cramps when I first moved to Mexico the first time
Drinking Diatomaceous Earth dissolved in water is also great for killing parasites. In the US it is recommended for dogs, but it's great for people as well. Use food-grade diatomaceous earth. En Español es tierra de diatomeas. 9 lives.
What is the parasite pill called? Name? Brand? I've gotten one from Puerto Vallarta and I NEVER want to repeat that.
Hey thanks for the tip on the anti parasite meds! I just woke up this morning with some intense stomach cramps and remembered this video from a couple days ago. You saved me from the process of figuring out what the issue was. It didn't feel like food poisoning or anything like it but it was fairly intense stomach pain without really any other symptoms. Also, I just moved to PV from Honolulu. Maybe I'll run into you two at some point
Wear what makes you comfortable.
The pill. I have never heard of people having to take a pill every so many months ! But of course we all learn new things every day
I think it was Coco Chanel who said that knee socks and Birkenstocks make the perfect cocktail of deliciously nerdy footwear if you're a tall Texan. Cats have 9 lives and they don't need socks or shoes. My dogs gets parasite medicine every month but I don't. I've also heard that Fabuloso works miracles........but maybe that was for floors. It's so difficult to keep my hacks straight. It was easier to keep up with in the South because we just used Coca Cola for everything.....parasites, windshield cleaner, christenings, cleaning car battery terminals, compost booster and all around rust buster.
Haha! When I was in college in Idaho and Colorado we use to wear wool socks and birkenstocks all winter. Of course that was winter.
Yes five continents,, each of the rings in the olympics symbol represents 1 of the five continents..)
True! in Mexico we say a cat has 7 lives :*)
Thanks for sharing Kennons!
from Tijuana here, and no pill never met anyone that takes them.
9 lives in Calgary, Alberta
I am mexican living in México and none in my family has ever taken any anti parasite pill! ..not even people I know! That is weird!
If you live in Mex yes on the pill if you visit nah. Just avoid tap water. I usually get sick for overload on food.
Not true. Traveling internationally is what gets travelers in trouble. Prevention. Be pro-active! Dose a week before traveling! No harm if it’s Ivermectin.
Hello, friends, you always makes me happy, and time to move to mexico.
Parasites can def cause some issues no matter how careful you are about what you eat. I also had full torso cramps/spasms in Puerto Vallarta recently. I'm going to do a parasite cleanse but can you share which pill you took please. Thanks!
What an adorable puppy !!
Cats have 9 lives in Canada too.
My vet in Mexico tells us to take de wormer. She gives it to her kids.
Interesting about the gut pill. Some people do get sick... a bunch. It sounds like you had an encounter with food poisoning. I had f.p. in PV. Luckily I just made it home. My intervals were the same. And it last about 3 to 5 days. Bright side was i lost 15 lbs. Downside was... what did I eat? Under-cooked eggs, lettuce, mushrooms or things washed from the farmers creek or pond. I do know some people cant travel without a stomach pill. More meat and tequila. That's not so bad.
My friend in Guadalajara takes it twice a year.
My friend in Veracruz takes one a year. I wonder if we can get it here before we go there
Hillary's hair was a rebel today 🤣
The built in couches in the older buildings are nice!!
Just did Che Vallarta on Uber Eats for the first time this week. So good! Definitely going back to try it in person.
***Five Continents***
Geography was always a favorite subject of mine. Love staring at Maps and globes. I study my whole life in Texas, with the exception of 7th grade. I moved to Michoacán for my 7th grade and I was extremely embarrassed when the teacher asked who knew how many continents and the names...I immediately stood up and said, "There are seven continents. North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia and Antarctica."....Well the teacher made a fool out of me, he said I was wrong. Of course I argue that I have studied geography and knew what I was talking about and that he was wrong... Little did I know that the majority of World and the scientific community accepts that there are only five Continents. America (which of course includes North America, Caribbean, Central America, and South America), Europe, Asia, Africa and Oceania (which includes Australia and Antarctica).
WTF, I never even heard of Oceania. I told the teacher he was making shit up... Now, I know and accept that there are only five Continents.
The majority of differences between EEUU and Mexico are really just differences between the EEUU and the rest of the world. Time and dates is also different in EEUU and the rest of the world. The majority of the world uses military time and say dates starting with day, month, year. I still get confused with that.
. The ability to purchase meds without a prescription in Mexico has likely given rise to a popular but misguided prophylactic dosing schedule of anti-parasitic drugs. As a physician, I can tell you that this is not a sound practice. There is no single drug that will treat all parasites and the most common infections (amoebiasis and giardiasis) cannot be eradicated with a one-time dose. Can you tell me what drug/dose is being touted in this six month routine prevention ?
It could be once per year or maybe 2 years, but it's a MUST do activity.
I had those empanadas when I was there and they were so good!
Hi 9 in Canada 🇨🇦
In Germany a Cat has 7 Lives and i believe in all Latin Countries it's 7 as well ,only in english speaking Countries it's 9 Lives. The numbers 7 and 9 are meant to be lucky numbers
Si, taking anti-parasites every 6months is something we mexicans do, not everyone but yes it is very common, thank you for showing our paradise to the world. Saluditos :)
What is the anti parasite pill called? And, where can we get one in PV?
Hi amigos! I'm maxican born and raised, living in the US for 30years now, growing up in Guadalajara I remember my mom used to giving us Mint te or yervabuena te every 3 o 4 month to desparacitarnos! But also once a year the pill. Greetings from Worcester, Ma.
Que rico café, saludos de Aguascalientes México.
I heard of it back in the 80s when I was growing up but never took one.
They Amoebas! That's what they called it when I got it in Mexico, PV.....but this was decades ago.... And I took a pill, but don't recall it making me feel better til I got home. Have never heard of it or needed it since when I visit.
Becoming so sick from street food, is very common occurrence, always ask for well reputable business, and mostly eat well cooked food and bottle drinks.
Good rule.... if it's hot, it's probably OK. Oh, I have to clarify because we're talking about Mexico. HOT = TEMPERATURE, not spicy 🤣🤣🤣😁😊
Chilangos also wear socks w/sandals. That's how locals identify if you are from CDMX.
If you eat in the street every day, well yes that is what happens. Those in Mexico saying that they do not know about it "lombrices" in the popular lingo. Even the commercials for the medicine were in TV, Vermox. Guys even in Scandinavia, kids can get worms in the belly.
Hello my friend. Nice to meet you.
Hi guys, in Mexico 🇲🇽 🐱 have 7 lives. George and Jose from Chicago
So I'm form Mexico was born in Michoacan but lived in Texas pretty much my whole life. Started visiting Mexico at the age of 12 and love the food there but yes since we aren't used to the food over there we usually get upset stomach gas diarrhea etc. Lol still no regrets... butttt never heard of such pills 🤔🤔🤔🤔 now I'm curious I will ask my family over there.
I have never used the pill, but I did hear that it covers 6 months or so before you may need it again
what is the pill?? perhaps the problem is with the water.
?
How fun. Love you sillies.
9 lives
(Canada)
Iwas going to say also 7. Here, in Finland they say that cats have 7 lives and like you said in our so beautiful great country USA bless USA they say 9 lives and I don't knw why. Go ahead and find out and let me know.
never heard of an anti-parasite pill and we've also been here almost 5 years. i did hear though that the first year or two of living in a different country, you are more likely to have some stomach issues - which we both did have.
I’ve been living here in Mexico for 10 years and I heard about that like 5 years in, from a relative. However, his family takes them once a year. So I had never taken an anti parasitic pill well not until he told me this and I did. But I haven’t since and I’m fine. Maybe it has to do with where you live in Mexico, the foods you eat or your digestive system idk 🤷🏽♂️
Parasites are in the air
@@jorgetapiaarellano4147 so is oxygen, and apparently COVID since everyone walks around outside by themselves wearing a mask.
@@americafirst6070 is best to wear your masks still & they are not uncomfortable making it easy to just forget your wearing it even when your alone still.
I’ve gotten deathly ill in Mexico a few times. The last time was from Fish Tacos at a great restaurant in Salulita.
It probably was the cilantro.
@@josev7417 I was thinking the same thing here. Seems they don’t really wash it well or at all?
Seafood is a major culprit. I’ve eaten ceviche in La Paz and never gotten “sick” but you never know if you’ve gotten parasites because you may not have immediate symptoms. Parasites don’t necessarily show up symptomatically in everyone. It can take years or it show up slowly as IBS or IBM ETC
@Night Rider my point was that I ate at a restaurant where you wouldn't expect to get sick. Shouldn't have called it a great restaurant!
date night desserts!!!!
We went to Mazatlan last week - no problems at all with drinking the water or eating the ceviche. Cats have nine lives!
Dude wasup!! With the guy at the end there pacheco... Checked!!! 🙏😅💯💯💯👍Mr.. belly.... With the 30pack.. WOOOOOH... AWESOME 👍 BLESSINGSSSS.. THE MIN 7:38..
Cats have only 1. Lived in Kansas with a Vietnamese family for a few months. They ate cat daily. So far never seen one come back to life.
If you're ever in sayulita come visit me at my booth on the beach at Don Pedros restaurant
It’s ok if you take the anti parasite pill but no, everyone in Mexico doesn’t take it
And cats have siete vidas in Mexico at least in Baja California
On our way there today. Love watching your videos. Just saw the weather for the next 6 days. Looks like rain.
9 lives.
If you get a stomach illness in Mexico and you go to the pharmacy they will always recommend that you clean your bowels with an anti parasitic every six months to a year. It’s a common practice in Mexico and it’s also relatively easy to acquire the medicine. Not sure that it would hurt you any if you stick to that regimen.
It especially won’t hurt you if you use Ivermectin aka “Ivermectina” in Mexico.
In Canada cats have 9 lives
It is usually Entameba histolitica, and Giardiasis usually take metronidazole for 7 days that is enough.
Love your channel.. here in PV until Friday.
9 lives in UK
Inspired by your videos so visiting PV right now!! Enjoying some spectacular stormy weather!! Tempesta!
9 lives in Canada
Seven lives Poland 🇨🇦🇵🇱
well if it makes anyone feel better my son has been wearing the black socks/sandals combo since we arrived two weeks ago because he says his sandals cut his feet?
Look up (Diatomaceous Earth Food Grade) Used For parasite.
In Argentina cats have 7 lives like in Mexico. 🇦🇷
The funny part now is that Iverctim med for the parasites will help you for Covid, :>)
This is fact. Tons of research. So, really zero downside!
Hadn't even started watching the video but I'm scrolling the comments to see if anyone would mention ivermectin😂😂😂
I saw that it may help and got some just in case. I'm 73 yo.
I wonder, what constitutes a life for a cat? How many times he should have been tacos for the coyotes that run up our road ? What finally took him to cat heaven was diabetes. 2 weeks after a Vet visit and diagnosis. He was born feral. Lived for over 12 years as an inside outside cat. So in Arizona, 9 times he dodged the reaper. In Mexico he wouldn't have been so quick. Adios Simba, el gato macho.
Paracites: Could be a real bummer. Our dear friend, one of the past Alcalde de Manzanillo, Colima, died of the little rascals back in the mid 1970's. From Aguas Calliente, he ate a lot of fresh salsas, tripas, y carnes de res. Having stayed in Mexico for extended periods of time, a good flush once a year is a good idea. You two are due. Love your posts. I just subscribed.
Saludos
Joe
Hi, I'm Mexican, and I eat every day in street stalls, so I deworm every six months, if you prepare your food and wash and disinfect what you eat, no problem, greetings.
Thanks
Ivermectin or Mebendazole?
Well I think it all comes down to what you eat but is not where you live, for some time while I was in USA I just to eat too much pork, that gave me parasites, I felt so fatigued and tired till I realized that I had parasites, one thing you should know is that veggies like cilantro have bacteria that you have to disinfect before you eat it
I love Argentinian baked empanadas, and ALFAJORES!!!
Thanks for the recommendation. We are in PV and stopped by Che today. Yum!
Guys, i'm 52 years old and i have never take a PARASITE pill.
Urban legend!!
Exactly! I lived in Mexico for about ten years and I never took any pills for parasites nor did I know of anyone who did including my partner at the time who is a biotechnology profesor. It sounds to me like maybe it's a recent trend?
No ..never first timd I heard that
A little baking soda and water to take care of those tequila fueled nights. Waking up with a stomach ache. Works within seconds
👁👄👁 I’m low key offended my family has never told me about this anti-parasite pill despite the fact that I get sick every time I go and visit them. Over the years I’ve learned how to avoid it as best I could by drinking only bottled water and trying to avoid dairy. Which still isn’t very easy, so I can’t imagine how difficult that would be to keep up with if living permanently in Mexico. I’ll definitely be looking more into the anti-parasite, thank you so much for sharing this info!!
I’ve always assumed I get sick while eating food from a different country because of different bacteria in the food.
Im moving to PV at the end of February and if I happen to run into you guys please forgive me if I act like you are my kids. I been watching you so long I feel like we're related!!!!
Video 👍
Me da mucho gusto volver a mirarlos saludos , desde santa Santa Fe Springs ca.
I would only take those parasite pills as needed, however you may be taking them pretty often because a lot of restaurants include parasites at no extra charge! The problem is you can't tell which places have the parasites.
