Love the pause after the "it's another blue." I think a lot of people had the same reaction. It *is* a really nice blue...but...this is what...the 5th blue so far?
Not sure what I expected but if not sure I care care for much. I am happy that you got it,and you're doing it this year and allow us to see it without feeling the need to purchase it.
Love this ink. Love the shading. Not too fond of the sheen. Thanks again Matt, this was wonderful. Love this series and really appreciate the work it takes. I dunno, I like the bue inks. I don't know why, but I respond favourably to a blue ink.
Ngl, I am underwhelmed with CV's lack of imagination this year. I can be practical all year long; Christmas advent calendars should be...well merry and bright and a little bling wouldn't hurt anyone's feelings 😂
Nice blue this time around, but there’s been so many…. I want a green… or maybe a pink. I’ve also got the Inkvent one and it’s been crazy after crazy this whole calendar, even with their plainer colors. So I’m hoping that they got something special in stock for us. However I do have to say that this is my favorite blue so far.
I love Diamine's variety of colors, but I don't like glitter in my ink, and Diamine has just gone all-in on it. I'm really happy with these Colorverse colors, but I can understand people's frustration with the limited palette, too.
@ yup, Colorvent has been crazy this calendar, and the sheening inks have been great. Objectively this color vent doesn’t have a single color I "dislike" persay, but if I look at the roster overall I feel a bit disappointed! Let’s hope for a non-blue tomorrow!! Still have my hopes out a for a true green
Hah your sense of humor bleeds through today. I'm very tired of blue inks but 2 things: it's on theme and I'm okay with inks that have some oomph. This one has oomph. With it being a dry colorverse ink though, I would pass. Ty for sharing :)
Another blue. * smirks * I thought the same thing. Meanwhile, over at Diamine, the ‘Glitterati’ seem to have taken control of the inkvent this year. (But no complaints from me * beams brightly with sparkle eyes *)
The glitter bosses can keep their glitter, thank you very much 🙂 I do love the blues and greys and blue-greens here, but not so crazy about the pale inks.
Not only do I feel like this is the 10th blue in this calendar, but this is the same color as every medium blue sheening ink with the pink sheen in existence, and one that I will never buy cause I don’t like the ‘opposite color’ sheening inks. I’m glad I didn’t get this calendar and wish I had got the Diamine. Thanks for opening them! Was the ‘oops’ paper plain printer paper? That was funny.
@ Thanks for letting me know! I use and like Rhodia a lot, and it’s good to know that it doesn’t tend to show off sheening as much as some others (if I don’t want the sheening properties to show.) I’m also waiting for gift cards for Christmas to order some Iroful paper (along with some other goodies!) Thanks for showing the different papers with the inks. Some that I don’t like on a white paper, for example, look gorgeous on Midori/cream paper, etc. It’s too bad that Cosmo isn’t going to be around anymore. Any other paper you like a lot for writing, ink, or just in general?
@@mollymollie6048 Yu Sari is another favorite of mine, but none of them are perfect for everything. Yu Sari doesn't have the soft finish that Cosmo / Iroful papers have, but it does still have the problem of not taking ink if you get any hand-oils on the paper. I'm still in search of the perfect paper 🙂
Wow, I love the red sheen. I don't see the green but the red sheen is very nice. I have started to experience with sheening inks. This may be one to try.
Yes, blue exhaustion is genuine, however, you’re plowing through the Colorverse holiday collection, so it’s reporting on their bottles, which I understand.
I’m curious about what paper the “ not Iroful” actually was. I might also be in the minority, but I would absolutely love an all blue or mostly blue Advent ink calendar, so I may pick this one up if I see it after the holidays. No snow here yet either. Please do another round of your inks, they’re lovely!
Matthew‘s videos are always a treat in this season but this calender seems a bit underwhelming. I wouldn‘t expect 24 days of sheen and shimmer but the occasional ink that you wouldn’t easily get elsewhere would be nice. Blue ink and pink shimmer? How original haha.
I know a lot of people complained in the past about how shimmer heavy Diamine's calendar has been, so I wonder if they were trying to go in the opposite direction.
Yes, I for one, am totally happy about the lack of glitter, which always feels like a cheap trick to me. I'd have been happy with a bit more color variation, though... as much as I love blue inks.
I know this vid is about the Colorverse ink - but can we pause for a moment to appreciate your own Rainier Blue?! My gosh that is a special ink!!
I love it, too! In my top 3 favorite blue inks 💙
@@Jay_Bird …don’t encourage him re blue inks…I’ve been nudging Matthew towards shading browns and grey for months. Enough blue’s. 😎😆

I was waiting for something more exciting than another sheening blue, but I enjoyed the video nonetheless! Thank you!

Bring on all the blue inks, though maybe not in one calendar 😁 I added a few to my list from your comparisons.

Reminds me of Diamine Polar Glow ink.
Yes, similar... Polar Glow is a little more blue, but in the same ballpark.

I’m not tired of blue! Never. Not a fan of red sheen though.
Also not tired of blue 🙂

The other paper was Rhodia, actually. About the same weight, and I didn't realize that it was too white until I had the ink on it.

The non-Iroful paper was actually Rhodia :-)
I am enjoying the blue inks however they had all year to come up with knock outs.
Agreed.

They're really scroogey with their glitter. I feel like it would at least make 1-2 of these sheeny blue-purples stand out more.

blue ink rules!
Truth. 🙂
This calendar is a massive disappointment. I can't believe today is another blue ink.
agreed, I feel like a clown for paying the premium over Diamine
